How can it be when I live in Alaska but only match people from Europe or Japan or South America really latency kills are not fun

1 ReplyBecause the CITY that I live in----in the lower 48----has more people living in it than the entire state of Alaska. In fact Its about 1.5x the population of your state.

4 RepliesThe fact the connections have gotten worse since they switched from "SBMM" to "CBMM" just shows Bungie doesn't know what they're doing.

I always wonder how this works. If you play in a fireteam whose connection is it based on? The playstation has a cap to use the full potential of my internet so this will influence match making too I guess? Is Bungie manipulating connections to make it more playable for people with bad internet? It always feels like that players with worse internet have more advantage in PvP.

I live in New Zeakand and played a couple of games yesterday against people in Japan and South America. I was literally watching bullets come straight through concrete objects and walls. It was horrendous.

CCBM means it's completely random and you get abused if you have a good connection IMO. I'm seeing slow matchmaking at times and more lag than ever. CCBM is also a great way of having people form 6 stacks and never lose. Matchmaking should weigh your connection speed, but it should be like a professional baseball player against a pee wee leaguer.

1 ReplyI just live south of you in BC...I’m pretty much stuck playing from 10 am to 5 pm after those hours I get a lot of weird gamer tags..

Same for UK. I mostly match Russians and Americans because they have better connections than my urban UK countrymen.
