Why does being invis have a radar debuff but void over shield which actually effects ttk and is active after making an offensive action has been left untouched whilst being far more overpowered?

12 RepliesThe drawback is the cooldown time. Invis can be spammed through multiple easy sources. Overshield is tied to the longer barricade cooldown or by landing hits with your melee. Invis does not have the cooldown time drawback, therefore it needs some other way to bring it back in line.

To be fair, there are weapon perks that directly target Overshields. No perks that target invisibility yet.

1 ReplyWormhusk had the exact problem, because it increased ttk, giving health regen and everyone cried for a nerf. Suddenly it‘s normal when titans can spam that without exotic and giving OS their whole squad.

Why does being invis have a radar debuff but void over shield which actually effects ttk and is active after making an offensive action has been left untouched whilst being far more overpowered?
The void OS has a cooldown penalty. Void invis has a radar penalty. And no, the OS is not far more overpowered.

2 RepliesIt's due to the amount of hunter population for pvp. Other than wormhusk giving health, graviton forfeit also helped out with health. The radar nerf just made our flank a bit hard for cqc. It sucks but now we have to use long-range flanks and learn certain spots to flank properly. Yes, telling a player to open their eyes and turn the volume up doesn't really answer most players' complaints. Some play on console, and we know how that plays out. The titan shield is annoying, but telling or asking for a nerf just puts a target on our back. Players will say, "Typical hunter babies, just get good or learn to counter it." Yet when using stompees, shatter dive, true sight, or wormhusk. Titans and warlocks beg for a nerf. Yea, the shatter dive was a bit overkill. But stompees and wormhusk was kinda meh for me. All stompees did was add higher jump and better movement. Wormhusk just gave back health, but that was Nerf. I dont know why, but all well, I didn't really use it. True sight, I do say that it's a bit op since you can line up an easy headshot or learn where the player will be. But even that was dealt with. Now we need an exotic and our melee plus a perk. Now titan barricade how I deal is typical hunter play is run away. Or if I have my grenade, I throw it at the shield. This pushes the Titans back and uses up their ability. Now, not all maps will allow you to run away, but it's a decent tactic. How to nerf it is already coming in the new dlc. Eventually, I'll have a build that focuses on Regen for my grenades for pvp. But for now, I use my strategy that I have now. Sorry for the long response, but every time I use short comments, I get players who will say this or that so I eveplain fully so every comment or question is answered.

1 ReplyBecause people are more vocal about their hate of hunters than titans. Changes in this game are based on how many complaints and from who.
-
Because, reasons. Just go with it.

17 RepliesTitan shields haven't been left "untouched." The game literally has entire weapon perks/origin traits that give everyone increased damage against over shields/barriers. As well as anti- barrier mods every season. Hunters are not just in invisible, their invisible wearing exotics giving them damage resistance, damage buffs, and wall hacks.

Edited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 2/7/2023 9:11:45 PMIsn't the negative a 1 minute cooldown on your barricade at 10 resilience? If the dodge cooldown was 1 minute for invis I'd agree all the changes made over the years are a bit much. But it's not so ya

This nerf has very little impact on Invisibility's offensive capabilities other than long range flanking. Once i'm in close, you're still going to have the same problem you did before, trying to target an invis hunter that isn't on radar. It does however completely gut its defensive capabilities. If I'm invis to try and evade/survive an oncoming enemy, I can't tell which direction they're coming from, and which direction it's safe to move.

11 RepliesBro its 50 extra HP Calm down

4 RepliesBesides there being numerous ways to cou ter said little oversheild, vs the invis hunter

6 RepliesRock: paper is OP! Paper: scissors are OP! Scissors: rock is OP!

3 RepliesEdited by QUIET: 2/7/2023 7:38:52 AMbecause hunters are too op and busted already and invis is the biggest crutch in pvp ever. I think the only good change to invis would be if they still appeared on the radar while invis. everything less is just busted.

Overshield is a counter to invis CONSISTENTLY getting the first attack in an engagement (which is extremely powerful in 1v1 situations). One extra bullet to counter the initial strike of the invis Hunter (or teammate the Hunter gave invis to) I’ve always wondered why warlocks child had such a huge radius… but it’s to provide some counter play to overshield and invis. Abilities also don’t exist in a vacuum… there are consistently twice as many hunters on the field as titans or warlocks.

Because they don't use logic to dictate anything in this game.
-
Because Hunters cry too much

shut the front door!

Personally I can’t see invis it’s so unique compared to any other abilities in the game. A lot say you can see invis well if it’s the same as not invis then why running it. It’s just my experience though I don’t mind any other classes or abilities or weapons in the game. But I am not saying it’s unfair because invis is accessible to me as well.
-
1 ReplyBecause good hunters with invis ruined it for everyone lol.
-
Honestly, I think the radar debuff is a fair compromise for how much people dislike/struggle with invis opponents. It doesn't really really matter if you're using it proactively vs reactively. But.. I do agree the OS should come with a drawback(slowed movement speed, proximity to the barrier or something🤷) I'm not torn up if it stays the same though
-
Cause Hunter hate is real and Titans are titans lol

5 RepliesThey are both annoying but what penalty would you give the over shield Also being invisible also affect the TTK when they can shoot you before you can see them
-
I mean it’s not incredibly detrimental to your gameplay awareness so long as you keep note of how the radar was beforehand. I didn’t want the change, but I’m not complaining about it as it never changed much how I played or preformed with invis. But what would the penalty for having an overshield be? Slowed?
