Even if you're some God-level pro player, you'd still be at a huge disadvantage.
You got the whole game's arsenal accessible during PvP, which includes a bunch of juicy pieces of exotics which will wreck anyone you even decide to stare at.
That in itself is an impossible balancing task, it's nothing close to that kind of a problem in any other competitive game. It surprises me that they STILL don't balance PvE and PvP separately from each other as any changes to the weapons will hurt the players in the opposite community. It's also why we can't have nice things.
Also why do supers exist in PvP? Are they there just to annoy you by adding an Easy Mode Panic Button to anyone not as skilled at aiming or strategy? At this point just remove them all or delete the gamemode. There's no reason to ever change up your gameplay by trying out the different subclasses as using the non-roaming Supers which don't last for a decade once activated puts you at a huge disadvantage. They get the health pool of a raid boss and good luck trying to burn them down since there's no way of countering them.
Speaking of skill, competitive is the biggest running joke yet it's running to hell on a mobility scooter, since everything that makes the PvP non-skill based exists in competitive modes as well. The game entices camping out for heavy so you can cheese the match easier. The separate Valor and Glory reputation pools serve no purpose besides to keep you in the game for longer for the grind towards multiple pinnacle weapons. That's an extra layer of the rotten onion which no PvE player wants to be apart of.
Why did they ever decide to force in this crap? Is it some duty to honor Halo's PvP? It's only pissing on it's grave. Was it supposed to be the next CoD-killer? In a world where Activision had buried CoD along with the countless games dead already under their roster.
Nobody with any sense of dignity would want to keep playing this and oh.. gamemodes with level advantages enabled...

Edited by Xcaliber: 12/26/2019 11:44:04 AMI agree with you. I would like to add. Bundgy needs to understand its client base. Offering PVP and PVE content is fine. But PVP and PVE are worlds apart and should never ever meet. In addition have a options for the casual and elite content. Forsaken quest line was PVE, Cayde's will should be a PVE quest or at least split the quest if you want a PVP version thereof! PVE players are forced to get the Ace of Spades in PVP, Yes forced into PVP because that's the only option you are given to get the weapon and to complete the PVE quest line even worse is you are forced to use 1 type of weapon while everyone else gets to use their supers and the entire weapon arsenal while having no restrictions on skill level, gear or mods. Unlocking a PVP weapon in PVP is fine using the same type of weapon is fine however, PVP should be skill based, PVP should have different game modes with restrictions on weapon types and even a option to have supers or not in the matches, else you will have only the meta builds. You have zero chance to land a precision head shot with a hand cannon against a maxed ranked pro PVP'er with a super active or his entire weapon arsenal at his disposal. A new player starting the game will get wiped game after game by max ranked max modded players. Whats the point of having a pvp ranking then, you should be teamed against your rank level. Lastly Rewards should never be more favourable to only PVE or only PVP content or player base.

14 RepliesPve advertised game Pvp should be bare bones no exotic no choice of legendary gear with different rolls. Everybody gets the same stat armour and guns. Only subclass should be chosen and limited to one super per game Nerfs/buffs should be pvp only Matchmaking should be skill based against local players in every game mode Only way it’ll ever be anywhere closed to balanced

30 RepliesWhat I would like to see is an option for all players to be able to get a each weapon etc from what they like to play... For example, the recluse... have a pvp option and a pve option. However, if you choose the pve option and obtain the weapon, you cannot use that weapon in pvp. I'm primarily a pve player, I dont mind pvp but I just straight out suck. What bothers me is the amount of money I have spent and I honestly wont be able to experience using certain weapons etc.

Nobody's forced to do anything. I don't have Luna's or Revoker and won't have Randy's Throwing knife because I don't have the skills for Comp and would not therefore enjoy it. And I have no problem with it. If you don't enjoy a facet of the game then don't play it. If you've done everything in PVE for the week/season then play something else until reset. It's really not complicated.

1 ReplyI’m a pvp player and I’m forced into pve...

There's one buttocked PVP!? I want to try this!

5 RepliesWhats the point of forcing pvp players into the half assed pve?
-
Well, you aren't forced into anything. You want the stuff? Do the activity. It's the same system is Gambit, Reckoning, raids, strikes, the moon, Alter of Sorrow, EP, etc. Literally the exact same thing. You are CHOOSING to do those things. As for pinnacle weapons, they're done. We have ritual weapons now which are good, but aren't required for the meta. You want them, do their activity. You CHOOSE that. It's a looter shooter. Every activity needs incentive. That's the point.

Destiny PvP will never be perfectly balanced. And it shouldn't be, because that would require taking the Destiny out of it. Unique weapons, abilities, and playstyles. The best version of Destiny PvP is the most balanced it can be while still retaining its identity. Take supers out of PvP, it's not Destiny anymore. Idk why you're complaining about roaming supers anyway, after they were nerfed into oblivion this season. The majority of the community agrees competitive, while not even close to perfect, is much better now. Having 2 separate ranking systems (which both work at the same time when you play comp) so you get double the rewards is meant to increase play time? Lmao, ok... There's literally only one gamemode with light level advantages, and it's an endgame PvP playlist meant to be unique. PvP isn't perfect but balance this season is fairly solid. The biggest issue, by far, facing PvP currently is skill-based matchmaking.
-
Same reason why PvP guys have to play PvE for Ascendant Shards, etc. And there's literally only one title associated with PvP so for getting any other title PvP guys have to play PvE.

2 RepliesI thoroughly enjoy destiny crucible. It's unique play style is what puts it so far above the rest in my opinion. I mostly play competitive because I really enjoy 3v3 game modes, and survival is king! I hope you have better luck in crucible.

7 RepliesThey dont force PvE players into PvP though.

https://youtu.be/45sHN69-51A I'll leave this here.. guy speaks alot of truth..

2 RepliesSupers are in pvp becuase they r fun..go away casual

3 RepliesThis guy actually thinks using power ammo in PvP is cheesing. 💀 I hope to never encounter you in this game and that you gain some brain cells. If I do encounter you, I’ll be sure t-bag you.

2 RepliesEdited by rZI3: 11/29/2019 5:14:21 PMHeavy in pvp = cheese 🧀 🤣 must be your bad breath you smell Same could be said about forcing pvp players into pve, game caters to both..... such a stupid rant
-
1 ReplyPvp shouldnt be taken seriously. And if you feel like you absolutely have to use roaming supers and the top tier meta in order to do good.... The issue isnt the game mode. Besides....nobody forces you to play pvp.

I read up to where you said they don't balance PvE and PvP separately. Have you read the patch notes in the last year?

Jesus, ya wanna....cry more??

10 RepliesGo play a pve only game then.
-
Lol. Having a tough time in IB/Survival? You’d think with all these easy mode supers you’d be doing just fine.
-
6 RepliesRoaming supers with the health of a raid boss.. ... . .... .. Ok you def lost me there and something tells me you just cannot be good at crucible. It is ok- this pvp is different. But no- you lost me there. They def do not have good health at all. I actually like shotgun+ melee them to death.

I have to play 90% pve just to power up. Once a month pvpers get iron banner.
