Ima make this quick. We have wielded a lot of weapons as Guardians. Iron Axe, Javelin, VOG shield etc but those weapons are/where for only temporary occasions.
Since the beginning we have always wielded swords, and it should be time for new melee weapons. Nunchucks, Scythes, Spears, a Whips hell even a Titans fist or something.
In the making of the Witch Queen we should have a new power melee weapon because as a Swordsman even I am getting tired of welding my blade, and want a new melee weapon.

1 ReplyEdited by Centaur-1: 6/16/2021 4:53:50 AMI just want hunters to have their stab melee no matter the subclass. I’m tired of seeing the weaklings try to be titans. First they get a punch melee that barely looks like it could kill a thrall, than they start to wear arm armor with slightly larger shoulders pads, than armor synthesis comes around and suddenly most of the hunters are either missing a cape, a hood, or both! It’s like all of the hunters are (making attempts at) being titans (and failing) for the Festival of The Lost!

I'd like to see a bigger emphasis on Titans using their fist and head. Aside from finishers. Like it could take a weapon slot or something.

3 RepliesI'd rather have class-specific ranged weapons instead that use Special ammo. Dual-Sidearms for Hunter. Minigun for Titan Elemental Glove for Warlocks.

I’m surprised we don’t have some kind of staff weapon. It can even fire energy bolts StarGate-style. It could be long, or short like Korg’s blaster/cudgel in the Thor movies.

Dont forget the hammer from last season

I would love some daggers with infinite ammo but requires 2 slashes to get a kill. It would basically behave like spectral blades but without insane mobility. Getting kills with daggers makes players go invisible or instead just removes players from enemy radar for like a second or 2. of course this would have to be an exotic, infinite ammo daggers? Wouldn’t be ideal if it was a legendary but then again, I never understood why melee weapons even require ammo in this game, its a freaking melee weapon! You don’t see melee weapons in COD or any other game needing ammo to slash at someone lol.

I hate that they took the lazy route again for warlock swords....rapier should be warlock swords....

I would rather use my ship on a mission instead of just look at it on the menu lol

Edited by IronHatchett: 6/12/2021 4:23:56 PMWhere - In or to what place or position. "Where do you live?" Were - second person singular past, plural past, and past subjective. In other words, the past tense of are. "Those weapons are or were temporary." Stay in school kids.

Let us use our heavy weapons as bludgeoning weapons! Dont have Eyes of Tomorrow? Take out your frustration and beat some fallen silly with your Bad Omens!

Nerf hand cannons

There are a lot of game out there where you do use melee weapons. You should try some of them. Destiny has amazing shooting mechanics for a reason.

It makes sense to have the iron Lord axe as a heavy due to the fact you could use it in Rise or Iron as a melee weapon in certain areas. The valkerian spear is kinda tricky as only rasputin can create them and uh... He noped the F out when the pyramid ships came. The VOG shield aka the aegis is VERY specific. See it isn't just a shield... Kabr basically used all his light to create that sheild to allow the next team a chance to actually pull it off. To create one of them in lore is... Well you would have to use all your light and I'm not sure if it replenishes or kills you.

I have no problem with swords but I would die for new moves, you know. Apart from Lament, it's all the same... I know that melee combat in FPS it's not the strong part in terms of beauty, but since we have a dozen swords, we could use some new animations here and there..

I can see it now getting walloped on by invisible Bruce lee every comp match 😂

Edited by Double07: 6/12/2021 8:48:12 PMA kinetic sword. By the way, in the first game when a sword has no ammo, it loses the blade or it’s broken. However, in this game, when a sword has zero ammo, it’s semi transparent. I find this change lazy.

13 RepliesEdited by Olórin: 6/11/2021 9:58:08 PMWouldn't mind new class specific exotic melee weapons. Titans seem like they need a weapon to match the speed they have, hows about a Spear to match that Achilles agility. Light attacks are now side dodges in the direction you move, each light attack you gain a stack of mitigation to damage up to x3. Heavy attacks are superman leaps and a follow up lunge with the spear, after the attack you lose all stacks of mitigation. - Hunters can have Dual Daggers with a heavy attack throws the daggers towards an enemy and upon contact they teleport behind them. Heavy attacks are faster and increased damage when a dagger has landed on an opponent. - And now, the best at last, my main (not biased at all i know) Warlocks, what cool melee weapon should we get? An Axe? Hammer? Gauntlets? A Book. Wait, wait... Hear me out. I SAID WAIT DAMMIT! Ahem*... Right, so we get an Ancient Warlock Scribes Book of Classes that when full of Heavy Ammo... Lol... it allows us to cast our Space Magic with deadly efficiency. Melee abilities, Grenades, Supers and buffs have all been DMG boosted as well as faster cooldown refresh rates when using our book of spells, to balance this in Crucible the Heavy ammo decreases every second so you cant just grab Heavy and let your abilities decrease forever, eventually you will run out of Heavy ammo over time. But it also would be a bit of a cop out to just have the standard abilities with the same animation being used... so have it so when Warlocks cast an ability from the Book animation something different... Like Subclass related melee ability being cast like a Doctor Strange animation.

A gravity hammer that's had most the handle cut off, a "sawn off grav hammer"

Under barrel Chainsaw.

A scythe sounds cool Especially a siva related one

Somebody said bayonets down below We seriously need weapons that have a bayonet on their model to have their own weapon frame/archetype that actually lets us use the bayonet. And I'd say have it make the melee do 1.5x damage. Though Monte can do x2 for all I care.

Well, the Iron Axe from RoI is pretty similar to the Burning Maul super for Titans. The Javelin from Warmind is also basically identical to the new Stasis Lance on Behemoth, the only difference being a freeze instead of solar explosions. And then the VoG relic is also basically identical to the Sentinel Shield super. Sooooo... we kinda already have all the melee weapons available.

1 ReplyI’d be fine with a few things as exotics only: 1) Eliksni Wretch arc staff. That’d be cool. Eliksni weapons are always cool so why not add another one? Be able to use its length for like long ranged jabs or something like that... 2) special ammo melee weapon that I’ll just refer to as a knife for now. You’d stay in first person POV. Short ranged attack. Heavy attack doesn’t kill in one hit but it does more damage than one normal melee on a Guardian inside PvP. Sounds fair especially considering shotguns and fusion rifles exist. 3) The Iron Axe. I really don’t know why this hasn’t become a thing. It should be a thing but it also shouldn’t replace Young Wolf’s Howl when that thing does eventually return. 4) Cabal Hammer from last season. Why not? 5) Cabal Phalanx shield. This is the one I’m most hesitant on. Shields could be very useful in both PvE and PvP. It would be heavy ammo obviously and would use an exotic slot.

Bayonets........ enough said

2 RepliesI would like to see some new melee weapons like axes and hammers as well as some other new weapon types too like flamethrowers, rapid fire crossbows(like in the Vanhelsing movie) and some futuristic/fantasy weapons like lazer guns or something like that.
