Ok that sucked.
Did the heroic adventure got a 582 hand cannon. Energy slot already had 2 582 items. Guess I could bank it off to another character. So continued through the flashpoint and got not only another 582 energy weapon but the exact same hand cannon. To make it even better exact same perk roll.
I'm just going to assume this system is broken. Because all random factors failed. On the first drop I can chalk it up to bad run of luck. But the second had any power it could have used. Eight different slots it could have used. Lord knows how many different options in each of those slots. And an entire slew of perks from there. Literally thousands of combinations and I get the exact same thing. EXACT!

4 RepliesRandom is random. Each drop has exactly the same chance of getting any specific roll. Also if your power level is below what you got (so lower than 582) the 582 drop is valid. I agree it sucks but the system is working as designed. Until everything is a check off list and not just a random list duplicates are going to happen.

7 RepliesWaste of time doing most of the milestones. The daily ones did the same to me on one character 8/9 times and was missing bonds for most of the upgrade process . Stepping in the raid was most beneficial for the upgrade process

I honestly believe they populate the loot pool from week to week. That's the only way I can make sense it. And within that pool some things will have a higher chance to drop.

Seriously, the system is broken af.

Edited by h1r0l3r: 10/22/2018 8:41:14 PMThis happened with me when I turned in tokens for IB. I got 4 of the Talons of the Eagle rifle. 4 rifles...all with the exact same perks. Thankfully I only played IB on my Warlock for the armor set. After these "rewards" I was happy to stop playing.

Hey I could infuse some random fun things.. 3 of the exact same scout rifles is what I got... If it were random... Tell me.. Out of all of the things it could be.. How do I get 3 in a row? That’s like power ball odds...

You'd actually be surprised how many times that happens in a 'truly random' system (nb4 all the programmers tell me you can't program 'true' random, I know this). What people actually want when they say 'random' is 'shuffle' or 'punch list'. I don't mind the random element, because it keeps the game worth playing. In most aspects though, there should be a 'reasonably ridiculous' threshold where the drop chances change. For example, I've been playing fairly regularly since Warmind dropped and I'm still sitting at 38/40 sleeper nodes. I've been combining stems in the place where videos from the gurus say I should for months and no dice. I think Bungie should recognize that I've been diligently running their maze for an adequate amount of time and raise my chances of getting the thing I likely want...
