Put Bastion on the Roadmap, people complain about not getting something secret. Don't put Bastion on the Raodmap, people complain that the season doesn't have enough content. Complain some more please.

  • People will always complain. Like you complaining about me complaining lol. All I am saying is at least the weapon could have been a surprise.

So we’re to believe you avoided all the shit speculation from data mining? You never partake in satiating that curiosity? If that were true, you wouldn’t have finished the quest yet

  • If you're not avoiding speculation or data mining. Then you don't care about surprises, you want to be spoiled lol. Plus data mining isn't new, yet the whisper of the worm was a surprise, at least for me. And I think a lot of people too. NOT everybody gives attention to all that data mining and what not.

Which enforces the idea of the people complaining are complaining because they weren’t spoiled

  • I'm sorry I don't follow you either. I think you missed my point. Let's just agree to disagree here. Have a nice day.

  • I'm not complaining, just pointing out the flawed argument most people have. I am definitely in support of having it be a surprise, like most people, but the difference is that I don't really mind either way. The "forum community" generally sets up unrealistic expectations and simply complains when things don't go their way. Anyone that was hoping to get a new secret exotic clearly did not set up proper expectations for themselves. General rule of thumb, if you are expecting a surprise, it isn't a surprise.

  • Unrealistic? Like expecting a new boss skin instead of using the undying mind from 2015? The disappointment train is only taking off at this point, with Luke Smith as the engineer.

  • The Undying Mind from last season was a complete disappointment, no arguments there. It was something listed on the roadmap as a 'final' activity for the season with no real change other than the Vex Offensive Boss itself. I hope Bungie learns from that mistake. So far, I think this season has done a better job thus far with seasonal activities, I just hope the Empyrean Foundation doesn't have a similar effect. In regards to the OP, the unrealistic expectation was that a new exotic would be the reward from the puzzle. Would it be cool to have a new secret exotic, yes, was it something I was expecting, no. I'm saying that expectations need to be kept in check to avoid the cycle of having the community get over-hyped over nothing leading to disappointment. If you keep expectations in check, I can assure you a new secret mission or exotic will be more exciting if/when it comes next.

  • I agree the community doesn't help themselves with unrealistic expectations. But Bungie is not totally innocent here, they know very well how their community will react to "Events" like this. And even if you know a surprise is coming, NOT knowing what the surprise is can be fun still.
