Zombie Apocalypse Nerf (Among others)

Zombie apocalypse needs a serious nerf. It's like a guaranteed 15 killstreak, the gun uses so little ammo and it kills in an instant. Edit: Strictly talking about pvp. This nerf shouldn't include pve. Edit 2: some speculate that Jolder's Hammer, Corrective Measures and The Swarm are just as good if not better, Time To Kill needs to be reevaluated, there are plenty of other Heavy MGs in the game that are rendered completely useless as a result of this. Edit 2.5: Your tears are absolutely exquisite. Please. Cry more :) Edit 2.75: People who are kicking and screaming about me supposedly being mad at heavy guns vs. primaries or secondaries should know one crucial fact. This post isn't about that and you should probably take a literacy test. The truth of it is that the aforementioned LMGs are better in every circumstance compared to most of the other LMGs. This is unbalanced and destroys the purpose of even having any other LMGs to choose from in the first place. Edit 6.02x10^23: Nerfing is a strong term. I think bungie should reevaluate the situational effectiveness of all types of LMGs, rather than nerf the few.

  • Wait, are you telling me that Jolder's hammer, Corrective Measure, The Swarm, Zombie Apoc are so good that no other HMGs are worth using. Do you realize that the aforementioned HMGs have the same stats as just about every other HMG? The only difference is the name and weapon skin? Have you ever seen the dead orbit HMG at work in the crucible? If the Zombie Apocalypse is making you cry, you'd really hate that thing.

if you know your going up against someone with the Zombie Apocalypse then make sure they don't get the heavy ammo! I've only had 1 game where a dude on the other time was owning the crucible with his Zombie. Repeatedly, we'd spawn and get mauled. But it only meant we changed up how we were playing, re-assesed ourselves and overcame him with teamwork and won the game. Its moments like that which make it worthwhile. We could of just sat there and cried about it being overpowered, but dont we all just want to be challenged? on another note, the gun is the first Legendary drop I got ! so ive had it while. I'd like to think I am ok at pvp, not pro, but also never bottom, I'm mr average Grunt who sometimes excels. I have never thought about it as an ass kicking super weapon, I occasionally get nice kill streaks and feel suitably satisfied, but equally I also get taken down eventually. I've since got another 2 LMGs which I think are just as good. P.s it sucks that when I finally have some lucky with a legendary drop, it turns out to be another LMG. EDIT: just about your point 2, if there are several other LMGs just as good and also several which are not thats also fine. I wouldnt want them all to be equal, there needs to be a reason to get happy when you get a Legendry, you might already have an LMG but can still be happy about getting a better one.

    • Dude. Heavy weapon. Machine gun. Let it sink in for a moment. Heavy weaps are supposed to be beast mode. If ya can survive long enough to use all the rounds, kudos. Just say no to nerfs.

      • Everyone can buy a decent Machine gun for 150 points, what they should adjust is the Special & Heavy ammo spawns. PS: i have all the machine guns you mentioned, most of them multiple times...its rare for me to swap to them even if i know ill mow down at least 10 guys with it, its called using a crutch, i personaly don't like using crutches but most people need em to score kills.

      • Why don't we nerf - Jumping: Players can no longer jump. Gliding: Players can no longer glide Limited use of weapons: players can only carry 1 normal weapon. Special and heavy weapons can no longer be used. Supers: Players is limited to 1 super per match. Waving/dancing/sitting: Players can no longer wave, dance or sit to confuse the enemy. Grenades: Players have to wait until the use of grenades are available like heavy ammo. Sprinting: Players are limited to 3 seconds sprint and has a cooldown of 1 minute. Control: The game will end when all zones has been captured. Clash Players are not allowed to camp. Camping will make you lose 25 points per second. Rumble The best player will get the worst reward or perhaps nothing at all. The worst player will get the best of the best rewards. Weapons: Weapon Rate of fire/ Impact / Range / Stability / Reload will be decreased by 99% Fist: Fist should be used more often because it still is the best and most powerful weapon in the game... oh, has a cooldown of 10 minutes :) Vehicles: Use of vehicles will make you lose 10 points per second.

        • I don't want every heavy machine gun to be equal, that breaks the whole purpose of having better weapons.

        • Then buy those LMGs instead of the other ones. A lot of the weapons in the game compensate differently, example: So this gun has a high fire rate, therefore it'll kick out lots of bullets faster and cause a lot of damage, so, it'll have less impact or it'd be a "30+ Killstreak gun"

              • Why don't we just give every single player the same exact loadout and call it a day? No one will have any advantage over anybody.

              • Although I haven't used the main gun mentioned, I do have swarm. I especially like the accuracy, and despite being slow and methodical it's deadly. If I'm shooting well I can get 4-5 kills with it (and I'm no star gamer by any stretch). Even with all that praise, I don't feel it gives much greater advantage then a solid fusion rifle or shotgun hit. Those have their range limitations but even still they kill much quicker then 3-4 shots with swarm.

And yet, my Zombie Apocalypse loses a lot of gunfights to The Swarm, fusion rifles, rocket launchers, etc. Sometimes because I am playing retarded and others because the other person's gun just seems to hit me more. Mine has a 43 mag and I can get 3 guaranteed kills with it if I don't get wrecked while using it before needing to reload. The Swarm seems to be much more effective. But for one thing, a lot of people skip getting heavy ammo altogether, allowing those of us who know it's value free reign to go nuts and for another, people like to run at me when they clearly see I have my HMG out hoping to shotgun me before I unload on them. When the call for heavy ammo goes out and I cannot get heavy ammo myself due to whatever factor, I go into caution mode. I hear someone using HMG and I don't know if it's my team, I don't run in Leeeeeeeroooooooy Jeeeeeeeeenkiiiiiins-style. I wait. I assess the situation and then proceed. I don't know if they have a rocket launcher, and I don't want to waste my super on that if I can help it. That's why noobs get cut down like swiss cheese.

                    • Reading through the edits... I agree that some LMGs are worse off in PvP than others. The title, however, I don't agree with. The weaker LMGs should be tweaked to be as good as the rest. Heavy weapons are fine, what's not fine is one or two being the clear choice. Control the heavy ammo, control the game.

                      • So do you have any numbers or mathematical statistics to show this? Because a slower firing MG is preferred by any high tier player in Crucible, for the fact that they deal more damage per shot. Not to mention the whole "Slow RoF+Huge impact=Best DPS output" is this games preffered method of OP'ing. That means slower RoF guns end up killing quicker and in less bullets. My Zombie Apocolypse loses to my Dead Orbit MG. You positive on your testing?

                      • Nerf'ing can't be the solution to everyone's problems. If you're angry that you're getting owned by the zombie apocalypse (which btw I almost never see in PvP), either get it for yourself or figure out how to counteract it. There are two types of people who go into the crucible. The ones who become stronger from the experience and survive it, and the ones who die. Which one are you?
