From the beginning Destiny was being promoted as this narrative epic, which turned out to be an absolute lie. They keep stuff out of the game so that they can use it as DLC later down the road so that you have to pay more for things that should have been in the game day one. The game is unbelievably repetitive as is already. Go into the raid to get raid gear. Keep doing that until you're a level 30. DLC is out, time to do the raid until you're a level 32 or whatever. Now Bungie has the gall to make certain aspects of the game unplayable unless you pay $20 more to play something that should have been in the game anyway? Bungie doesn't give a shit about you or me, or any "fan." They only care about making more money, even if it outcasts a bunch of players in the process. All of you fanboys are too brainwashed to realize it anyway, and even if they made the DLC $100 you'd still buy it because you see nothing wrong with anything they do. Ever since they cut ties with Microsoft and started working with Activision, they're slowly becoming worse and worse. Hodor.

1 ReplyI'm alright with it, I'm having tons of fun and I bought both of the DLCs so I'm good for the next one too! :)

1 ReplyEdited by Crom CCCXVI: 12/14/2014 7:56:21 PMConsidering they don't charge a monthly subscription fee, $20.00 is not an issue. (dude, It's the cost of a pizza)

7 RepliesI don't see what the big deal is. You play games for fun, correct? If it's not fun for you, don't play it. The dlc was 20, correct? So far, just on dlc stuff, I've played about 12 hours doing bounties, strikes, and the raid. So, 12 hours of fun this far cost me about $1.66 an hour. The game itself I've played 600ish hours I think? So, ten cents an hour. That's cheap entertainment in my book.

This entire post is unrealistic. Mainly because it didn't read: HODOR! HODOR! HODORRR! HODOR! HODOR! HODORRR! HODOR! HODOR! HODORRR! HODOR! HODOR! HODORRR!

get over it or quit playing really.

It's not right what they're doing

2 RepliesDo you not understand what early dlc are? In order to have an early dlc it NEEDS to be in the game before launch. However, it doesn't mean it is finished. Who cares if they cut content. Movies have been doing it for years yet you spend $20 on those and watch them once? Games have been doing it for years. I still play destiny like I did when it first came out. Every chance I get ill be on it. If they had a $100 DLC with an exclusive exotic that was op I would be all over it. I bought wow editions and paid more just for a pet that was purely cosmetic. Spend the $20 or $30 and buy the dlc or just pay the original game. You paid 60 for a game that has $60 worth of content. There are a lot of games I've bought that were no where near $60 worth of content. Get over it

They are absolutely scummy for doing what they did But its not all their fault Activision is the bane of the gaming industry i m sure bungie had there hands tied with certain aspects which is why some of the designers left bungie than activision came in they re worked everything and thought people wouldn't care and be ok with it playing video games and having fun isnt about fun anymore its all about money and the bottom line activision and bungie got theirs by hyping up an absolute dirty lie so now they just have to half ass it until they release destiny 2

5 RepliesEdited by CptCapitalism69: 12/13/2014 11:14:59 PMHonestly with this dlc I'm going to be playing Destiny much much less if at all. The exotic reset, the autistic eris bounties, the new gear grind instead of new gear choices. Not only did they not add any story but they actually diluted it into "powerful black woman yells at you while you kill things". Fvck me that's worse than dinklebot. If I want to continue to enjoy the guns that I did and have situational choices I must now complete thousands more of the same bounties that I have already done with the same damn guns. That's just sad. They took away my guns and won't give them back unless I give them my hours. I'm fine with pouring hours into new guns but old guns as well is absurd. I'm fine with new gear but not allowing me to choose between old and new raid gear is absurd. This is like forza coming out with a car pack and telling you that oh by the way we wiped the tunes and upgrades on all your other cars. This is no longer a game I can condone playing. It uses cheap tactics to increase play time. If they hadn't fvcked with me at all with these abysmal manipulation strategies I would have gladly poured double the time I have in the game now. Sadly though, half of all people are of below average intelligence meaning 90% of this community if not more will either recognize the cheap tactics and play on because the mechanics are that good (and they are) or blindly keep playing in ignorant bliss. Destiny 2 will fail. I long for a game that can match Destiny's gun play with a true no bullshit mmo experience. Perhaps Bungie should look to valve for some customer relations advice. Maybe take a few cues from Rockstar and Bethesda about releasing compete games. This game is a hilariously colossal failure. But, actually, it isn't. Video games are becoming movies. Flood the market with hype everyone buys it and then forgets about because of how awful it was. But wait! Next year THIS GAME is coming out. What a joke. Get your shit straight guys. I'm done with anything that is neither a racing simulator or an indie game. Valve Bethesda and Rockstar will still receive my love but I know now to avoid anything with a big name attached.

