  • I have a question is why are you holding onto older weapons and armor? Like they will never come back. If you have up to date weapons and armor with random stats I can understand but if it's older content delete them

  • If you are out of vault space in 2021, the issue isn’t bungie

Totally agree with this & let me explain to those that call us hoaders. I have & run all 3 classes. I have deleted most of the sunset weapons & armor - couple of weapons because of the high kill counters they have & sunset armor because it is MW'd & I have a full inventory & postmasters of prisms For the last 2 seasons I have run the GM's, I have leveled & MW'd a number of legendary & exotic armor pieces for each character to have options for mods (arc, void or solar resist for example). Most of the armor pieces are 60+ but I have few below 60 because of the interesting high stat number in 1 or 2 slots. As for weapons - who would have thought that bows would be the best option for GM's & lost sectors so glad I had a couple of those. Then we have the buffs & debuffs to certain weapon archetypes during each season. Maybe linear fusion rifles will be good next season so I have kept a couple of different roles that could be good. The different weapons required to disrupt champions each season. I have no sparrows, spaceships or ghost shells in my vault & I have deleted exotic weapons I rarely use. Just armor & weapons and I am almost always close to 500 slots filled, although each character does have spaces available to pick up any new loot that drops during mission/campaign etc. We cannot pull legendary weapons from collections & exotic armor from collections has dire stat rolls therefore keeping what is currently good and what might become good is, IMO at least, important. This is a looter shooter & if we are being encouraged to chase the loot we should have the ability to keep that loot if we want to. Yes, maybe I could be more selective but having choices with weapons & weapon perks, making new armor builds is what I enjoy doing, so until Bungie gives/sells us more vault space I will continue to upvote any post I see asking for more vault space.

  • For the people who assume we dont need vault space dont see the game truly as a looter shooter. We need more vault space each time new content is dropped in the game especially when Collections is a window shopper that is still in D2Y1 state. I could understand if the Collections system worked in putting any old content with random rolls into it but it doesnt. We still have 500 slots for 3 characters since Shadowkeep. It is unexcusable.

      • I don't know about the rest of you, but at this point I would happily throw some money at the screen for an extra 50-100 slots in the vault.

I like posts like this. It brings out all the rude people on this forum that claim how they hate how this forum is toxic yet here they are being toxic 🤦‍♂️ If you are a collector don't pay any attention to the one calling you a "hoarder". What you do is your business and no one on this forum has the right to tell anyone what to do with the loot they collect. There are a few things Bungie could be doing to improve the vault space but they don't care to as they have shown for the last 4 years. Hell, even D1 vault space was organized compared to D2. Yeah yeah, for the ones going to mention the stupid app to use to organize the vault space when other companies don't have an issue doing the basic things in gaming as Bungie struggles just to even get certain things to even work right.

        • A Vault size change could be as simple as increasing a number from 500 to another. Given the assumption that each weapon, armour or any other object in the vault is represented by an unsigned integer (2 bytes with a maximum value of 65,535), as well as the assumption that Bungie use tables in relational databases, all items we see in the vault are pulled from other data tables. For example everything we see in the vault is the result of one or more queries like: SELECT weapon from ARMS_TABLE WHERE Weapon_ID = 9355; This query might return the Sunshot image. Now, also assuming that there are a million Destiny 2 players, the additional storage overhead to Bungie would be 2 Megabytes. Put into perspective, roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of an mp3 song. The above may seem simplistic but the only other overhead I can see is processing time for the databases’ execution plan. Unless Bungie tell us otherwise, I don’t see a problem increasing vault space.

          • Transmog will help a little bit even though they botched it. Most of my vault is armor that was only held onto for the looks. Without having to worry about aesthetics I can delete most of my armor. If I have a couple masterworked sets then why do I need anything else if I can make it look how I want? It’s gonna be a while now before my vault gets filled with weapons. Weapons with decent rolls aren’t worth getting rid of even if you don’t use them. Cause there’s always the chance that one of Bungos meta rotations will make it top tier

          • While I support nothing Bungie today. This one is basic coding and active memory. Games do run out of room to have individual and unique items. (It’s not hardware) Bungie has gotten around some of it by adding kiosks so you can get somethings saved somewhere else. But it is a delicate balance between giving you space and having the game run smoothly. It’s why all games don’t give unlimited space. Again this isn’t hardware. It’s limitations on the games code and core function

            • Most players agree with you because you have to keep every piece of exotic armor and weapons because they swap meta's so often. I could easily use 1K spaces in my vault .

            • My issue with my vault is having guns from seasons past that are now unobtainable but since they’re y2+ I can’t recollect them. They have set rolls in the collections tab, just give us those and my vault would reach like 50 things in it

            • They just need to separate each class. So those of us that run all 3 have separate armor vaults. Depending on what class you are currently playing it would only be their armor. No need to to add more spots just only load the vault of the class you are playing. Weapons will all be the same. They want us to do builds for different activities and that requires multiple groups of armor so the stats line up which is fine if you only run one class but those that run all 3 and keep them all up to level need multiple sets of armor times 3 for each class. You can only load one guardian at a time so just separate the armor vaults and problem solved!

            • I actually think we should have less vault space. I like hoarding gear as much as the next guy, but most of what I have now is there for nostalgia purposes. If there were a better comparison tool in game, I probably would clean my gear out a lot more often. A lot of times I collect rolls early on in a season, then I go through them and do clean up at the end. I can understand the desire for more space, but I would much rather have better inventory management tools.

            • More vault space solves nothing. They could increase it to 1000 and people like you and I would simply fill it up with more useless garbage that we MIGHT use in 3 years when that one random archetype and weapon perk get a 5% buff. More Vault Space makes it harder for players like us because when we fill it up, it becomes just that much harder to go through and delete items. The one update we could use is an update to collections allowing us to get Year 2+ weapons and armor from collections.

                • That will never happen, and why would we want it when most of the loot is cr4p anyway. I'm pretty fed up with D2 as about now, most of the gear we get is just big fk you. All the cool stuff are locked behind mechanics that take much effort and time. That has nothing to do with fun. The thing D2 lacks and have been lacking for a long time are the fun elements. I know difficulty and the meaning of it. But sometimes that is not the thing people are looking for. Is D2 a game for casual players, maybe, if you just run altars of sorrow or the blind well. But anything outside that is not even worth the time. I have come to the conclusion that it would be better if Bungie sold the weapons and gear in a "Gunverse" so people that value their time more, just could but that sh*t. i know i would. There are to many a$$holes in the matchmaking element that most of the events are not even fun to do. Will i buy season 14, maybe but after that who knows. Destiny 2 takes a toll on people but when it comes to time and money. And my time is sure h3ll more valuable than money!
