Lol. Anthem is a dumpster fire.
-
Oh no please don't stop playing destiny. You are the sole reason I log on to play!!! Please please pleeeeeaase keep playing, you will be ruining many people's experience if you quit. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

Alright rich, my old mate, I’ll stay.

I predict anthems gonna crash and burn because of their lack of pvp. Most pure pve games do because it becomes impossible to avoid horrible content droughts. That’s what’s gonna happen.
-
cool, but anthem will give me more enjoyement than D2 is giving me right now.
-
Sure. It might. I won’t argue that it won’t because it’s not out yet and I’ll give it a chance, but having no pvp functions gonna kill its replayability. You’ll have to supplement with another game. (Which you could be doing now if you really hate destiny that much) Pvp helps a game because it allows the player base to do something other than grind out everything you can do and enter a content drought. Pvp is a little different because you’re playing people who have varying loadouts and playstyles every game. Boss fights are going to be more or less the same every time.
-
The reason I’m leaving is pvp, my intention has never been to limit myself to one game anyway. In my opinion all pvp does is split the community, TLW quest is proof of that.
-
Think about it though.. assume you play a couple hours a day. By the end of the first two months you’ll be done with the game completely if you play it and only it. Then what’re you going to do? Anyway, this community is toxic is why it’s so incredibly divided. Everything wrong with destiny has been the community. (It was all community driven, from pinnacle weapons to more common and less expansive content updates to slower TTK in the first year to faster TTK in the second, Shotguns coming back into prevalence, overpowered supers, all of it) The thing that’s ruining destiny is it’s own community. That’s what you’re seeing in TLW quest. People don’t want to do pvp... for a gun that is legendary for hunting down and killing other light bearers... are you kidding me? That’d be like asking bungie to add raid gear and exotics into the crucibles loot pool. Crucible fits that loot pool, people are just lazy and want it handed to them and when it’s not, they cause a divide. Pvp itself is not causing a divide. The players are.
-
Why limit yourself to one game? Metro exodus, division 2, days gone, these are just a few great games coming soon, why would I not play these as well? An example of a successful game with next to no pvp is warframe, if the pvp community left no one would notice. I’d blame game design for the split in the community. Pve doesn’t like pvp because of balance and pvp doesn’t like pve because of balance, if you ask me they don’t mix very well, I will admit though the destiny community is very juvenile. I’ve been gaming for 30+ years and the one thing I’ve learnt is that nearly all pvp modes have a toxic community

Edited by bberight: 1/30/2019 7:55:15 PMI agree PVP/PVE combined game has split the community - difficulty in balancing weapons/supers/abilities - of course now Bungie has further fueled the fire with Gambit - a continuous nerfing/buffing weapons/abilities - what a nightmare/challenge for the developer and community. I find myself playing more non-shooter games than before using Switch (e.g. smash brothers, sonic, etc.) and just play "fun to me" parts of Destiny 2. Don't plan to pursue TLW (although would have been nice for collections) - not a top tier PVP weapon anyway (needs a Buff already) - plus I don't enjoy Crucible. Why would I want to kill fellow guardians anyway - lol The theme now of new exotic weapons via quests is disappointing to me - should be available by chance to everyone or at least easy quest like for Thunderlord - of course the exotic by chance % needs a serious buff. Buff/Nerf/Buff/Nerf when will it ever stop - never!
