I don't want to come off as homophobic or anything, but do you guys think that gay marriage is a slippery slope? I mean, we've really got to ask: what's next?

Gay marriage is not bad, what's next, polygamy? You can't be married any other ways... "I'm married bisexually" or pansexually.... That doesn't work. Polygamy won't happen, and this is the end of it. We've hit lvl 50 in marriage rights. Or, will once gay marriage is across-the-board legal.
-
2 RepliesGay marriage has been legal here for almost 15 years now. The country has not ended up in a state of chaos, we didn't all magically turn flamboyantly gay and people are not marrying pets, relatives or children. Don't worry, you'll live.

3 RepliesPolygamy is more than likely going to be the next argument, so yea.

Slipper slope to what? Gay people having rights??

Lol, the "Slippery Slope" fallacy is incorrectly named. A slippery slope means that after allowing Situation A, Situation B could occur. It does not mean that Situation B most follow Situation A. The latter is a fallacy, whereas the former is the true meaning of the slippery slope. With that said, gay marriage is absolutely a slippery slope.

What would you call it? It is a show of love and commitment by two people to each other the same as heterosexual marriage is. Is it so hard to believe that sometimes just sometimes people fall in love with someone because of WHO they are and not what GENDER they are.
-
15 RepliesRealistically, it'll probably lead to polygamy. So yeah, it is.

Muh slippery slope fallacy

Saying that gay marriage is a slippery slope implies that it's a worse thing than straight marriage. It's between two consenting adults. How is that even remotely bad?
-
I hope so

No. They're just two people that love eachother. That's what matters, not their orientation.
-
Everything is a slippery slope if you're creative enough.

2 RepliesFrom what i hear Gay marriage has the highest divorce rate.

I don't agree with incest or polygamy, but if it's between 2 consenting adults then who am I care?? Now bestiality on the other hand should remain illegal. I know everyone has different attractions but it's just wrong.
