Cluster Cheese Patch
Bungie,
Please patch this cluster cheese from the last wish raid. It ruins the whole aspect of the raid, and literally degrades the raid as a whole. There is nothing fun about the cluster cheese and I can’t go on LFG without people with 0 clears in any other raids coming to me saying they’re “skilled.” I just want the “endgame,” aspect of the raid to come back, please

3 RepliesTo all the people calling riven a cheese due to cluster bomb rockets.... In d1 in VoG was it a cheese not destroying oracles. Hiding on one side and having the relic holder exploit the clense. Also using Gally to destroy Templar before he teleported? In crota was it a cheese to just stand in the back and spam 5 Gally rockets to insta stun crota ignoring the boomers then running to ONE side to burn the orgres? In kings fall was it a cheese to exploit weapons and blessing of light and touch of malce because it gave unlimited ammo? In calus was it a cheese to send 4 people into the void room when it was CLEARLY intended for 3. Not to mention using sins of the past to one plate dps? The answer is NO. These were strats that optimized damage output and used the provided abilities and weapons available. Same as riven. It's a strat and even bungie acknowledge this

I disagree. The cluster strat makes the raid not such a headache to run. It also requires the player to be of a significantly high light level, which should trivialize most encounters to begin with. LFG is what you make it. Don't want to do the cluster strat? Make your own team. Easy peasy.

4 RepliesI’ve yet to do the raid, but isn’t it optional? Like, I can crush it out quick or I can play through the full experience with my fireteam? And just quickly, however I do end up completing it, how does that affect you?

I did it a couple times that first week legit, and that was enough for me. At this point I just want to finish it as fast as possible for a chance at 1K Voices, so cluster bombing is fine to me.

They wont patch it and i dont care if i do the cheese or not. I find riven irritating and just want to get through as fast as possible

If they patch it they will make it the way we like to play it. People don’t really like the regular way. It’s not call out friendly like other raids because they have too many symbols and eyes. And it is more fun to burn a boss than to grind it. The call outs for eyeballs are completely -blam!-. I think you should have to use wish Enders highlight ability to see which eyeball to shoot. It would make more sense.

4 RepliesI wouldn't call the cluster method a cheese. You're not pulling a cable, switching characters at the right time, or pushing anything off the map ect. All you are doing is dps the boss really fast.

Find a team that wants to do mechanics. Some folks hate all the mechanics, so what.

In a situation where people feel they have to cheese it the design team have failed. The raids are steadily getting more and more crazy. I raided a lot in D1 but I’ve never bothered in D2 because it’s just simply not worth the hassle. It seems nowadays having a mental “worlds first” race for a bunch of youtubers is much more important than forming an enjoyable section of content.

You think they want to spend ANY more time than they have to? If you want to do it legit, start your own group and specify that. I see them from time to time. You will be waiting all night If Bungie changes it, which they probably won’t. It’s not going to make a difference. It’s not like doing it the legit way is rocket science
