How do you pass all the Thrall in the first part of 'Crota's End'?

I've never gotten past the first part of the Crota Raid with all the thrall around even with a fireteam. i've tried experimenting on my own to see if theres any other way to run down the path safely but nothing seems to work. Can any fellow Guardian help me resolve this?

  • either use the 'cannonball' method (its a cheese) or run invisi specced hunter. or a voidwalker with the combo and vortex super.

    • I finally managed to get 4 other friends together to attempt the Raid last night, and having never dropped in to it before and ignored all threads on this forum, we all had to figure out how to do it. After 5-6 wipes we eventually sussed out a good process; we had 2 with the best agility sprint ahead and stop just before the lamp, turn around and rain fire down on the rest of the group, they would also call out the holes in the path as they went along. The remaining 3 (4 if you can get all 6) moved at walking pace, one or two would backpeddle based on how many thralls were in front or behind. If someone went down we'd all cluster around and hold off the thralls till they could be revived. In terms of gear, I found an upgraded scout rifle worked quite well, ideally with FireFly but if not then explosive rounds (even with the damage reduction a precision shot was a one-hit kill) plus it helps if it has a fast reload. I was actually using a 300 damage one I had pre-this DLC and that worked quite well. As a backup I had Secret Handshake, a Vanguard shotgun, which had a really good rate of fire, decent stability, a bonus to reload after a kill and every kill put ammo back in the gun. I would also say grenades that hang around for a bit and have an area of effect are quite useful to drop just behind you. When it came to the bridge bit, the Titan in our group popped a bubble when the Ogres appeared and I was on Gjallarhorn duty for Knights and Orgres. All in all it took us about 8 wipes before we cleared the first area. It really does depend on the people you're with; I don't tend to play with randoms, only friends on my list and I know what weapons they typically pack, theirs strengths and weaknesses, and where they are likely to come a cropper, and that really helps. Finally - be prepared to tweak your sub class and weapons; you may have a preferred setup, but you really need to play around with the perks / attributes of your class for each section.

    • If u t a warlock, equip solar nades. Toss them on the lamp to stop the thralls from moving towards you. Lower ur weight and run to the next lamp. Use super when needed for more nades. When you get to the bridge, activate it by stepping on the plate, then jump on the rock(metal detector looking thing past the plate before the bridge) This way the thralls cant get u, depending on how many people you have in your party you will have 1 or 2 ogres. At this point u only need to worry about the ogres and if you see knights kill them right away

    • Run to lamps with group... Activate together... Turn and shoot to clear thralls that are behind, also clear the ones in front.... Run to next lamp and repeat.... Be aware of holes in the ground... Stay together and live until the bridge... Once there last 1 minute or so and then run like hell after bridge forms... Use the titan bubble to block ogre fire or take them down... Good communication and a good team is key... Then you are through.. Good luck

      • Stay together, Move as a group and your last person is your pace setter so you don't get too far ahead and activate lights too early. AOE affects are stellar.

      • I done it many times but the best way is for the fireteam to move together in a group while killing anything that gets close to the team. Stay in the lantern a few seconds and then continue and call out any holes in the floor. If anyone dies keep the fireteam next to them n revive and continue. At the end in the platform you dont have to stand on it some a few people stand on rocks (keeps you away from tralls) and attack the knights and ogres and the rest of the team stay near the bridge and shoot everything that moves. Once the bridge is done run across and ignoring all enemies.

      • You need lots of AoE I like to run void walk with vortex mastery Bladed dancer with showstopper Striker with aftermath Stick together and revive team mates if you've weapons with lightweight on use it to move faster. If someone get to the lamp they need turn and cover team mates. Make lots of orbs for teammates for super. Use a shotgun. Set agility and amour high Work as a team.

      • Run Forest run!!!! In all seriousness, it's not that hard. As a team you run out, first few that hit the light turn around and cover the stragglers. The stragglers cover the people at the light. So there is a constant cover fire occurring. If someone goes down, a few people take off to the next light, but don't activate it. This will split the hoard, and allow the fallen to be revived. Then proceed like I stated before. OR Just make a mad dash to the end, every man for themselves. All you really need is one person to live and activate the bridge.

      • Yesterday my buddy and I ran through it 3 times with all our characters (1 of each) no problem. If the thrall are a problem for you at the start, just wait until you have to hold the platform lol easiest way is if you're a hunter with don't touch me gauntlets and blink strike invisibility. I lead the group and they move on my go. If someone goes down leave them down. Sounds counterintuitive but I promise its necessary.

      • Your team just sucks. Keep going to each lantern together and wait before activating a lamp if a teammate needs to catchup. Everybody helps each other and it should be fine unless you have like rare guns.

        • If you're playing warlock - throw solar grenades into the lamps and stand in it. When weight is lifted jump on the lamp and then proceed. Use solar shield when needed. If you're Titan mimic warlock and throw pulse grenades into the lamp and repeat jumping on the lamp. Hunter - shadow jack FTW. At the end jump on the rock beside lamp when weight lifts - jump to the higher rock to avoid lamp explosion then kill ogre and wait on bridge.

            • Easy. Stay together. Take care of the adds behind you with aoe. Fatebringer really helps. They just explode. Don't activate lights until the entire group is with you. That is basically it.
