No one owns rights to a variable modular level editing system such as forge(halo), creation kit(skyrim) and the source forge from the half life series(hammer editor?). They may have rights to the layout, template and name, but not to the generic concept of community driven design. It will be a possibility for any game, it is just the devs choice

Private matches being worthless cause of nothing to gain? Oh jeez, looks like more and more people who apparently can't just enjoy a game for the sake of enjoying the game but instead has to earn stuff to feel like their time was well spent. I would like like private matches not because of clan matches but just to get together with friends and we all play against one another.

I don't care about anything else but the split screen me and my cousin would play split screen in halo but I can live without.

I don't see how they are not allowed to put in a map creator. I mean they didn't create or trademark map creation. So destiny the next game for bungie the audio that revolutionized matchmaking for pvp has less matchmaking for pvp than it's previous game? Very very odd.

So Ruffrider... you ride often bro? :0 Jokes aside, it would be handy to be able to develop your clan's communication skills in PvP in private matches where your members were set up on two teams against one another. Think of it like sparring, its practice. I'm cool with the lack of private matches, we just have to go practice together in the heat of battle! That makes it harder for me in a leadership position to identify specific strengths and weaknesses of my teams (you can learn a lot about a teammate by playing against them as well as with them) and will slow down our skill growth as a unit, but we'll still get there in time. I have to say though, your argument against private matches is... terrible and highly misinformed XD. I would never be part of a clan that behaved like that, and private matches could likely be set up to remove level advantages, making gear quality far less significant. That should solve the complaint in your example, then we'd see in the rematch how things really were ;). Either way, your argument in its entirety is a single case example, and it doesn't represent the concept well at all. Pretending everyone in a gaming clan is both 12 and a jerk doesn't make it true, nor does it make for a convincing argument against having the POSSIBILITY of private clan v clan matches. Split screen is something I will mourn, I have some buddies with whom I love hanging out and playing shooters split screen online. The teamwork capability it can provide is pretty astounding. Always knowing when your partner is in trouble, never having to wonder where on the map he is/what direction he's facing when he inevitably says "come here" or "Enemy on right". Some seriously awesome times were had split screen. That said, I understand that the persistent character aspect of Destiny would make split screen play impractical for guests who can't save their progress. Still, I don't feel playing split screen with two xbox live accounts would present any issues. I'm not convinced that leaving it out is somehow a GOOD thing, but its certainly not a deal breaker.I just have to convince those guys to cart over their consoles and spare television sets for those awesome pizza ordering, Rye drinking, beer pounding, enemy slaughtering nights of brotacular revelry! Its all good, hauling your gear is what pick up trucks are for right? But should we HAVE to do that because "split screen sucks anyway"? I don't think so. Sucks for the younger players who don't have those means. I'm cool with all of your positions on this, but your reasoning is pretty bad all around. The only thing I fully agree with is your bottom line. Buy it or don't. You're damn right, and I'll be there when the game comes out regardless of these little hiccups. When it comes to telling people to stop whining, I have mixed feelings. The complaints are all over and they can be annoying, but they exist because members of the community don't like certain features. People kick and scream about what they like and don't like because Bungie listens to their fans in order to provide a game that people love to play. The forums exist as a place where everyone can put their grievances for review and discussion (or whatever other topic they'd like to present to the community), so every complaint is valid because 1) Its exactly where complaints are supposed to go. 2) They help Bungie determine what their players want to see, and thus can help shape the end result (in general I mean, launch is a little too close to expect change now. There is always still software updates, so even that point is shaky). I don't ever want to see it stop, because the way Bungie; encourages players to give feedback, listens to their fans, and carefully considers our opinions is one of their best qualities as a developer. If you have your mind made up and are tired of seeing the issues over and over again as people bring them up... I hate to say it man, but you really are welcome to leave the forums and just stop being involved in the tired old conversations. Go do something else until launch since everything is going how you wanted it to. Why spend your time telling other people to stop discussing what they feel is important (but you don't think matters) when you could just stop hearing it at the click of a button?
