Why can't we matchmake for 950 Nightfalls?
Clearly you don't actually want players to play your content. Why waste my time using an LFG? Umm...LITERALLY just let me match make for 950's. Let ME decide if the lack of communication is an issue and run off to find a team if I feel the need. Stop telling me, "No go make some friends" when matching with players WOULD MAKE ME SOME **** FRIENDS.

Edit: A lot of people are saying "tHeY cAn'T aDd MaTcHmAkInG bEcAuSe Of MoDiFiErS aNd EqUipMeNt LoCkS!" They can add a requirement to have two different kinds of weapon mods before you're allowed to launch. I thought this would be common sense.
Yet another Edit: Bungie's reply is basically: We don't trust players and don't think they will be able complete 950 Nightfalls because alot of you suck at communicating and have no thumbs and we won't give you a chance to prove otherwise by atleast temporarily adding matchmaking and collecting completion statistics.

Gotta love all the "just use LFG". Yes leave the game on go find people to play with because the developer is not good enough to do in game LFG (look at their terrible guided games implementation). At least after years of people yelling about it we got some NF matchmaking finally. As far as the argument "well you might get matched with noobs that suck" so what? Give me the option. And I agree playing that content my clan is better but not always possible. Most of us have jobs, lives, different time zones, etc and can't always get a group going.

I don’t understand why they haven’t implemented a matchmaking system for certain things with a minimum power level requirement. Under 950? Use LFG to do it. 950 or over, you have access to matchmaking. They could have done this with heroic Menagerie as well.

loadout lockout and matchgame i guess is the problem as you will not be able to switch and adjust since you dont know what blueberries are using and by the time you see you cant change because of the lockout.

Agreed. EVERY activity in the game should have [u]optional[/u] matchmaking. Every single one.

because it was really hard to get to 962? Because they can expect people to use the special gun mods for 920 but not 950? That's all sarchasm and I have no real reason why they can't other than once again trying to make something seem more elite than it really is. Can't quite get 100k in the 920 version, have to get a group outside of MM if you want it.

1 ReplyI think I know why there is no matchmaking on 950 nightfalls. 1 modifier comes to mind. Match game. How likely is it that people would know to run a “balanced,” loadout, using all 3 types of elemental types. This is a very big example why nightfalls don’t normally run matchmaking. This 1 modifier alone means if no one is running a counter to a shield type, it’ll be near impossible killing an enemy. This also includes counters to champions, limiting your loadout even further. The only way they are going to add matchmaking to a 950 nightfall is if match game is changed to something else.

They will not risk your mental health by risking you joining a match made fire team and then you deciding to have to try it again with another fire team.......it risks discombobulation. It’d never be cleared, people have a hard enough time on the 920’s that I basically end up carrying them and I’m not the worlds best player. This doesn’t mean the option shouldn’t be there though.

Edited by chrdragon: 10/17/2019 11:58:25 AMactually the whole power thing is broken and does not represet the true power its better asking for basic stats and mods equip currently not mastered gear is all garbage no matter the power of it. mastered gear with proper mods are best. whats more improtant is to check the total stat vaule per equipment using total stat vaule per equipment woud make more sense! anything below 60 is garbage

I can honestly see no matchmaking on raids. But I agree for nightfalls, nightmares, dungeons, menagerie etc., should all have matchmaking or a private match mode no matter what the tier is. People will make private groups to go in regardless of this so I don't see how it would affect anyone that wants to que for it.
