Bungie can only control Bungie.net and if you see someone advertising here use the report system yo inform the Ninjas. Bungie has no control over third party sites and can not tell the difference in game from someone playing with team mates or if it is someone doing a paid recovery/carry. Only if cheating was detected or investigated after players reported them can Bungie tell if something was wrong. You are asking the impossible.

  • So what you're saying is that implementing an anti-cheat to prevent recovs / carries that are using cheats to get to the lighthouse is impossible? LMAO. Most recovs / carries are cheaters to begin with. Are you also saying that putting a minimum hour requirement before having access to trials is also impossible? Lmao. What's a minimum hour requirement? 200 - 500 + hours.

  • Bungie can only take action against the account that cheating was done on. This is why we regularly see people complaining about their account being banned. They say other excuses such as "I did nothing" or my favourite "I was hacked" but either they or someone on their account did cheat. So the person who paid gets punished but the real cheater walks away with some money then repeats again and again with other player's accounts that day. This is why Bungie says "account security is our responsibility" so to say "it does not matter who played but what happened on the account is all that matters".

  • That's a step. Now I'd like them to implement a proper anti-cheat to combat said cheats and I would also like them to introduce a 200 - 500 hour requirement before an account can step foot into trials. Bet those cheaters wouldn't want Bungie banning their own accounts. Bungie just needs to be stricter.

  • 1. Bungie talks little about their anti-cheat system and rightly so to avoid giving info cheat creators can use. 2. A certain community manager covered this in a Tweet this week. There are upgrades in the works for their anti-cheat system. 3. I hope Bungie does not say anything about these upgrades and when they are issued so I can enjoy the long stream of "why was I banned" posts clogging up the #Help forum again as like when the last update came in. In the war against cheats silence is what we need.... Well until the screams of the cheaters been banned in another wave of punishments fill the forums.

  • How come you can watch Streamers doing paid Trials recoveries and carries on Twitch if what is occurring is against the rules? Basically every Streamer who is running Trials are doing recoveries and being paid to do so. Obviously this is allowed. Otherwise there wouldn’t be so many doing it.

  • I mean how hard would it be for Bungie to have an employee, search LFG and click on those fire team finders that say......... “Trials carries me$$ege me!” Do the deal, catch the poster and the one doing the carry? I’d like to go LFG for anything and not look at advertisements or spam every time I load it up.

  • Its not that easy. No smart person is going to leave there ign out on a third-party website. The transaction obviously is private. Thus if Bungie started swinging the hammer there would be a lot of false bans.

  • Maybe read what I said. Bungie employee scans the LFG on their site. LFG’s with something like $$$$$ message me for details, clearly means they want money. Which is against the rules. They message said people and do the deals. Easy to ban the people making the post and the ones that would actually carry. Not rocket science. They would eliminate, spam posters on LFG, and people profiting off their game the wrong way. They clearly support the twitch streamers and you tubers which is fine if that community makes money by providing content. It’s the posting on their own site, that annoys me.

But they cant prove 100% if the transaction has gone down. Even so I doubt the person that says that has the account linked. They want money, but they wont be banned in game for it. You cant be banned ingame for things on Bungie forums

  • Ban user/poster from forum. Ban carrier from destiny. What is so hard to understand? It really wouldn’t take much work from a Bungie employee considering they understand the game they made. Even having one person trolling the forums one day Xbox one day ps one day pc. Two days to do reports to Bungie security, and have them take over evidence and process bans. I mean I’ll do that for US $30K/year.

  • It can lead to false bans. Also no one ties ign to forum. They also cant issue bans outside of forums. If led with a wrongful ban due to third party (such as xbox lfg) it can be bad for Bungie.

  • How many times have I said Bungie’s LFG site. Ban the user from Bungie.net that makes the post. Ban the gamer that is supposed to do the carry. It is quite simple to do that. If you say one more time false bans I am muting you. Because the poster is posting for the specific purpose of getting cash for carry. The carry person is breaking the rules, they are most of the time the same person, just not linking their Bungie LFG name with their account. That’s why it is a two fold approach. Can not believe you are arguing this much, like you personally have something to lose if this actually went down.

  • Ok. Not that easy because of f2p. If you look, the posters are all 750. They use the free version to post what they want. If that poster gets banned, no big deal. They just create another f2p account.

  • But the account they carry on gets banned. They going to create a new account and get all good weapons and stuff in a few days?

  • You can get rid of the post but not the carry... you know transactions are private right? Most people dont even post on Bungie forums because its stupid. Its dealt with relatively swiftly

  • I thought this would be easy to see. You just cant issue a player ban if it says “cash for carry.” You dont have evidence if the transaction goes down. But you can forum ban for breaking rules. You cant also ban any of the consumer due to it being private and you would have 0 evidence of the consumer paying.
