Crucible has 4 competitive primaries
Are people ok with this or would you prefer more weapons to be at this level?
Surros, Vex, Thorn, TLW
Personally, I'll do what I have to, but I'd like to have more options
Edit-Didn't include Hawkmoon for obvious reasons.
Edit2-people don't seem to understand what competitive means in this context.
A more skilled player can kill with any weapon. If you're playing bad players, you can dominate with the low impacr rare Ars
However when two teams or players of equal skill meet, the weapons win the fights.
In this context there are only four competitive primary weapons.
If you think that it's all player skill, then that would mean every primary is equally balanced.

I don't even consider the suros top tier anymore. A vanquisher or even for the people can kill faster.

I'd also throw in Red Death and VoC. They're a little more obscure, but they're well used. There are also quite a few scouts that perform well. And it's not Bungie's fault that the player base doesn't understand that there are equally good weapons out there.

I use a range of weapons ... Three Little Words - just got it & it's pretty good in PvP. Up For Anything is good. Thorn is good. No need to stick to one. I'm trying Three Little Words for a while - nice.

Yeah, I use my scout rifle crypt dweller frequently but I miss thorn when I do. It's pretty amazing and I'd like to see other weapons become more relevant

If it's regular crucible id throw fatebringer in there. I know you mentioned skill makes a difference but Im generally fine against suros users or snipers with that hand cannon

I do pretty well in the crucible and really depends on the map. I have all these guns and I switch based on the map. I prefer my hawkmoon and suros but since they changed the noise I can't stand it. So hawkmoon, fatebringer, and vex. I agree with the list. But reallisticly fusion rifles and shotguns are pretty much primaries to alot of people sadly cause alot of the map design is poor. Scout rifles got a big middle finger with first light and that mars map taken out of rotation. I liked those maps and required different tactics that are beyond those two weapon types, so its sad to see them cater to the scrubs of the crucible.

I'd take mida multi tool over any of those, especially suros. Though I've never tried thorn tbh.

1 ReplyI have 3/4 of those...and I use them for most of my cruciable endeavors. If not Suros, then Thorn. If not an exotic, I use fatebringer although "use" is a lucrative term (I usually just snipe with icebreaker or p&t).

Umm, the Hardlight can't be beat out to about 40 meters, after that the dropoff puts me in range for Suros. However, Vanquisher, Up For Anything, For The People, Silimars Wrath can all hold their own against anything in regular Crucible with the balancing.

There are some good legendary primary that can compete with those. For example I think the shadow price with decent perks is better than the suros hands down. Also lord high fixer is amazing with 3rd eye great range decent rof.
