24 years old with a steady job making about 45k/year as a part timer.
About a year and a half left of my mechanical engineering degree. I have a steady relationship with my GF going almost a year strong though we have been BfF,
But I am tired of people judging me because I game. Just because I game does not make me a loser or someone not going places.
Stop judging me for
My gaming habits. Also I am not fat, I am quite active working out and playing ball.
So why all the prejudice against gamers?
Edit: People think I am BSing about my salary. sales and commission is the answer. I say I work part time because of how my company classified me. I work 36 hours a week! They classify FT as 40+. My last job 32+ was FT
Edit2: seems like there are a lot of veteran Gamers! Props to all who have a lot to juggle and make time game.
Edit3: I love seeing the different demographics! Wish I could respond to all of you.
Edit4: Despite what some people think, this is NOT a Destiny Dating thread
Edit5: Thanks for all the support and giving your opinion for this matter. Yall are pretty funny with your comments. Continue slaying the darkness

1 ReplyEdited by Martiiinezzz: 1/13/2015 4:17:58 PM45k/year as a part timer? That's far from just a steady job, pal. People who claim you're BS'ing about your salary clearly don't really have any idea about academic degree's and just how much you can earn doing mechanical engineering. I have a few mates who go to the same Uni who are sponsored by Triumph and they're in line for an awesome, awesome salary. Even as a starter post-graduate in mechanical engineering can comfortable earn a salary in the top 30 thousands and above with a 2:1. I admire your story though, bar you working 36 hours a week i'm on a similar story whilst at Uni. I have a good work/social/downtime balance and to be honest I'm loving it. People stereotype gamers as lazy, dossers and to be fair for the majority of people this simply isn't true. Edit: if we're all telling our stories, here goes. I'm 20, I work behind a bar in part time whilst studying in my last year of University. I study modules in all business functions and the search for a graduate job has already begun. My parents think I spend too much time gaming and less time revising. But by achieving a first in my first and second year of Uni I think that's kinda proved them wrong. I have a good balance of downtime and work.
