ive been playing Destiny since the very start, D1 Y1. i’ve been hearing that numbers are lower than ever, and it’s obvious because it’s becoming really hard to matchmake and i see the same people all the time. i’m worried this game will be turning off soon :( and i just want to say that i hope it doesn’t happen. i really love Destiny and i’m excited for the Star Wars update. i know the game/Bungie isn’t good right now, but it can get better, and i want it to. i’m worried we won’t make it much farther. i just wanted to show my love and support before it’s too late, and try to bring some positivity into things. i hope the game gets better and that people start playing it again. i think Destiny is really beautiful even if it’s troubled

It will probably depend on how well renegades and the update after it are received. Renegades has a shot to get some good attention if it’s done right since it can lean on the Star Wars aspect. As for the next expansion they really need to generate some hype by doing something like adding the 3rd darkness subclass. Easiest and most effective way I can think of to generate hype with minimal risk.

3 RepliesI wonder how many of us has played together? In this forum you know. We gather here to talk but I imagine I have played with at least a few of you. Since we're some of the last few thousand or whatever.

2 RepliesEdited by Ominous Gaze: 10/12/2025 5:49:50 PMDidn’t borderlands 4 and battlefield 6 just come out? I imagine those two games took a chunk out of destiny’s player base. they are very popular games and there aren’t that many good games out at the time. Give it about a month or two and destinys population will increase. As a BF fan, I can say with certainty that the PvP will eventually get on your nerves and you’ll quit. Borderlands gets boring after the story ends .

5 RepliesI don't think it will shut down anytime soon. D1 is 11 years old and its servers are still running. But I agree, Bungie needs a W, preferably a big one.
-
1 ReplyI don’t think it can live with the current management and developers. BL4 has been so helpful in getting me away from this train wreck of a game. I have not played in a month and I think I’m done with Bungie. A C level game developer.

Me too As much as I hate on Bungie, I still love this game and this world they have created, and don't want to leave That's why I have always came back, it's not healthy to only play 1 game, and variety keeps you from getting burnt out on games in general, But Destiny has a special place in my mind, it's something Me and my wife have shared for 11 years,I have made freinds I talked to outside of the game So, I hope it survives, but things are not looking good right now, and unlike D2 year 1, there isn't a Forsaken on the horizion to save it

10 RepliesEdited by Obelix: 10/12/2025 9:39:01 PMSame and I know they can turn it around. They took a shot at something new with EoF and they missed, most don’t realize how much time and work it takes to steer a ship that size. Some people seem to imagine it’s just about putting some code, flipping a switch… it’s not. I firmly believe they are working on a fix, because that game still slap hard baby, forget BF6, Solar Titan with Actium and a god roll of Unwavering Duty and I just went through Ultimate onslaught like a hot knife in butter. You don’t get that kind of feel anywhere else.

I hope it gets better🙂.

I hope so too. I came back into this game about a year ago after I stopped during shadow keep. It was simply a work of *beauty* with so *much* to do and a lively community. Made a lot of friends and started raiding. Now that is all gone. I mourn for the game we lost. Im down to my last fireteam of regular friends, when they go I retire.

Me too. I just wanna keep PEREGRINE GREAVES ALIVE👊🏻 Been playing since D1 day 1.

I hope Destiny comes back from this, but I don't know how it does. The things that get us excited are difficult to code, things like new abilities, new subclasses, stuff like that. The changes to Warlocks felt great, they felt like I got a whole new Exotic to play with, and I've been logging in more since those changes went into effect, but that's only good for Warlocks - we need changes like that for the other two classes, I think, something to make the gameplay feel fresher for old hats. I also think Bungie could do a better job advertising the changes they're making in the game. Tomorrow's patch should massively rebalance the Portal and the leveling process, two of the biggest pain points of the community, but how many people know that? How many read the TWAB and recognize what's going to change? Not many, I fear. If I were Bungie, I'd be out there bragging about the improvements they've made (and they have made improvements) and trying to emphasize to the community that the frustrations that drove them away from the game are being addressed. The Portal is in a better state today than it was when EoF launched, the loot grind is shorter than when EoF launched, as of tomorrow the difficulty scaling is going to be better than when EoF launched, but I don't think a lot of people realize that, they aren't as tuned in as we are. (And why would they be? Who follows a game they're not playing?) I don't want Destiny to fail because of a falter, especially not when they've been trying to address the missteps.

Appreciate the positive energy and hope! This my favorite game of all time, still play it just about every day. God willing they will make the comeback of the century again!

Definitely

I do too. I know the Usual Suspects on here will be unpleasant and troll my sentiment about the game. Destiny 1 and 2 had and still have something that no other game has. I will be ecstatic if Bungie could turn it around and maintain a great game rather than the rollercoaster of “We’re so back!!!” vs “Destiny is dead !!!” However I don’t think that D2 is going to make it. I genuinely hope I’m wrong.

1 ReplyHere for this positive energy

Came back for axe. Strong agree

Me too!

2 RepliesSame, I wish this game nothing but the best, been playing since early 2015. You can tell in the Dev streams how the workers have so much hope and want to put out much more. Just sucks how piss poor leadership decisions have ruined this game.

As long as they insist on keeping the portal as the only thing to do. Players will still leave/never come back. All of my friends/clan mates are just waiting for the words "we removed the portal" to come back.
-
1 ReplyNope. Let it die. Only way they will fire everyone in place currently and put some new people in place for D3.

Let Sony decide Bungie's fate, its their dare I say Edge of Fate!

10 RepliesEdited by NightTerrorOG: 10/13/2025 8:22:47 PMI read some leaked stuff about the Halloween event, and I think it’s gonna be pretty good. I wanna run around as Jason soooooo bad. They just need to release an emote that plays the Halloween theme with it, and it’s a wrap.

I’m sorry to hear, maybe some therapy can help