1) you can't do heroic, nightfall, and sometimes daily when they are dlc content. Not that hard to understand 2) of course all the shit was added to the game before the dlc came out but it was made while having it be dlc in bungies mind. I'm glad it was in the game just not accessible because I'd rather that then have to do a download bigger then the game itself... It's 20 dollars for an expansion at a time. If you work that is tops 3 hours of your work week if you make minimum wage. Stop complaining. If you don't like bungie get out and stop playing the game

4 RepliesYes and here's why. If they hadn't promoted Destiny as intensively as they have, then everyone would be falling over themselves to praise this game, and it would win game of the year awards etc. But because they wanted to cash in they made it seem more amazing than it actually is and now everyone is disappointed. Weird, because the game itself is pretty amazing. Gameplay, graphics and mechanics are unmatched by any game ever. Story is a bit lacking, and the game could be considered repetative (which is really bullcrap, both games like CoD and WoW are infinitely more repetative) but the core of the game is still amazing. A marketing decision dictated your opinion of the game, not the actual game itself.

I am not even reading what the other fanboys are replying. You are right OP.

1 ReplyEdited by Apolloshot: 12/14/2014 11:34:38 AMAm I ok with Bungie putting DLC in the strike rotation? Yes. It's one out of six weeks, cry more. Am I ok with Bungie making me raid more then once to get all the gear I need? Considering I was ok with Blizzard doing it to me for nine years yeah I am. Am I ok with repetitive content? Played Diablo 2/3 for years. So I am. Am I ok with the lackluster story? Not even slightly. On the story and open-world rpg front this game is an unmitigated disaster. Is that enough for me to not enjoy the game? Nope, I'm still having a lot of fun, I just wish I was having fun in a 9.5/10 Destiny and not a 6.5/10 Destiny. But no seriously the DLC thing is getting to stupid levels. I don't understand how someone who's still playing this game so often they care about losing 1/6 weeks worth of rewards hasn't bought the DLC.

Ah, human tears. Sadly, these taste like they were made by a 12 year old...

Ay ay ay, no one can be 100% happy with any game at all (besides skyrim in my opinion XD ), it's his opinion and people should respect it. I think the game is good in some ways and needs improving on the other, so let's not get too carried away. Different people have different thoughts

First I am going to say that I know full well that Destiny is not an MMO. The reason it is not an MMO is because it doesn't have a massive amount of players in the same space. Basically, it is not "massively-multiplayer". That said, it's pretty apparent that it is an MMO-like game. 1) Yes, it is repetitive. This is a common thing among MMO's. You keep running the same content over and over for potential rewards. 2) The story is expanded with DLC/updates/expansions. It's a lose-lose for Bungie here. If they complete the story on disc, then people will complain about the lack of story in the DLC's. If they don't complete the story on disc, then they get accused of purposely not completing the sotry to sell DLC's. 3) You are locked out of content that you did not pay for. This is also very common among non-subscription MMO's. In some ways Destiny is actually rather generous. It's not uncommon for progression to be completely halted when you don't buy DLC. But Destiny players who did not buy the DLC still have access to the new tier of gear. Yes, the periodic lockouts for Dailies, Weeklies, and Nightfalls do slow down progression. But at least players can still progress without the DLC.

5 RepliesBig talk with someone who has played just under 200 hrs of destiny. Go cry somewhere else.

Really hoping what happened to destiny was a catastrophic shift in development in the last year that forced serious cuts and reworkings. this would explain why previously named and fully voiced characters barely appear, IE, crow. If this is the case, we can all hope that Destiny 2 will now face the same issue, and development will go smoothly.

I kind of see the point of the five million threads on here saying the exact same thing, in regards to withholding content for the purpose of money. Granted, this is speculation--however accurate or inaccurate it is. But I guess I am not going to deprive myself of playing the best game we have all ever played just because I want to stand on some moral soap box. Even if you're all right, and this was all some big plot to make more money, it doesn't change the fact that it is the best game, and we all love it. We love it so much that some people complain about it for HOURS a day. So why would anyone not buy the best content for the best game probably ever made just because the company may or may not have the best motives in mind? I would only be hurting myself

I wouldn't pay 100$ for a DLC....

Bungie isn't doing anything...its Activision

14 RepliesEdited by BendingGem21138: 12/11/2014 11:05:10 PMI keep seeing you guys defending bungie like it's your firstborn child with the "it is a business" excuse. Do you people think that being a company means they can't mistreat their fans/customers? What you're saying is correct, they are a business. That means when someone feels satisfied with their product, they are allowed to purchase it again. When they are not satisfied with it or the price, they are allowed to complain and not buy the product again. Our friend Hodor cares enough about the company to come onto the forums and make it clear why he is dissatisfied. This is a favor he is doing for the company, and they see it as a major asset. He is helping the company see how to give the fans a better experience, and he is helping the fans / customers potentially get a better experience in return. And yet you people get up on some glorious defensive steed and insult the dude like he slept with your mom or something. If homeboy wants more bang for his buck, you should support his ability to ask for it, even if you are already happy with your experience. People submitting complaints on here are trying to help you.

Yes it's no different to what every other dev does, cod, dragon age, forza, you get the point
