Hi, I along with several other people have been hanging out in four horn waiting for the quest event to happen. I’ve been through multiple prisoners and glimmer mining operations, and even had enough time to order dinner, have it delivered, and eat it. I’ve done a full round of patrols and helped plenty of people with their mines.
Why would you make a design decision like this? I literally cannot progress until your system spawns this event in a place I can not land or fast travel to. Why would you put other events here? Either you have two teams that are not communicating well or you just made a series of blunders by not playing your own content without internal workarounds.
It’s now 9:54 and I got here around 8 with no event to let me kill 3 captains and get my 2nd character to the dreaming city. This is after an hour of waiting last night. It took me 2 hours of waiting on my first character, and I don’t even want to think about the bother on my third.
To the inevitable posters that say something like: I got it in 5 minutes! Or reload the area! I have reloaded the area after repeat events. Also if you’re lucky it doesn’t make bad design good, it just makes you lucky.
Edit: and another prison cell lands while I’m typing! That makes 2 cells and three miner events since last area reload!

Or you could do what I do and just pay your grandson or friend a fiver to do it and you go to the pub for a few hours. Sorted

1 ReplyIt's a pain. At least you only have to do it three times to unlock it for every character.
-
No, it’s working as intended. It’s proof by the “bugs” with getting a Cabal drill for 9 hours straight. Bungie is laughing at the padded playtime as people chase the preverbal carrot. I swear this game is really a social experiment in herd mentality.
-
I have this exact problem right now. I’ve been waiting for this event for 2 long play sessions. You shouldn’t have to wait for a random event to progress through the story.
-
1 ReplyI know you've said you tried reloading and all that, but have you tried physically quitting out of the game and trying to go back in? I had to wait a good 20 minutes for mine, but I didn't have any repeats of other events during that time. So maybe your session is just bugged.

Go to four horned gulch wait and it will pop there only two events that spawn there the one you need and the glimmer and imo the one you need spawns the most. Stop going to who knows where doing who knows what in the shore then complaining it's not working tbh you might be the first with this problem because you didn't full read your task. Just the task but not where

I got my Titan to the dreaming city last night, saw there was a PE at 4 horn, traveled over and was able to get 1 shot on boss before he died. then got the notification that I completed the task and could move on.

I learnt this lesson with the Sleeper quest in D1, -blam!-ing Warsat public event on Mars took forever to show up.

2 Repliesyou all paid for half assed dlc. I have 0 simpathy. Bungie has a clear record they are only going to give the consumer bare minimum, and then time gate all of it to make it seem as you have full game. I didn't buy forsaken as I should have had all of it buying the season pass and base game. Keep crying. boycot bungie

1 ReplyYou can’t do anything in dreaming city with your little lights. I guess your next post will cry about end game activities being soooo unassailable to you kind?🤔
-
3 RepliesStill not as bad as waiting for taken on io for 10 hours. My suggestion, go do other stuff and after you finish, check the map if an event is incoming
-
Way too many stupid decisions in a row have caused me to play very little of this game. poor RNG rewarding, bad infusion economy, power level set too high for activities etc.
-
Yea but at least they made the loot drops rewarding. Oh wait.. 🤐

1 ReplyGot some bad news for you. If you ever even consider looking at triumphs to et closer to scoring a player title, takes quick look at that event. I've done it with all three characters a couple times went to check in progression...... 1%
-
Do you know what else is terrible design? RNG

Completely valid complaint and I agree with you. I got this so fast my first try that I didn't even know other public events spawned there. Then on my second character I got drill after cell after drill for about two hours before getting the ether event. It's a pointless waste of time.
-
Man I got lucky. First event on my first character and 2nd event on my 2nd and 3rd. It is a bad design though sense the events are random and while you usually shouldn't have to wait long just like with the whisper quest there are harsh outliers and considering this instance it stops story progression that's pretty bad. Should have only had the one event spawn up there.
-
It's a pain. At least you only have to do it once per character.

10 Repliesit's a pretty common quest thing in most mmo games, where you have to wait around for a certain enemy/encounter/event to happen for the quest. not everything is supposed to be done instantly.
-
It's kept you playing for hours, so it sounds like its doing it's job, lol
-
I’ve gotta say, I’d much rather have an extremely difficult mission or something that takes time to do, rather than just sitting around jacking off waiting for some slight chance of an event popping in. I feel that If it was difficult, but guaranteed it’d be worth it

2 RepliesGotta love the moronic comments about how D1 mars warsat was a thing as if it invalidates the issue. Pro tip it doesn't, it sucked then and it still sucks and is completely stupid to have in the game.

Couldn't agree more.
