I seriously don't get why America cant understand why guns should be banned
I mean they don't understand that guns kill. No wonder there is so much crime in America.
"More crime cuz of knifes den"-Haha I rarely see knife crime here in the UK. TBH I don't understand why you don't understand that guns are dangerous and kill.

Not American, but I understand that their laws say guns to be used for a militia. Therefore, if people want to have/keep guns, then I would say train them to become a militia/auxiliary police force. They still have guns, the government keeps a closer eye on people who have guns and everyone wins. Otherwise, I think that a lot of Americans can't face that there are countries that have successful laws about gun use. Plus the NRA doesn't speak for all gun users, meaning that there will be people who support more gun control

There haven't been any gun homicides in my town since before I was even born, therefore guns are good. I also never hear of gun murders happening in the towns/cities next to me so it must never happen.

I own firearms, I understand firearms, I don't fear them, I don't see them as a "crime waiting to happen" and not one of my firearms has been used to kill anyone, ever. So, when someone who doesn't have my level or personal experience tells me that they somehow "know better"? I am disinclined to acquiesce to their request. PS: Gun crimes and gun deaths in the US have been trending downwards over the last 20 years. Despite what the headlines lead people to belive.

I don't think that people will just start murdering with knives. I would just like to have a gun, in case the winds of revolution come around. I don't want to sound like a paranoid gun toting government hater, but a good government now (debatable) could turn into one in need of replacement down the road. My gun also gives me the feeling that I have control over my own destiny, something I know has my back just in case.

There was a time when the rifle sitting in every Americans home was the only tool that fought off the redcoats, if such a time should ever arise in again, no one wants to be unarmed. The feeling of helplessness is one that Americans won't stand for, and if you think you change that, you'll end up with nine bullets in your chest from the .45 I keep on my bedside table.

Because banning guns will NEVER keep them out of the hands of criminals. So by banning them from people who will never use them in a malicious way will NEVER keep guns out of the hands of those who wish to use them to inflict harm. Tougher regulations on at home guns to make it a felony if a child gets their hands on one and harms another individual, sure I am for that. (aka - Dad goes to jail if jr. shoots someone, making Dad more vigilant over the guns location and accessibility). Still, take away one form of weaponry, those who wish to use them will just resort to another.
