Why do people gatekeep this game so badly?
Its really unlike any other game I’ve played. In destiny people seem to mystify things like raids or trials or gms with some elitist attitude like only the “best” should be able to play.
People push against things like matchmaking for stuff which would be an objectively good idea with a voice chat fix like...team game with no way to make a team ok. I think even d1 had an easier system.
There’s a lot of stuff a lot of people are missing that make this game a lot more complicated then it needs to be.
Trials is just pvp it isn’t some big thing. Anyone can play.
Raids are just a long strike with mechanics. Just because someone doesn’t want to have to get there phone and discord just to play a free game doesn’t make you better.
Do better as a community and make things less scary and maybe save this hemmoraging player base and hopefully bungie does too if they realize casual players will bring them money too.
But I also wanna know why??? Why do people get so defensive when raid matchmaking is brought up or making trials a fair mode???

If you want Matchmade raids. Have rewards sure. But don't make them the raid gear. Call it entry level raiding if you will. Raids also require some form of communication an VoIP is the most efficient way. I mean unless you're cheating then that's different. You've gone into scumbag territory if you do that. Trials was never designed to be fair. Something a lot of people fail to accept. PvP will never ever be fair. But people will still beat on about "fairness and balance". You're never going to get it. It's not about being defensive from where I sit. It's about maintaining what's left of the games integrity and pushing a little to get people to be interactive with one another. I found good people while looking through LFG. I even met some really chill peeps while doing my own LFGs for trials a while back. What Destiny 2 needs though more than anything right now? Content / QoL updates / Balance patches that make sense. But we're stuck right now with pointless complaints about the game. Like the overload champ complaint and such.

Edited by RonnieOP: 4/7/2021 2:54:16 PMWe had matchmaking for raids....it didnt work. The reason i dont care for matchmaking with things like raids and GM NF is because it wont work 99% of the time. Look at how simple gambit is and how hard it is to be matched up with people who know what to do. How do you think an actual hard activity is going to be? Its going to be a miserable experience. Its 2021. Theres sooooo many avenues for finding an lfg team that will carry, teach, etc. Make an lfg post about what you are looking for. Theres always going to be people in the same boat. No gatekeeping here. Just dont expect others to want the same thing as you in an lfg team.

you brought up some very different questions, most ppl can get behind making trials fair the problem is more like why is bungie refusing to do so as for MM, it's much more complicated than just "you either want MM or you don't" I want MM for dungeon, I would like MM for 1300 strikes, some activities that doesn't even exist anymore thanks to dcv could work better with MM, but for things like raids and grand master, you would want to have a team to do that don't you? I can't see 3 random players beating a grandmaster with 0 communication during the game and no agreements on loadout

3 RepliesI have done every GM this season with LFG randoms NO MIC besides proving grounds, which needed more precise coordination and hence I had to speak bad english and feel ashamed of it (nonetheless, we did it). But even that would be doable with no mic mM. I would like personally optional MM for everything. Raids are way easier, but the mechanics would make MM pretty troublesome. I don’t see how it could work there.

Raid matchmaking is meh cause some will load in n expect to be carried n make the team worse... Trials is mot at all meant to be fair to the average playerbase Its meant to be a competitive mode where all the sweats try n stomp on one another
