Why does Bungie create Comp in theyr game but then doesnt care/takes care about it?
Ad the Headline already suggests:
Im mad at "Competetive" (if you can even call it that). It lacks everything a competetive PvP gamemode needs, from the basics (like balancing or the ranking system itself) to fun.
Before anyone says:"YoU'rE jUsT mAd BeCaUsE yOu S*Ck" I was fabled 3 (up until the buff of Lord of the wolfs, now "only" Fabled 1 and dropping because of that joke of a weapon) and got the revoker and recluse... so yeah... Im not the best but I think experienced enough to state this:
Competietive s*cks, it is unbalanced (LotW, Titans, OneEyed Mask are way to strong, Hunter abilitys and almost everything else is to weak), the ranking system s*cks (a ranking gamemode NEEDS "ranking in matches" like... well.... litterally any other competetive game/gamemode in videogame history), not really any good voicechat and the list goes on and on and on and on.
Am I the only one who thinks this way or are there any titan mains who only play oneEyed Mask + LotW who want to defend this gamemode and say:"It'S sO eAsY, wHaT dO yOu MeAn?"?

Just realized i didnt list the stupid fact that there are missions that force you to play a certain way/with certain equip in competetive.... yep... wtf...

I agree 100% comp is a -blam!-ing joke. I want Recluse for PvE but it's literally impossible to advance between all the fat sweaty kids, literally every titan with one eyed mask, warlock has 0 advantage, hunter dodge can move the enemy like a mile away, literally every shotgun should just be in the sniper class considering how obscenely far away they can hit, and every 2-3 games I ALWAYS get a person rubber banding. There's a billion -blam!-ing fixes that need to be made and aren't even hard to do, for starters if you have shit internet you shouldn't be allowed in comp. It's beyond unfair. Bungie you said you want to fix your game so do your -blam!-ing job and fix it.

Yeah, I think it's incredibly lame to have all the pinnacle weapons require comp instead of just quickplay. Especially with how bad the matchmaking is. Also sucks because every 3 or 4 matches at least one players leaves the match immediately. Also, seem a lot of AFK players which ruin the match as well and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. The game mode itself is alright though. Just wish matchmaking was better, and wish they'd decrease the number of points you lose in a match so it's less frustrating when people ditch.

Because Bungie has spent the last 5 years fighting amongst themselves, and with their publisher as to what this game's identity is. On the one hand, you have a game on the PVE side that is a MMO/RPG/FPS hybrid. MMOs and loot games are about the accumulation fo power. Which is why many of them don't have PVP....and the one's who do have it, the PVP either has a seperate sandbox or are contests of build-strength....not "skill". OTOH, you have people who want this game's PVP to be the successor to Halo....and its tradition of high-level competition/e-sports. Who want the PVP to be contests of shooting accuracy. The problem is that the game shares a common sandbox....and common player abilities....so the game isn't big enough for both mindsets. Strip the game down so that PVP is a contest of skill....and you break PVE. Which is what Bungie did with vanilla Destiny 2. But let people freely take all the powerful items they acquire in PVE into PVP....and you break PVP for those who want it to be that game of "skill". Which is what went on for most of Destiny 1...and is now happening with pinnacle weapons in Destiny 2. TLDR: This game will NEVER have a viable or satisfying PVP experience as long as Bungie forces it to share a single sandbox with PVE. PVE is the lifeblood of this game...and trying to turn the Crucible into an e-sport nearly destroyed the entire franchise. So until Bungie either seperates the sandboxes.....or basically takes the stance (like Massive does with The Division's PVP0 that the game is an RPG...and that PvP is going to be (all or in part) a contest of build-strength..... ...you're just going ot have an endless succession of complaints about various things being OP....as people trying to tip the playing field in their own direction by weakening other players and crippling play styles they find frustrating. Which is how we wound up with vanilla Destiny 2 at the end of the day.

