If you play trials on Monday and Tuesday you’ll only find people with 300+ flawless and 2.0+ KD which is totally crazy.
This happens because the “average pvp ” player only plays trials to get the bounties, then they are done for the week.
It is disappointing, there is no incentive to play it.
The matchmaking should allow everyone to go flawless (if good for you pvp average level).
I mean that people with 0.5 Kd should play with people with MAX 0.8 Kd otherwise the game is too unbalanced.
There is no sense in a match of people with 2.0 Kd vs people with 0.5 Kd. Come on that must be a joke.
And to all those that say “it is an extreme competitive mode” I would like them to play against those 2.5 Kd people that don’t give you the time to breathe that the game is already over.
The game is for all the players, not only for the Best (most of the time cheaters)

13 RepliesEdited by SALM0N_SalaD: 4/13/2021 6:46:33 PMIt will be just nonsense. It is almost impossible to get 7 victories in a row without defeats against a player with the same level of play. In trials you need players who will lose and you are one of them. Another question is what rewards are given to you for this. If you don't play well, then the core audience shouldn't suffer. And don't forget about people who will spoil their K / D. You will ruin the game for EVERYONE with such a decision

4 Replies"Matchmaking should allow everyone to go flawless" you're just straight up wrong. What they should and have said they will be doing, is making the weekly rewards more accessible to the average player each week. Flawless should NEVER be made easier. Wtf is the point in pinnacle PVP if there's no challenge and anyone can go flawless?

66 RepliesTrials matchmaking system is fine when there is a good playerbase the problem is the low population which I think everyone can agree on

Edited by BulbaSmasher: 4/12/2021 11:53:18 PMI think it's overall.. I just did a random ranked match (I haven't played in 2 weeks).. ended up 3v1.. left and now I'm suspended lol

I find Monday and Tuesday very easy compared to early on

It’s not the matchmaking, it’s the insane players running trials nonstop because they are selling carries. That’s what’s making it so impossible. They need to crackdown on selling runs for $$$.

Edited by Sneaky The 1st: 4/12/2021 11:51:28 PMI have seen lot of teams are jumping off the edge to get the bounty done. They know they don’t have fighting chance, why wasting time?. This is competitive at all, Just Bungie want to feed their top 1% player. If they want to satisfy them, there are many ways (I leave to your imagination). One way is conduct tournaments and announce prize money. In game loot for everyone , to get that you don’t have to jumping off the ledge.

1 ReplyLook I get my butt kicked in trials as much as the next guy, and based on my stats in other crucible I'm above average. But saying that everyone should go flawless is stupid, that would completely take the point out of it. And what do you mean "good for your pvp average level"? There's no such thing as being good or bad for your "pvp average level", because otherwise the game is interpreting your skill wrong. My issue with trials is that it's mostly saturated by paid carries, recovs, and other flawless players sitting at low win streak to farm other people and gate them from going further. The game mode is saturated with top 1%, so majority of the games are nearly impossible unless you're top 1% yourself.

Wait im confused, lfg or actual matchmaking?
-
22 RepliesMatchmaking shouldn't be handing out flawlesses, but yeah there should be incentive for more people to play. Sucks that only the top 1% seem to play it

2 RepliesI think its funny people come to the forums to complain about one of the least popular pvp games out today. Its like going to a terrible restaurant and being upset the food isnt great.

There’s apparently going to be matchmaking changes to trials at some point. I think it’s coming into effect next season, but I’m not sure. To be honest though, I don’t plan on playing trials when it gets its new update. I don’t think there’s any legitimate reason why someone like me should play trials and fail continuously anyway.

Deadass trials sucks; go play something else. The rest of us already have

2 RepliesI see too many arrogant people in this game. 1) everybody chill it is just a game you take it too seriously; 2) to those who insult me, before speaking go check my stats. I have gone flawless multiple times so I am not complaining about that. 3) I speak for the majority of people in this game. I know and agree with you when you say it is highly competitive, but we have to consider the level of each person. It is not fair putting everyone in the same matchmaking, because people around 1 Kd may never go flawless because constantly matched with people too skilled for them. 4) It should not be easy to go flawless for anybody, but at the same time everyone should be able to go with commitment. And you perfectly understand that the current matchmaking wouldn’t allow that. Just an example: a team with 1 Kd will never win against a team with 2.0 Kd. So if there is not a matchmaking based on the real skill, there will always be this unfair privilege for top players. Wish you all a good game But most importantly stop spreading hate for free you look ridiculous fake champs

5 RepliesEdited by Guardian8793: 4/13/2021 3:09:04 PMThere’s a few things wrong with this. Trials has never and will never be for everyone to go flawless. That’s why the lighthouse is such a special place. If everyone like you’re saying could go there, it wouldn’t even be an achievement anymore it would just be “yeh everyone’s been so what?” Secondly, yes you will play against stacked teams. But see that last team you 5-0? They probably think you’re a stacked team. And see the teams they 5-0? They probably think they’re stacked. The matchmaking is either card which is fair, considering it is supposed to get harder the more you go on or cbmm, so games are high quality without connection issues. What you are proposing, would make every single 2.0 reverse boost to be a 0.5, or would make recovs run riot in the playlist even more so because they would match against other “similar” skilled players say a 0.5 that’s actually a 2.0 matching max 0.8, it’s be a slaughter fest. Yes, you will get stomped. I’ve been 5-0, and I’ve done the stomping myself. It’s how the game mode works. I’ve beaten 2.5s, and been beaten by 0.8s. It isn’t perfect, but what you’re saying is sbmm and that would rip the fun out of trials for 80 percent of people, and the incentive would disappear.

8 RepliesThe matchmaking is fine. Stop asking for handouts to get flawless. Flawless is for the best of the best 👍
-
1 ReplyThe problem with this is that trials flawless is ONLY supposed to be rewarded to literally the best pvp players, and if you don’t make the cut then there’s nothing left to say. That being said though most players aren’t gonna come close to flawless, so in my opinion, they should just make the iron banner more rewarding to casual players looking for more of a challenge. I have spoken.

2 Replies“The game is for all the players, not only the best” Yes... BUT Trials was specifically made and marketed for THE BEST OF THE BEST. Making it any different kills the whole point of it...

The matchmaking should allow everyone to go flawless
I have great news for you. It does.

Go in, complete the bounty and get out like most players do. You only get matched against top tier players on Monday and Tuesday because they're the only ones still in there past Sunday.
-
8 RepliesNo. Trials is Designed for the Hardcore,Try Hard, Sweat Lords. Trials was never Designed for Casual Players. Yes everyone can play it, but there's no guarantee that you'll go Flawless. No, Not everyone is meant to hit Flawless. Flawless Rewards are meant for those who play More then the Average player. This isn't "Elitism" or "Gatekeeping". It's like if people who casual play golf, say that they should be paid like the Pro Tour players. No, Pro Tour is competitive with Rewards if you win. Same with Trials. Flawless Rewards are the Big Payout.
-
I played trials for the first time today and in my 1st game ever came up against flawless players. It is what it is. I only wanted the 7 round wins for the challenge. It was a good laugh. Used bottom dollar. I hate hand cannons. But had a good time with this. Trials is and always will be a sweatfest. That's the nature of the beast. I played 7 games 2 wins 5 losses. Got a pretty cool solar sword. Just for "Participation".lol Dont jump in the fire if you cant handle the heat.

Trials matchmaking is fine, stingy rewards are the problem. Bungie should incentivize everyone to participate and be more generous with non adept loot. Adept loot should stay as is, something people can aspire to get if they put in the necessary effort and time.
