Game uninstalled

There is quite the "wall of text here"... Please, exercise your right to not read this post if its not of interest to you and please refrain from making silly comments underneath. We are mostly adults and I appreciate not everybody wants to read lengthy threads. It's all totally optional and I appreciate those who understand that... So.... My thoughts and why I've uninstalled the game: PVE: Bugs!!! disconnects, home screening, players with bad connections and even bad attitudes towards mitiplayer coop modes with a sense that they are always playing for themselves regardless of whether it's a team activity or not. There is no insentive to play as a team anymore. The game is driven by personal gains and personal XP farming or bounty gathering. There is mostly no reason to play for mode objectives. The new guns are underwhelming and often have poor roll options and as they are so weak compared to some of the older guns then there is no point in farming for them anyway. I understand you are going to start retiring the some of the best guns in the game and that leads me to believe there will either be more reskins or the guns that take their place are just going to continue to dissapoint many and make the game feel even less mundane than it already does. Metas: at any given time the majority of the community use entirely the same selections of weapons and gear with no variety whatsoever. This seems to be because the developers are apparently terrible at balancing weapons, which leads to a non optional meta type enviroment. Players gravitate towards the weapons that kill the fastest and maybe that's intentional on your part or maybe its not but either way, it stinks. I'm all for regular sandbox changes but I'm sure alot of your player base would prefer fresh maps occasionally, a good sized pool of useful weapons that can compete and the ability to compete with any architypes they want to depending on their own preferences and not just for fear of getting slam dunked by that seasons most OP weapons. Stomp: ughhh what can I say :/ Stomp is too strong and competely ruins the ability to use shorter range weapons like shotguns or some of the shorter ranged SMGS. Trying to get up close and personal with short ranged weapons and being kicked off the map or smashed into a wall for certain insta death does not feel good believe me. Its demotivating and not everybody wants to camp thirty meters away for fear of getting trashed by a foot or fist slam. Some players like to be in the middle of the action with fast paced game play. Stomp slows down the pace of the game, lowers the viability of certain weapons and demotivates anybody who dies several times to a wall. The loot pool is dated and anything with a Warmind logo is seemingly a reskin of a previous piece of loot whenever something drops at the vendors. Gambit has seen no new loot or maps or gear since its inception almost and the "meta" also never changes inside of that part of your sandbox either. There is absolutely no reason to run gambit unless, again, the insentive is bounties. Bounties: Many activities are destroyed by individual players trying to fulfill bounty requirements as opposed to completing objective tasks. Whether it is players refusing to kill a prime in Gambit, refusing to kill champions in nightfalls, refusing to assist fellow guardians in public events, refusing to capture zones in quickplay PVP, struggling to get kills for a team in a death match or clash or any other activities ect... bounties destroy most of the core objectives of many activities throughout the cosmos and that can be very frustrating when objectives are what some players live for. If objectives were more rewarding then bounties would be less appealing and if bounties were based more on encouraging players to complete the actual objectives then this problem would not exist at all in my opinion. Drip fed content: What can I say... The DLC drops have gotten smaller and smaller and for the first time, with the warmind drop, I genuinely felt like I got nothing. Some slightly modified lost sector's who's only addition was some champions and a damage resistance buff and then, a massive bounty grind that nobody asked for or really wants. Also, the new captains are insanely annoying. The mods don't always work and there is no way of knowing when the unstoppable or overload shots are chambered and so, sometimes I find myself endlessly shooting whilst they pull one teleport after another. It's nothing short of frustrating. The pit continuously drops pinnacle gear that has already been dropped to the players and makes the pit not worth running at all, especially if you're a player like me who does not need any more upgrade materials as I have an abundance of them already. PVP: Bugs!!! Disconnects and error codes and force closes kicking me to my home screen. Trial is yet another reskin and the idea of having trials is not something I completely object to but as with many things of late the execution of this mode is sloppy. It is plagued by cheaters and if they are not destroying somebodies score scards then your disconnects and random kicks do. The matchmaking system in the game is completely flawed and matches new or lower skilled players with sweaty or heavily regular players and the inevitable meta seems to favor, yet again, just a few weapons. The flawless rewards are inconsistent with terrible rolls and also don't meet the expectations of players who anticipated this mode so strongly. Some players hated it in D1 and whilst there are players who looked forwards to this mode reprisal, now many hate it in D2 too. Trials is only viable for the higher skilled players which seems fair initially until you factor in that there is absolutely nothing of any interest going on in the PVE end of the game and so that activity might have actually filled a void if it was accessible to the casual players too. The iron banner gear is again another reskin of destiny 1 gear and besides that it's seriously ugly. I have no desire to farm for it at all. It has some good stat rolls but ultimately it will never stand strong next to the season pass gear. On that note the season pass gear is so strong it renders all other gear farming from any activity completely pointless. The iron banner quest card is still too grindy by the way considering the IB tokens you hand to Lord Saladin only reward you gear that meets the soft cap. It is not pinnacle gear and so it seems completely futile to farm this card to completion. Iron banner bounties like all other bounties in the game, stop players from chasing the objective and so it just becomes a total shit show in the centre of the map where everybody is desperately trying to get whatever kill it is they need to complete the bounties they hold. I repeat as I feel its important, BOUNTIES kill objectives. The PVP arenas are a one shot flash fest and if you're in connection based lobbies you get six stacked by higher or lower skilled players but never your own skill level. If you're in skill based lobbies you get people with Mcdonalds WiFi teleporting all over the map or killing you after you have already killed them. Few guns are dominating the play field in PVP at the moment and that takes away the feeling of a fresh game every match. Instead, it makes every round feel like every other round you've ever played. Again on all modes a lack of insentive to win or play for the objectives but instead bounty fulfilment, quest fulfilment, rage quitters ect.... In brief a few things also missing that are self explanatory: No new strikes in twelve months except for the shadowkeep strike which wasn't great but hardly ever appears in the play list anyways. No new planets since the release of shadowkeep which technically brought us an older planet from D1 with a minor reskin. No new types of AI in forever. Would be nice to be challenged by new enemies, new bosses, new environments. No new Raids with mechanics that really incentivise and even force team work. There haven't been any new raids for a long while but even when you delivered on that aspect of the game you made raids that can be cheesed or one and two manned very easily. No new PVP maps. Just reskins of more destiny 1 content. New maps, new lanes, new modes Finally: I'm tired of feeling bored after five minutes of playing the game. I'm frustrated with you taking my money and pretending to give me something of substance in return. I'm sick of error codes and disconnects from the gaming world. I'm fed up of no direction or objective. I'm sick of farming bounties day in day out. I've said it all year. I won't be here at the end of the season if nothing changed and nothing did change. Enough is enough Bungie. Destiny 2 isn't even a shadow of where we all left off in destiny 1 and yet it seems to be bulked out with destiny 1 content in recent times. Speaking of D1, a game that you sold to me, then moved platforms and sold me again and then soon afterwards stopped developing so that you could give me a tonne of reskinned destiny 1 in a game you called destiny 2. Destiny 2 is a bore festival that wouldn't even keep a boiled vegetable entertained. I'm feeling the relief already. I became so encapsulated by destiny 1 and for four damn years I've been spending my money dreaming of something that lives up to it and you cannot or simply refuse deliver. It's done and my affiliation with your brand is done. If you can turn it around I'm willing to try again but I will need to see changes before ever reconsider. From now on I won't be hanging around on a whim hoping for change and I won't be investing money when I never get any thing significant in return. It will be interesting to see where bungie is going from here but I'll not be riding hype and psych train any longer.