If bungie changes anything tubers, streamers, and extreme sweats would instantly burst into tears because rather than being able to pub stomp and create faked content they would actually have to be good at the game, once they realised they sucked they would find another game that caters to content creators and bungie would lose free advertising. Been that way since day 1 D1, there are so many easy ways bungie could fix and balance this entire game, but if it doesnt come from the mouth of a tuber or streamer you will never see it. So best thing to do is embrace the suck, troll the shit out of everyone (my fav is to sit in spaen and watch my team get farmed because theyd rather solo rush and die before even attempting team play) , and enjoy yourself. And whatever exotic youre going for just know its not worth it, especially if it involves crucible

Doesn't matter how they try to balance, there are too many rpg elements and for that, one weapon will always be top of the bunch. May not be LotW, Telesto, Luna, d1 Thorn, Hawkmoon, whatever. Nerfs will keep coming and nothing will change. This game is not an e-sport, time to accept it

7 RepliesIt’s actully not bad. I haven’t ran into any glitches yet in comp. I use Last Word and Beloved and get at least 20 kills or so in every game even if we lose. You have to treat every 1v1 as your opponent has LoW. Bait them out by going close to them and then strafe back quick and hit them with a handcannon. Your best friend will be TLW. Also, always be moving as they’ll literally overtake you as a wolf pack. And yes I use OEM because every titan exotic is not so good except peregrine greaves in mayhem

1 ReplyIt's been that way since Destiny 1 when trials was introduced. Trials was the only PvP mode that was constantly abused and had zero care in it. They tried it for like a year an a half with trirlas of the nine then they finally got rid of trials altogether after figuring out the mode is so broken it's not funny anymore. Now comp as become the new trials and has become broken and basically unfixable because the comp community doesn't not want it fixed or for any compromise to be made. There answer is that if X was messed with then what would be the point of comp anyways. The PvP of this game should not be so damn exclusive to people who play 24/7 that it excludes the rest of the player base. Some compromise need to be made now.

3 RepliesLOW on console is meh. I mean its good, but there are better options. OEM i disagree with a lot of people. It's fine, BUT other exotics need to be brought up to its standard. As far as balance, sadly this is something that PVP in this game will never have. It is not cod. They should rename Comp to something else i guess. You can't have RNG weapons and space magic while simultaneously having balance. Things will always shine better than others and thus create metas. It has literally been happening now for 5 years in this game lol.

2 RepliesComp is bad in its current iteration. Full stacks vs randoms is one of the biggest issues. Its amazing how frequently this happens. If there are so many stacks out there, why are they not matched against each other? There is no way Bungie is ever going to convince me that comp is skill based either. Some of the people I've gotten matched with at just heroic 2 play as though they have never touched Crucible in their life, finishing a game with a 0.2 kid. Countdown is a horrible game type and needs to be removed. 6 rounds to win makes the game go on for way too long. It's boring and stupid. And I dont know if it's just me but I constantly get countdown and survival for 10 games in a row. It seems like control and clash have a 5% chance of showing up. This should not be the case. Clash and control should be weighted much higher.

Titan OEM doesn't need an overshield coming from a titan but hunters have by far the best potential in gun fights with shade step and mobility. I use synthoseps because I personally enjoy those more. My biggest issue with comp is when my team spawns with less players at the start and I lose glory. Randoms should not play full stacks. I have them all to except mt. Control also needs removed from comp

4 RepliesDestiny PvP has [i]never[/i] been competitive, and it never will be. Destiny is not that kind of game and Bungie needs to embrace that. There needs to be more focus on fun factor before anything, better playlists and absolutely [b]better maps[/b]. Everything involving PvP in Destiny 2 is boring and only enjoyed by crack babies.

If I win a match it's a miracle, literally my first match in was a defeat, second one was a defeat, third one was almost a defeat. I hate how bungie placed all the cool rewards behind a rank that's impossible to reach unless you're stupidly lucky or extremely good. I'm sick of only having gambit and vanguard weapons I want the cool crucible ones but nooooooo I am forced back into guardian 1. The fact I'm doing the sniper quest and still loosing just makes me even more annoyed like its actually obtainable but it's those stupid glory points. I want wins not headaches and constant heart pounding. Edit: OH LOOKNAT THAT MORE BS LOSSES! I HATE COMP!

There's no balance in the matchmaking it's just garbage. Sad because it should be a fun competitive game. I'm real close to stop playing all together and refund my next season.
