Destiny = unfair ?
So I've been noticing that a lot of people have been complaining that destiny is unfair because its bringing more to the playstation, than to the xbox... but think about this...playstation players didn't even get any of the Halo series AT ALL. So it really just seems like they are trying to even out the playing field with giving the playstation people more than the xbox people. Now with this in mind, what do you think? Still think it's unfair?

But on the other hand PlayStation missed out on halo so its fair that there getting something extra, like Bungie is saying sorry to ps users for being exclusive to Xbox.. Tbh I'd be more annoyed if I was a PC gamer because that's where bungie started and they didn't get most of the halos, and arnt getting destiny at all. So overall I think its a bit morally wrong what Bungie is doing and I think the right move would be make the time exclusives a month long not a year, then it would be fair.. Saying sorry to PlayStation uses for not letting them play halo and at the same time getting passed that and making no more exclusive content (and put destiny on PC) P.S people are saying that its just business, which is true and it is a smart move that Bungie has made.. But that doesn't make it right, just like making the next tomb raider exclusive to Xbox. Bungie goes on about how they love there fans and they are what made Bungie what it is today but I guess this time the money PlayStation offered was too much for them to resist (most companies don't care about there fans at all, like EA for example. Bungie has done a pretty good job about caring for there fans with just this slip up)

i have to say that by looking at the forums there time exclusives work! i see alot of people who ask ps4 or xbox to play destiny and the most says ps4. so again its just buisness and its working

What might not gave occured to people is that activision might have wanted destiny to have timed exclusive content for sony. I dont doubt that sony paid extra for exclusivity but activision gets to tap into another part of the market. Destiny isn't halo it has plenty of rpg elements that are more appealing to the playstation group. So they keep timed exclusive content for cod and draw in the xbox crowd while destiny does the same for the ps crowd. Neither game is exclusive so people that want to play it can still buy it. Win freakin win for activision.

Hated halo, played it competitively at a 2-1 clip. I dont really like fps for shooters. Destiny is the first one ive loved since cod4, which is the only cod ive liked.

This is NOT meant to start some great argument...but didn't playstation players pay for the extra content? I do not believe they deserve the extra content or think any of it is fair or unfair...I believe it is just business like most people do. But within that context of believing it is just business, you could say that playstation players paid for that extra content: They paid for a playstation4, Sony took that capital and reinvested a portion of it, (infinitesimal as it may be), in advertising for Destiny and for the extra content. And because we don't know what deal was made, Sony could have offered them money to actually develop the extra material. Heck, I don't know.

Bungie made games exclusive to Xbox because they worked for Microsoft. It's not fair or unfair it's just business. I'm sure for enough money Destiny could have been an exclusive for either console. Though I doubt Bungie would go for a company telling them what to make again.

Really it would only matter if it was cross platform. Then xbox player's would have to look at it all day. Its not so it dose not really matter. Just play on the system you have fun playing on.

2 RepliesI hate it when people bring up Halo. It's a separate franchise, so it shouldn't be used as an excuse for exclusive content on the PlayStation. But even without mentioning Halo, I still think it's fair. It's all timed exclusives...it could've been a lot worse.

coming from someone who owns a ps4 and an x1 and choosing to buy destiny on the x1. this whole conversation is dumb, the playstation gets a couple extra maps and some gear, big deal. would enjoy having them on the x1? id be lying if i said i wouldnt, however, destiny is a complete game and those few things are not enough to sway my decision

The only TIMED exclusives will be a crucible map ( exodus blue i think it's called ), some extra weapons and armor.. Who cares? There are boat loads of weapons to choose from, not to mentioned the Legendary weapons and vanguard weapons both consoles will get... I get it that for crucible purposes but thats what the DLC's are for and of course the timed exclusive release for xbox at the end of the day, WE ARE THE GUARDIANS going against evil non-real-life aliens AND on different consoles so its not like there will be any cross-over fighting or a KING-OF-THE-HILL play.... This is a team-component game... There will always be someone better than someone else... just enjoy the ride! I plan on being a team-player so I plan to have my teams back when it counts!

1 ReplyI was an Xbox gamer. However, if I'm not mistaken, Microsoft was a damn tyrannical company over the shoulder of Bungie; restricting them to use their artistic abilities to it's fullest. So to me, Bungie is giving Microsoft a deserving middle finger due to Microsoft's unfair treatment towards them during the amazing Halo Era.
