Is crucible really THAT terrible to most people?

How is it really THAT bad to many of you? I've never had any issues with it. I still don't have any issues with it right now. This is the second season in a row I managed to reach fabled in competitive mostly solo. I earned recluse, Luna's Howl, revoker, and hopefully mountaintop in the past 2 seasons. The craziest thing about it all? I don't even use the meta. I'm not a shotgun user, I don't snipe that much, I barely use hand cannons, and I certainly don't use erentil unless I'm just screwing around. I just don't get how people are having such an issue if I'm not. Sure everything is opinion and subjective, but come on, stop complaining so hard and just play.

  • Oh YES, It's awful. D1 was fun pvp, D2 pvp for me is now to be avoided at any costs. Just NOT a fun place for me, so do not go there.

  • I have lots of issues with crucible But mainly super damage resistance And super mods While I do have reckluse, mountaintop, Revoker, redrix which r really powerful, I hate to be on the receiving end of this weapons. This environment is unwelcoming to new guardians that is all

    • I think the '' Eltists.'' vs '' Entitled'' nonsense that I see on here daily has obscured the fact that there are balancing and technical issues in Crucible that do need to be worked on and have no direct bearing on player skill level on way or the other. It's like most players think others are incapable of taking an L without going to fits of hysteria and immediately jumping on the forums to point fingers. It's not that players can't accept the fact that they won't win every match, it's that in competitive settings they want as much of a fair playing field as possible so as not to have to overcompensate and be taken out of their game. Whether it be to being put into spectator mode, or having to deal with invisible Guardians, lag, poor hit detection, taking cover and making the right play only to be taken out by curving projectiles, the inability to get turns and make plays due to inconsistent ttk and so on. These are real issues that players have to deal with. And it's not a fair playing field for either side. The winners or the losers. Of course nothing in life is perfect all the time. And dealing with adversity is very important. But I think it's long past time that we stop blaming players that have real arguments as far as this title and it's pvp is concerned. It's ok to have no issues with the game personally and still say hey, you know what, I hear you, and that's not cool. Hopefully they can address it. I don't see why that is such a big deal.

      • It's really not great. I wish fewer quests required Crucible, or were exclusively one or the other. Also, negative progress is hell for both pve and pvp, but in pvp it can be so much worse with the players that leave early at any sign of losing and joining mid game on losing teams.

      • It's not hard, it just isn't any fun anymore. Everything is horridly balanced and the metas are just getting more and more obsurd.

        1. No proper matchmaking. Every match is a one-sided stomp. Even if you get to be on the winning side, it gets really stale really fast. There's either no challenge, or a challenge entirely out of your league. 2. Stability. Hits not registering, getting booted for no reason, invisible players. Some of these happen more often than others. It's a mess. If I play it in moderation and not take it seriously, I can still squeeze some enjoyment out of it.

      • How can you not see how bad destiny 2 Pvp is. Name in thing good about it. Literally in one game you’ll find: Op weapons Op titans Horrible spawns Heavy ammo all the time Supers way to common Rewarding shotgun apes (wth? Least skill activity in game but shotguns never get nerfed) Horribly unbalanced match made teams No dedicated servers so it’s lag city constantly and host has a huge advantage. Ohk melees all the time for some classes. Only running an exotic for others. How is it good in any way? Keep in mind while destinies gunplay is great no dedicated servers nullifies that in Pvp as it all about connection and aim assist.

        • I personally think it is fine, but this community... Year one: “Waahhh, 4v4 and higher TTK is nothing but stacks laning me! We need 6v6 and way more supers and grenades! Year Two: Waahhh, it is nothing but stacks with Not Forgotten Laning me! And it is nothing but super spam! I personally think 4v4 with a higher TTK requires much more tactical gameplay than the who saw who first situation we have now, but I enjoy both, TBH.

I've been having fun with crucible for a good while now, but then I don't take it super serious like some people and I don't whine like a -blam!- when someone kills me. Is it super balanced? Nah, not really, but it's pretty damn entertaining and a lot of gear feels somewhat viable. (play on pc btw) Supers can be a lil overwhelming, and I would like some larger maps but other than that it seems in a decent place imo. *prepares to be downvoted into oblivion*

Reaching fabled on ps4 is the equivalent of Reaching Guardian 3 on Xbox. Not impressive at all.

It’s not. I’m currently enjoying pvp and qp more than I ever have before.

            • Getting Fabled is easy. Just learn maps and git gud. I generally enjoy crucible in fact thats like the only reason I play so much destiny.

            • My ONLY problem with Crucible is supers. They're asinine and shouldn't be in with how strong they are.

            • It's not that bad. QP is what it's always been. Comp is the only one that has issues, but that's do to player toxicity more than anything. By that mean, there is no point in using team chat, as no one else will use it. Even without communication, players should have some ability to try and work together, but people would rather run off solo like this is freaking COD. You have unskilled players spamming the latest crutch weapon to make up for their lack of skill*cough*LoW*cough*, rage-quitters, etc(of course, there issues do not apply to everyone, this is just a roundabout of issues that do cause certain players to curse PvP). I consider myself a barely decent player, thanks to the nerve and tendon damage in my hand which makes it difficult for me to even react in time quite often, but I still enjoy myself quite often in PvP, solo or with clanmates. You don't need to play PvP to enjoy the game, though you will limit yourself from certain aspects of the game by ignoring it. Also, is it just me, or does anyone else think that there should be a pinnacle weapon for PvP that isn't tied to comp? like they could have made luna's a crucible wide weapon, but take much more time to complete if you did it outside of comp(like reset your valor 5 times, plus make the other steps much less rewarding in progress, etc), and make NF comp only. Redrixs claymore could have stay comp only, while broadsword could be a less powerful version that could be obtained through QP, but much faster to acquire through comp. idk, maybe just me.

            • To be fair, not all of us are good at it, and that can feel unrewarding. I still play, but when I get set up against a team full of people with recluse and luna's howl, and half my team is afk, it can really suck the fun out of it. I don't mind putting in the time to get better, but when it feels like you're just there to give the other team an easy win, it doesn't help. I hated crucible at the start of D1, but the Thorn quest made me dig in and get better, until I had it on all three characters. Nothing in D2 has grabbed me as much, and that might also be that most of my clan quit right after Curse of Osiris came out, so I lost most of my motivation to play. Also, just because its easy for you, doesn't mean its easy for everyone. Some will persevere through sucking and get better so that they can claim pinnacle weapons, and some people are going to find other ways to spend their time that serve them better.

            • They need to address the lag of other players. It really benefits them to have bad connection or lag switching. Played 10 comp matches and every time we’re winning we get ddos. It’s really horrible. Bungie needs to ban hackers immediately.

            • I don't even really touch PvP, but when I have to it's not even that bad. Idk why everyone complains, but I'd guess it's because they aren't really good at aiming.

            • It's not the worst, but I'd say they need more goals and a higher skill ceiling, like just turning nf and lunas howl into emblems and nerfing shotguns.

            • I think crucible is fine, but I think a lot of people don't like it because the meta sucks or they're doing bad. I stay away from it rn a lot because I hate the way it plays on PC, I used to be really into it until I switched. Might get back into it on console later.
