I think I'm done with the weekly nightfall
For little more than over a month now, every time I have completed the nightfall strikes across three characters, I literally have been looting nothing but ascendant materials, and mean while my friends loot some of the best stuff in the game. Just a moment ago i completed it and got a legendary primary weapon engram that turned into two ascendant energy and both of my friends got the radiant dance machines. This is so frustrating. Is anybody else experiencing what I'm going through? #rantover
[b]edit:[/b] for those of you saying I'm crying and complaining? I'm not crying at all I'm just simply saying across three characters for a month and a half I haven't looted anything but ascendant materials. I'm just fine with not looting anything but when I run it with friends? They always loot the best weapons and gear in the game. So I'm sorry but that rubs me the wrong way. I'm gonna continue to play the game I was just wondering if anybody had the bad luck I'm experiencing. Honestly if bungie were to change the reward drop to radiant materials instead of ascendant? I wouldn't have a problem with the night fall. And you wouldn't see me posting to the forums.
[b]edit2[/b] a lot of you are saying the nightfalls are for the Exp bonus. I know and understand that. That's why I do it. But the nightfall is also a chance of getting really good exotic weapons and gear as well.
[b]edit3[/b] being since people are still telling me to stop crying and complaining. I'm gonna turn my topic into a question. Do you think bungie should add radiant materials to the reward drops? And do you think ascendant materials should be kept in? Tell me your thoughts.
[b]edit4[/b] for those of you who are still telling me to stop crying and complaining. When I initially wrote this topic I was angry. Thus my judgement and thought process was clouded. I have a whole new outlook on the manner now, I start up the nightfall with the mindset to get the bonus exp and rep. Anything else I loot is just a Cherry on top. When the nightfall ends and the reward screen pops up, I then expect nothing. End of story. On a positive note, 1000 replies and counting! Thanks for the support guys! Really appreciate it! Cheers!!!

People still play PvE in this game? Come on guys, nothing new will come of it. Even the latest raid is worth a yawn lol

Next 2 runs I got 2 exotics. This week no shards and 1 exotic. I know its probably a coincidence but it worked for me

3 RepliesThe arachnid Hunter helmet, radiant dance machines, Gjallarhorn, and Universal Remote are the only exotics that I'm missing. The odds of getting those from a drop are so low that I just don't expect anything

1 ReplyHey don't listen to those haters out there that don't have a life and just in love with Destiny. I played all 3 nightfalls today before work and got 10 strange coins, ldr sniper rifle which I broke down for energy, and shards. That was it for all 3 nightfalls.

5 weeks of ascendent materials and coins for me, on 3 characters. I did the nightfall twice this morning and got 10 energy, someone else got 9 energy, and the third person got an exotic weapon. Then next run I get strange coins, the same guy who got energy with me got shards, and the guy who got an exotic got a Monte carlo. So I gave up on running my third character through. The whole game is set up as such that even if there was some problem with the loot tables you would never know, and no one on the dev side would admit it. Even made a post in help section last week when I got shards and energy once again and was told by an employee that nothing goes wrong on their end and to try next week. Well it's yet another week down and starting to feel like it's actually impossible to be that unlucky.

1 ReplyDon't let them get you down. I have a friend that has the same problem and it's hard to watch the reward screen when we finish a nightfall or raid. He's played since day 1, I've been on since mid October. I've gotten every good exotic and raid weapon and armor in triplicate(not vex but whatever) and he gets materials EVERY time...I wish there was trading because it wouldn't matter then. I want my close fire team friends to have all the sic gear...what do I do with 3 gjallarhorns, 4 hunger of crota, 3 black hammers, 3 suros, 2 icebreakers, 8 atheons, 3 obsidian minds, 4 ruin wings...the list goes on. I'm happy to be blessed by the RnG but it doesn't help anyone else. It's a gross feeling breaking down these extras, lol, especially when my friends aren't getting the same luck. You have every right to whine. This game should be fun in the easy and hard challenges, but it turns into work when you never get rewarded. Hope your luck changes.

2 RepliesIt's actually not the problem of RNG, it's the problem of not having enough options to reward players. The exotics should be [lucky drop] that you only get it occasionally, and just fell simply lucky beyond getting a [regular reward]. Though unfortunately, there is really noting can be a [regular reward] for night fall in this game. Variety, diversity, those are what we need in this game, in every aspect. With enough options for reward, RNG won't be a huge problem like what we have currently.

I know the feeling man. I've been donked on by the nightfall a few times. It's still fun to do for the challenge though, it's one of the best "endgame" things to do. I'll run through sometimes with personal challenges (no burn weapons, no Melee, no super, no heavy weapons etc) just for kicks.

1 ReplyI think all exotics should be earned through bounties similar to thorn, invective etc...make it so some are pve only, pvp only, and a mix...these weapons are desired and collected so having them rely on throwing some shi77y dice is stupid...Xur can also continue to sell some. Get a better mix of weapons vs materials drops...Bungie current code is simply awful.

1 ReplyHonestly I think radiant and ascendant materials should only be attainable in the Raid content. Yes, I know normal vanguard/faction legendaries require these, but it makes for a reason to do the raids. I have over 200 ascendant shards and 100 energies (mainly because I keep lvling weapons), but they are all beyond pointless to me at this point. I am not of the mindset that gear should be given out, but I think better rewards could be attained from nightfalls. I also believe that all exotics should have a bounty to attain them and that that be THE only way to get them.
