This Iron Banner was disgusting.
You morons.
You single handedly took a game mode, one that already had tremendous amounts of gameplay issues, and found a way to make it worse.
Control, the mode where teams are supposed to attempt to take and hold objectives, has turned into a mess of a game mode, where everyone plays on heavy and doesn’t play the objective of the game, all because someone, somewhere in your design team decided that making a quest objective where thousands of people need to get rocket kills, and let me stress, not heavy, rocket kills, wouldn’t at all affect the gameplay of Iron Banner.
Is there anyone in that team of yours that has a sliver of forethought, the tiniest bit of experience developing meaningful quests that are engaging in the mode, rather than this abomination that you call a quest?
Is there a point to saying you are ashamed? No, there isn’t, what am I to expect from a company that alienates their player base, claims to listen, then directly and so frequently disrespects the very requests for “feedback” they hypocritically ask for.
You fall nothing short of a company that fails to make an impact, and in a few years, when an actual company comes around, one that listens, and develops a game to engage the players to enjoy the game, you sit in your studio, wondering, ever the fools, as to why your game failed, why it diminished, and why it will yield but not even a stain on the history of gaming, except to be used as an example as to what not to do.
Is this a lot for the sake of an Iron Banner quest, certainly, but is this quest not the straw that broke the metaphorical camel’s back? Absolutely.
Disgusting, terrible and just plain disrespectful. You listen about as well as an abusive spouse, who zoned out as their “significant other” pleads for them to change.
Sure, you can’t please everyone, but you are barely pleasing anyone.

Last season it was the abilities part of the quest. Now its the rocket launcher one. Think its a coincidence? They are not stupid. The are very smart since, WE are stupid enough to keep playing no matter what shitty quest steps they drop on the table. Its our fault... oh dont worry btw, they will "balance" it out next season by making it power weapon kills but they will find something else to "mess up"...

I can’t remember the last time I played iron banner, I just don’t play it. Regardless of it being pvp or pve this company has gotten lazy.

It was terrible choice, worst quest step this iron banner. Took too many games just to try to get lucky and required entire random team to camp heavy. Trash quest to do a heavy drop based step

THis, every time this. Iron banner is so bad right now. How is it possible that a normal game mode like Momentum Control is more fun that every single iron banner . Bungie says it's listening but it's not.

1 ReplyDon’t forget the cheating laggers. Whole teams bouncing around the map unhittable. And of course the always fun losing while in orbit. At least all the normal crappy things about crucible are still there to distract from the crappy quest and crappier rewards.

4 RepliesHow is this any different from normal Crucible? If you play any pvp then you're used to seeing Wardcliff Coil and Truth every match. Lemme guess. You hate pvp but are doing it for the quest?

Max range Erentil / Last Word still works fine. Instead of worrying about getting heavy yourself, pull a D1 and use it to bait the other team in. Half the people that try to grab it go brain dead as soon as they start holding the button down. Either adapt and troll people out that are trying to bounty farm, or hit up solo Survival. At least that's generally fun.

It would be nice if Iron Banner Quests give player something to do outside PvP for once. How about several new missions related to Iron Banner? Get a fireteam of three and beat the hard boss to receive some sweet loots related to Iron Banner? Oh man, that'll be so awesome.

Screw heavy and 1 sided teams ill take on anyone in iron banner with whatever joltunn or fighting lion heck even throw in some play of the games with hammerhead. All i need is my riskrunner! Learn a weapon play it well and dont use anything else then you will get the glory you are looking for. The trouble with pvp the good players stick with their go to weapons and they make sure the secondary weapon compliments their primary and the player knows both better then the back of their hand.

Edit: Gonna try and play it normally now and see if it’s any less irritating. Final Edit: I’m an idiot and/or a glutton for punishment. I got all 3. My advice? Do what Bungie wants you to do, and be a selfish, camp the heavy, use Wardcliff Coil, no shame bastage. It will take you FOREVER otherwise. I did it but it was freakin’ miserable and the opposite of what Iron Banana should be. I think I just had a “you had to be there” moment. Ugggg

I’m speaking with my playtime. I’m skipping IB and 6s in general until sbmm gets toned way down. It is not fun at all. I find it to be very telling when comp is the least sweaty playlist.
