Playing a match and doing great only to lose because you have multiple teammates dropping dumps on the bottom of the board gets old lol
EDIT: To all the people saying no. Why don’t you miss it?

I do think we should have 3v3 skirmish, skill based, like D1. I loved doubles before they removed it permanently from D2. 😒

2 RepliesNo, I don’t enjoy the terrible lag and having to face the best players in destiny 24/7 just because I happen to be good at the game. I want to enjoy myself when I play destiny, I want to get in crucible and just get a few kills using weapons nobody uses. When we have skilled matchmaking on, It becomes extremely frustrating to play. I was encountering a freaking streamer every 3-5 games. Ifrostbolt was usually the one I would see most of the time and sure its cool to face them and learn from facing them or beating them but I don’t want to sweat so often. Crucible now at least has less lag and seeing all types of skills honestly feels like a fresh experience every single time. I cant enjoy a game when I know exactly whats going to happen and what everyone is going to use

1 ReplyIt will be back. Player pop has been on a steady decline since removed. Matter of time.

Edited by Gringo: 1/7/2021 12:44:52 PMWhere are the top 20% going to get their kills from. It's like the Roman syndrome. Feed the bottom dwellers to the lions!! What a freaking joke... Bungo should have both modes and you choose which one you want to go to. Unfortunately they gained a chromosome along the way and don't have the smarts to deal with it.

I only play three matches a week to get my gear. I am usually the one on the bottom. I suppose you can say I try, just not very hard.

6 RepliesNobody misses true sbmm except the bottom 30-40%. I said “true sbmm” because pvp actually has a modified form of sbmm since BL launched. The matchmaking attempts to create equally skilled teams without excluding individual skill brackets from the pool.
-
7 RepliesYes. I’m constantly getting put against the worlds best destiny players, while my team consists of some of the worse. Trials is even worse, and Iron Banner is absolute crap. If you are a casual, CBMM sucks. There needs to be an option to switch back and forth.
-
Not really. I do miss the days of less strict team balancing
-
Not one iota

Gives me a challenge. I don’t like to be coddled, and Id rather celebrate my victories and lament my losses than win because Bungies Algorithm played nice.
-
Nope, although we do get console based matchmaking on Ps5 which brings about similar matchmaking times and latency.

Playing a match and doing great only to lose because you have multiple teammates dropping dumps on the bottom of the board gets old lol EDIT: To all the people saying no. Why don’t you miss it?
Yes, and no. With SBMM on, every quickplay match for me was like Comp x10. 4-5 Unbrokens, Trials players, etc. It got old really quickly. I refuse to sweat in QUICKPLAY for two tokens and a blue lmao. Quickplay is a casual mode for a reason. That's why we have competitive modes. Quickplay should be to have fun and test load outs. There is no incentive to win. SBMM matches took way longer to find and the connection was way worse. CBMM is better but still bad sometimes. I typically play with my PVP friend and we end up 2v6 a lot of matches because our blueberries can't hold their own and get crushed. Even solo is annoying. It's like 1v6, 1v4, 1v3, etc.

3 RepliesI think it shouldn’t matchmake players based upon anything at all. It should be completely random. Like one match you could get all first timers, and another be players in the top 1%. Like it should be completely random and you should never know what you’re gonna get. I don’t see why that would be a problem going either way. I think SBMM in general makes the game less fun. No one wants every single match to feel like a tournament for real money, or to feel like your opponents are so desperate to win as if they’re starving orphans being told they won’t be fed if they don’t win the match. Having it all be completely random would work out better for both parties.

1 ReplyThat’s not skill based matchmaking. That is called lobby balancing
-
I do. After first time in a year I went into Ironbanner. It was completely horrible....4 games that ended before reaching max score, completely annihilated . Not doing that crap again.

Edited by CeramicSugar248: 1/6/2021 2:12:04 PMIn rumble yes the lobby numbers and que times reflect it as well lucky to get 3 or 4 players after a long wait and the lag isn't any better either Sbmm rumble was simply an overall better experience . I'm sure bungie are seeing the falling numbers in their data and will at some point make some changes

I miss actual worthwhile content in the game full stop. Don’t give a fck about the matchmaking, never noticed any change between them

6 RepliesI don't "miss" it....because I've simply stopped playing this game's PvP. But I won't come back to playing it, until it returns. Being treated as cannon fodder is not my idea of fun, and I'm not going to pay for the "priviege" of being used that way.
-
1 ReplyIt will never come back for several reasons. First, there simply is not enough players in any one region to have sbmm. Secondly, there are not enough stats in this game to use as skill because it is all rng based not skill based. Thirdly, without dedicated servers for sbmm, your gameplay is affected by stability and connection issues which impacts any skill based numbers being used. Last but not least Bungie can not get past it’s own incompetence.

Skill based is for sure back. I have played on my own account and a friend’s and the difference was vast. I’m guessing they increased it slightly with the Beyond Light release expecting new players and a larger total player base. My load times for quickly are even long and sometimes the lobby doesn’t always get filled.

Bc when SBMM was a thing I never played 6v6. It was so hard when it didn’t need to be, that’s when I just played survival for no reason. But I got lunas howl by accident doing that. But now I can actually have some fun in 6v6 bc there is no SBMM and if it is restored I’d be having a lot less fun bc I’d probably be destroyed by flawless players left and right and those will be the lobbies I’ll get and that’s not a lot of fun.
