Destiny 2 should NOT require a full time career worth of play!
It shouldn't require 40+ hours a week to be successful at the game.
Xur's new mechanics mandate a large investment of gameplay to even use the vendor.
Pathfinder requires multiple different types of gameplay, even going so far as to force people into paths they don't want, for much less Return on Investment of time played.
Just the time spent traveling from place to place in the DLC campaign amounts to hours of time.
Sure, your power players, and those that have figured out how to monetize their gaming, benefit from an economy that demands Destiny 2 be treated as a (second) career, but the casual player is being excluded from the gameplay by virtue of not being able to afford the only real currency associated with gaming, which is to say, time.

[quote]It shouldn't require 40+ hours a week to be successful at the game.[/quote] The grind isn't so much the problem as it is the lack of incentive that has been the biggest issue playing the game Bungies loot system is broken versus other multi-player games, and they have tripled the grind to acquire items, and wasted time spent in this game running around basically doing nothing at all since Destiny 2 released, but left everything else the same. Mediocre rewards with loot pools that drop mostly filler loot that is dismantled leaving barely any incentive to play. But hey, look at what our shop has, that's an "incentive", right? Someone mentioned the grind in Warframe but left out how DE rewards their player base for their time spent in the game. DE makes sure their player base is well taken care of giving their player base something to show for their time spent in the game, and they aren't constantly changing everything about the game to only fit their needs and wants as Bungie does. Spending a $100 or more a year for bragging rights doesn't work for a lot of gamers when they know they can play other games that offer more for a lot less money and don't have to worry about the content they paid to play being removed from the game either. The original Bungie, the real Bungie knew how to take care of their player base. This one is nothing like them, nor will they ever be.

Bro, I play maybe 6 hours per week and handle all of this on all three characters. Quit being overly dramatic because you’re having a personal issue managing your life and games.

xur isnt so bad comp pvp gives 1-3 on win so if you just play for two weeks maybe 1 hour a day you can get up to 100 maybe

3 RepliesMy only issue with Xur is the xenology quest. They could have made it so that it wasnt required that we turn it in to Xur - which results in you having to complete it when Xur is available, to be able to pick up a new quest the following week.

You don't need 40+ hours weekly to be successul at D2, it's only in your mind. You don't need ALL the weapons, you don't need all the gear, you don't need any cosmetic, to play the game. You ONLY NEED a handfull of weapons that you probably already have, to do Raids and Grandmasters. This is a reality that most of Destiny's players can't accept. Getting ALL the loot isn't more important than playing the activities and having fun. Even in PvP where people say -blam!- God Roll masters, It doesn't. There's always a fixed exotic alternative that IS Very competitive. Bê It a Hand Cannon, a Pulse, or a Assault Rifle. Destiny have many repeated weapons that do the same thing. Pursue only the things that matter to you and you'll be fine.

3 RepliesXur, in my eyes anyways, has always been a place primarily for newer players to obtain gear. I’m disabled and about 95% bed ridden and can play religiously for 10-12 hours a day as my wife and I are both retired. She goes out in her garden. If I really needed strange coins, like everyone is saying, just run strikes and make sure you have Xur’s boon to get an extra one. I know it’s a pain with all the battlegrounds (topic for another day). I just play at my own pace. I don’t care about getting things or completing everything within the first couple of weeks of launches. I like to consider myself sane. Be sane Chrystoph. Be sane.

With that said, take your time and enjoy what you’re playing. You have an entire year to do things and you don’t have to do everything. It’s a game my guy… Perspective.

Just simply run nightfalls. You can easily get a bunch per run & most runs take about 10 to 15 minutes at the most on the lowest tier. Xur is still a place anymore for newer players or players getting caught up. And even then if ya don't get the strange coins by the time he leaves then that is more on you. He is basically here for 4 days out of the week & once ya get the boon return is even faster for coins. It will be ok cause ya legit don't gotta be on full time full time to be ok with xur. It is all about time management & deciding what you are going to do. You want strange coins then nfs, playlist activities & whatever else gives coins.

It doesn’t require you to treat it like a career. It does share a similarity though. Much like a career, you can’t expect to work part time and make the same salary as a full time worker. If you only play a few hours per week, you need to accept the fact that you will not get the same amount of loot as the full-timers.

I don't mind it requiring a lot of time. In the past I've enjoyed that, and Y1 of D2 was completely a failure because there was no reason to spend more than two hours a week logged in. However, this is quite literally the most boring this game has been since that Mars DLC. Warmind? I can't even remember because it was so mind numbing. It was so bad they disappeared the entire planet. Quite honestly nothing is worth doing. I suppose they think having half a dozen different ways to open a box is somehow fun, but it's still just a box with nothing in it except 1/5 of a location.
