WE KNOW! But the point is, the people who have played this game since release is getting a big "FVCK YOU" from Bungie. Christmas noobs can now get this game, get an exotic and upgrade it without going through the grind like the rest of us. It's optional but at the same time, you're forced to upgrade to keep your exotics relevant for new content. That's complete horseshit.

These christmas noobs still have to make it to level 20, earn an exotic weapon or the coins to buy one and get the shard and glimmer to buy the upgrade Its not like bungie are handing exotic weapons and shards to everyone who buys the game

here passes you a cup of concret so you can harden the fck up :)

3 RepliesEdited by Boom Shalock: 12/5/2014 8:51:38 AMThis is how it goes! In such a game, the journey is the reward. What are you playing for? Having a good time or having the longest virtual dick? If the later, than I recommend to overthink your doing!
-
So you care that much abut someone else's game when there is no P2P economy of any kind???? Maybe you should stop.... Problem GONE..... You are quite welcome.
-
Cry some more maybe bungie will hear you.
-
That's if you get an exotic even all iv gotten for exotics from RNGesus is the mythoclast and suros 4 times now all the rest are bought from xur
-
This is what happens. Everybody is acting like this is the worst thing that has ever happened and now their lives are over. Not trying to be rude, but deal with it. It's a game, and this is what happens in games.

1 ReplyI fail to see anything valid in that comment... "Christmas noobs can now get this game, get an exotic and upgrade it without going through the grind like the rest of us", please make sense of that, anyone who gets this for Christmas still has to go through the standard grind of getting to 20 before an exotic bounty will pop up for them and that hardly ever happens, to have even a decent chance of landing an exotic they would have to reach 28 to do a nightfall, for which they need legendary gear which has also now changed as you now need commendation for the gear which arrives in vendor upgrade packages. At the point they land the exotic... oh wait they still have to level the thing up anyway, but look... during all that time its taken them to get to a decent level to earn the chance to land an exotic, you have already turned in said exotic and upgraded it to its new max level. And it is optional, if you don't want to do it... don't, go do nightfall at level 30 and wait for a new exotic to drop, ah wait your just going to have to level that one up in the same way anyway. The only point I do agree with, but it doesn't bother me to much, is losing the perks on an exotic as that's what tends to make the gun exotic in the first place but with the news update yesterday or today, it is stated that exotic's will not take long to upgrade. info below from the recent news post, found here http://www.bungie.net/7_Bungie-Weekly-Update---12042014/en/News/News?aid=12447 Let’s talk a little bit more about what’s motivating this new economy designed to propel the evolution of your Guardian and the arsenal at your disposal. Here are the facts: •Destiny will continue to provide new ways to evolve •Your existing items will still be effective in any encounter •The Dark Below will contain exclusive options to level up •More powerful Exotics will drop, or be sold by Xûr •More powerful Legendaries will drop, or be sold by vendors •More powerful Raid gear will drop - and more often! •More predictable options will upgrade beloved Exotics •Exotic upgrades purchased from Xûr replace weaker items •Exotic upgrade paths require much less time and material •An upgraded Exotic is more powerful right out of the box

2 RepliesHere's a answer to your problem...nut up and deal with it. If a bunch of Christmas children can pass you up in level and gear, then maybe that's your fault for being such a poo baby and complaining about it
-
2 RepliesBecause it's so time consuming and difficult right? Nope
-
3 RepliesIt's solely to screw pve players, with damage values being normalized in pvp they won't have to upgrade anything to be effective. Yet if you try to run the new raid with your old unupgraded weapon you're gonna get shit on. Its like bungie just wants pve to die so they can focus on pvp.
-
3 RepliesYou can only reset it if it's maxed out already
-
1 ReplyActually, Christmas noob won't even have to upgrade, they get upgraded version 2.0 as drops post DLC lol. So their weapon > ours as soon as patch drops.
-
i believe christmas noobs will pay full price for this game. therefore, they are entitled to the full experience of playing this game. i expect to find u yelling at the rain later tnite.
-
Well they still have to grind like we had too, we are just uber lucky and get to grind twice as much.
-
1 ReplyEdited by GouldBerg988: 12/5/2014 8:52:21 AMThink again: you that probably already have 3 maxed Characters have already all the means to grind xp/mats with dailies, weeklies, heroics, raid etc., some guy did the math and if you smart about it, it will take you 4-6 hours to go through the next iteration if you have atleast 2 chars. A new Player comes in and will have a hard time to get even started. After the second DLC it would just be ridiculous to expect from new Players to get 3 times through the Upgradeprocess just to even start with the House of Wolves. Bungie must constantly draw new Players in to keep their boat afloat, its called "making profit". I enjoyed my maxed Icebreaker, Hawkmoon, Gjallarhorn long enough and have absolutely no reason to be "jealous" of new Players who will easily need 10x times longer than me to go through the reset.
-
This isn't work lol. You are playing a game.
-
All i know is, if he doesnt sell the upgrade for gjallahorn right away im gonn effing lose it. My luck finally changed amd i just got it, along with hard light and tlw, this week and im not using any of them because its pointless until next weekend
-
2 RepliesI've played since day one and it's great. I'd rather have the option to upgrade instead of the guns becoming obsolete. And since they start out at 302 you're still actually upgrading the damage by resetting the weapon, just losing perks for a little while. And besides, this game is all about the grind.
-
Well considering the exotic base reset is 302, that's pretty good.. And they said the leveling will be faster. I am excited. Don't be such a negative nancy. The game is evolving. At least the company cares enough to constantly update and add new things. They are obviously putting a lot of work into the game, and it shows. Just be happy with it. If you want to reset an exotic, don't complain and just do it. At least there will be new missions, bounties, a strike and a raid to help with the leveling process. I support Bungie all the way. This is a great game. Keep up the good work!

1 Reply1. Its going to take a while for newcomers to even get their hands on an exotic. 2. I already know you're thinking "Well they have Xur!" They don't have any strange coins to purchase anything with. Plus they can only get 9 a week (assuming they are trying their ass off to even get to level 28 AND they don't grind out another character.) 3. It's going to take them a while to get light levels like it took all of us to level up when we first started.
-
1 ReplyBoo hoo +tears collected I got nearly all exotic and dont give a shit if new people join and have same chance. New people playing = more player base = more content = win for me Lets shut out new people and pidgeon hole the current players ... you sir are a -blam!-ing we-tard
-
Ok so instead they don't have an upgrade option so you'll just have to re-find all the Exotics. Yea, I prefer that idea.
-
2 RepliesSo I get to upgrade my Icebreaker's base damage by roughy 8% AND I don't need ascendant materials to re- level it up. Seems legit to me. You have 10 bounty slots now. It will be easy to re-level exotics. Also some Christmas noob can't get that gun right away either. They first have to get to level 20 then they have to either get an exotic bounty, an rng drop or buy it from Xur. Then they can have the same gun as you. That isn't going to happen overnight people. Not to mention they will have to get a commendation just to buy a legendary. None of us had to do that. Once you got to rank 3 and had the marks you could get anything you wanted. Not the case anymore. What Bungie has done is great. I'm looking forward to the expansion.
