I’m sorry that you’re finally gonna have to learn how to aim and shoot and you can’t rely on cheap quick kill tactics earn your victories.
The only thing I truly care about in the crucible is am I landing my shots and am I winning my gun duels.
It doesn’t require skill to pick up a shotgun and one shot somebody 15 m away. It doesn’t require skill to hide behind a corner and quickly step out in one shot somebody with a fusion rifle. It doesn’t require much skill the to throw a grenade that renders somebody helpless as they’re frozen and all you have to do is hold circle in their instantly dead. Thank you Bungie for making crucible about a persons skill to aim and shoot.

19 RepliesPeople legit think that anything that kills them when they dont want to die means its busted or OP and needs to be nerfed. Bad players blame the game when they die. Good players instead find out why they put themselves in a disadvantageous position. Example: Scenario: You see a titan running at you not shooting, approx 10-15 meters out. Bad player: *stands in place, tries to kill titan with primary weapon, too focused on aiming and shooting, not paying attention to their own positioning* *player dies to shoulder charge* Their reaction? "Oh my god! One hit kill abilities are so OP. Shoulder charge needs to be nerfed! It shouldn't 1 shot anyone! People can't be skillful like me and use a weapon, they have to always rely on their ability! " Good player: *notices titan running at him, back pedals while shooting, creates separation between titan and themselves to give more time for damage output with a primary or any gun* *titan dies* Their reaction? "Not this time buddy" A Good player learns from a mistake of dying to a shoulder charge before and makes an adjustment next time.

1 ReplyLook kid. We can all shoot. But if we wanted more gun play there is always Halo. Or CoD. Or Battlefield. I'm sorry that you lacked skill thst badly that you dragged the rest of us down to your level. In a game where space magic was meant to be used and abused you fell short. Because if it's not power you're crying about its a gun. Or an armor. Or a class in specific. Some of us enjoyed battling it out like Gods. All of you just can't take it in the deep end. Maybe... this isn't the game for you?

3 RepliesIf you sucked before the changes you will still suck after the changes. Nerfs doesn't magically make shite players better.

I believe initially there may be some teething issues as a generalisation however, its for sure a step in the right direction. For some time now the variant between abilities in any form has been.......... well it hasn't been to be truthful. Its progress I just hope that people read and see the changes that way. Im expecting alot of push back on this to start but as with any progress grate things take time and effort. Its a huge improvement overall to the way the game is plaid a d I hope will only set out a path to making destiny what it seemingly wants to be. This game while at time may feel stagnant especially in end game festured activities has so much potential there. I am a die hard fan but finding it hard not to die at this point so changes one way or another for me at this point are very welcome.

2 RepliesI should save this for when the people that were advocating for gunplay in a space magic game start goimg after the guns that kill them now, soon there will be no space magic and pea shooters.... lovely how people litterally want to cry about abilities in a game like destiny, the abilities are what makes it Destiny. People will never be satisfied until they dont get killed by anthing anymore. Its a game, theres options for games without abilities....... Destiny shouldnt be one of them just because (insert ability) killed me its op please nerf

I'm still gonna be spamming Get Away Artist. Abilities aren't dead. The focus has just shifted from which ones are on top.
-
1 ReplyAs long as they aren't fúcking over PvE stuff, idc what happens.
-
2 RepliesI mean abilities is what kind of separated Destiny PvP and other game’s PvP modes. Personally doesn’t effect me much, but it should be a balance of gun battles and abilities as well. Otherwise why have abilities enabled?
-
6 RepliesThere's no way to balance pvp to everyone's liking. Nerf this, buff that, in the end it won't matter because the crying will never stop. After this sandbox change they'll have to do another one... and another... so on and so forth. I wish Bungie would do a TWAB that told everyone to stfu and realize that you'll get killed in crucible. Accept it and move on or don't play. Too many players in this community think that they're not supposed to ever die. It's usually the ones always saying they were shot through a wall. Smh

In a game that has literal space magic, people aren’t just going to use guns all the time. If you really couldn’t put down someone who was running right at you (shoulder charge), holding a grenade (hand held supernova), or move around a little more so that hunters can’t hit you (Throwing knife), then that’s ON YOU. Supers were a problem, yes, but literally NOTHING else needed to be touched. At all.
-
For pvp I tend to agree with you! Not so much in pve though...I know they separated a lot of the nerfs to be pvp only, but a few of the nerfs that apply to both game modes do seem pretty disappointing. Mostly I just wish they had found a way to limit the class ability cooldown nerfs to pvp. Doesn't really feel like class ability usage is hurting pve at all right now so that nerf feels unnecessarily limiting. Other than that though, the rest of the changes aren't so bad.

I'm sure Bungie will send you a Christmas card this year.
-
Of course all the one shots that you listed were WEAPONS and not abilities…but yea nerf abilities. Yay! 🙄
-
I’m really glad that you have to earn your super now, especially how it incentives to use primaries instead of secondaries. The separate ability recharge is also awesome. It could probably use a little bit of adjusting, but we’ll see how it plays out when it comes out.

Primaries need a heavy return specials need to go
-
7 RepliesThats the way i play the game, not using my abilities. Only use them for endgame and as a way out when i am about to die. That is why i almost only use primary weapons in my first 2 slots, and that is where its going to. More gunplay with pri ammunition.

1 ReplyBeing able to juke and avoid enemies is a part of skill in this game, so if you're constantly getting one-shot by shotguns and fusions, that just shows a lack of skill on your end. Or it means that the player using them is planning his encounters well and using the weapon efficiently, which means that he's simply a good player.
-
You haven’t even stepped into crucible since the last iron banner lmao 🤦♂️
-
2 RepliesI mean if we are going that far.. may as well throw all special weapons in that category.. cause none if them take "skill" to use.. nor do autos or smgs or and other spam weapons
-
1 ReplyMy fusion rifle says I can still one shot and be cheap.
-
2 RepliesDoesn't take skill to hold hands with your teammates and gunning people down together with primaries. Just because you get a lot of primary kills, doesn't make you good.
-
Thinking aiming in d2 is "skilled" Yeaaaaah suuuure. Aiming with those assisted weapons isnt what separates skilled players versus average players mate x)
-
It does take skill to shotty somebody from 15 meters, try it without using chappy empowering rift and roadborn.
-
Its going to be so great. Except for maybe the part where people start calling for more weapon nerfs than they used to. But even that will be better, maybe.
