I am thinking that it is time for a rework to trials. The reason no one really wants to play it is due to stat farmers, and highly skilled players who will not get off trials after getting 6-17 flawlesses in a trials weekend. Ontop of that the bugs in this game the delays and connection issues being disconnected etc.. then you have some metas that are not easily counter-able by the average player. The issue is that the average player can do a grandmaster or a raid. The average player cannot do trials. Maybe the average pvp player. But not the average D2 player. I enjoy a challenge as much as anyone but if you want trials farming to be easier, and if you want trials to be more realistic we need to have some sort of rework that makes the flawless more easily obtainable, and more on par with other end game content. Trials is RNG based with your teammates and opponents. You could get a team of pro players who’ve been playing together since launch or you could get the guy who only wants the participation awards and will not even try. The environment for trials is not adequate due to this and results in the ideas for Carries which are often monetized through ghost accounts on LFG platforms and website services. To remedy this we have to ensure that the environment for trials is at the bare minimum fare for everyone. Trials rewards pinnacles. Just like the other main game modes. If it is to provide rewards that involve higher gear then it should not be treated as a niche appealing only to those who enjoy said niche.
An idea, 1st flawless requiring 5 wins and flawless pool stays active from launch. This ensures that farmers cannot bully teams who are on their first win of their first card by someone who has reset their card after taking 30 people flawless.
You could even remove the loss penalty for the first flawless card of the week, meaning the losses will still appear on the card, but you will get an adept by finishing the card. (this ensures some sort of guaranteed drop which in the past has boosted player activity even when it’s a bug) it Also serves as a constant similar to a grandmaster where you will literally get the drop from completing.
How would this affect the senior pvp players? You could even put in a part where if you go flawless without any losses on your first card you get two of the adept weapons, and two more after every completed flawless card afterwards.
Make people want to help others. Destinys community is shrinking in the helping newer players aspect or even in the empathetic aspect of other players in general. You can do this by offering encounter/match completions with players who have under a certain amount of clears or flawlesses etc. something.
Extra
There’s no reason under the Sun as to why there is not match making on all of the nightfall difficulties. Set a requirement for light level and the ability to stun at least two champions. (Not talking about grandmaster but if you were to consider it you would have to raise the base revives and possibly include a quest that unlocks the matchmaking for grandmasters by requiring a few completion of a grandmaster. Idk something.
Anyways. Just kinda wished we’d put more solutions out there other than saying the game sucks and turning it off.
What improvements would you consider or would like to see within trials, and matchmaking?
What improvements would you consider or would like to see within trials
Them not putting pve-best-in-slots there with artificially bloated perk pools.

1 ReplyRename it to Trials Of Saint-14 , with Spartan/Roman themed gear

3 RepliesIf you can't go flawless with two mercies, you don't deserve trials adepts. Hard pass.

Just bring back freelance and make it so the game mode is more rewarding (Atm you get like 1 engram every 3-6 matches maybe make it so a win guarantees an engram) For Nightfalls bungie is adding ingame lfg specifically because matchmaking in higher activities just won't work.

I’ve never even attempted trials. My record is 0, I have absolutely no confidence in myself, and have plenty of other reasons to be disappointed in myself… Not even the immortal was enough to convince me to play it. Never earned a single reward from trials, and I’ve been here since curse of Osiris.

7 RepliesDude just get on the Titan a spam the f out of wards and use shield bash and pop bubble in the 3rd round. Trials if so broken just run Titan

1 ReplyTrials is honesty in an okay place. Trio/Duo matchmaking might need a little help but solo trials is the only crucible option that feels like it consistently rewards player talent. Respectfully…this is a skill issue

Love these posts. No one wants to play Trials? Huh... coulda fooled me and the thousands of Trials players. People love to throw opinions around as facts these days. Could Trials use some changes? Sure. Though it helps to use facts and not personal feelings when making points like that.

13 RepliesBro I literally don't understand the players who cry for an the flawless Adept weapons are literally the same weapons with just a new mod... U don't need them... let good players be rewarded for their training...

2 RepliesEverything you’ve said is wrong. Make Trials checkmate. Game mode saved. The end.

1 ReplyTrials is easy as it is. Back in d1 it used to be 9 wins.

I’ll be the first to comment because no one read this, condense it down. But from reading the first line, seems like a skill issue.
