Can anyone recommend some games on Xbox that close to being a MMO, maybe similar to Destiny, besides Red Dead Redemption and Elder Scrolls Online?

Borderlands 2, the Midway of the lootershooter.

8 RepliesWell I just got Lord of The Rings: Return of the King working on my laptop, which is a hell of a lot more fun than Destiny, so I recommend you do the same.

1. Diablo 4, when it comes out 2. Borderlands 3 3. Black Desert Online. 4. Warframe. 5. The Division/ The Division 2 There are others but they are dead/dying games (Anthem, Marvel’s Anengers, etc…)

I would recommend Warframe if you like waiting and trying to break the game as humanly fast as possible.

Fallout 76 for good and fun gameplay, haven't encountered any bugs the past 8 months, its not really buggy anymore. Warframe if you want to grind your life out into this game and pay lots of money Chivalry 2 for fun

1 ReplyWarframe is a decent choice. Sure, there's a reason it's nicknamed Warfarm, but it is similar in ways to D2. From my own perspective, it's enough of a mix between an MMO and a shooter to have a good feel in gameplay. The different frames offer multiple styles of play and abilities that you can run the same mission five times on five different frames and discover five different ways to accomplish the same goal. Plus it's free to play. Unless I'm mistaken, the only thing you buy with IRL money is a currency that can be earned in-game, albeit through trading.

Well, live service games suck, so I don’t have any MMO-like games to offer, but Remnant: From the Ashes is usually my go-to shooter, and if you’re in to grinding gear and whatnot I very much enjoy Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles’** loot system*. If you’re willing to branch out a bit, you could give CrossCode a try, and Neo: The World Ends With You** is a really great RPG. Neo also has a decent gear grind* if you’re into that. I’d also like to recommend Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin** or Ender Lilies, but those games—while amazing—aren’t too long, so they may not work for trying to get off Destiny. I’d be remiss not to mention them, though. Most of these are single player, but Remnant & Crystal Chronicles are co-op.
*Neither FFCC or Neo requires you to grind gear—you can make it through just fine on regular drops. The option is there if you’re wanting it, though. **FFCC, Neo: TWEWY, and Sakuna are all only available on PS4 & Switch.
Try games that don't make you play the same levels over and over to advance. Try a game like Red faction guerilla.

Similar to D2 would be borderlands. If you dont like borderlands, then there is nothing that comes close to what D2 is

Division 2... Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

Warframe. Shadows of Mordor. Far Cry (5&6 widely regarded to be the best.). Oddly enough Minecraft Dungeons sorta scratches the looter shooter itch.
