Raid Rant: I remember when Normal Mode Raids we’re designed to be complete-able by casual players as far as power level was concerned. The determining factor was the ability to focus and manage the complex mechanics of a raid. Then the Prestige/Hard mode was slightly redesigned so that it would be geared for the purely hardcore players. I am very disappointed that Bungie has changed it so that the mere thought of a raid is reserved for the hardcore player only. And at launch of the last two raids it is increasingly for the most extreme hardcore. But the real disappointment is that the difficulty doesn’t come from being able to follow the mechanics, it’s actually from the Power level req at launch.
This raid should’ve been 540-550 at launch. Not 560 from the start. They could’ve then made a Prestige mode at 580+ and leave that for the extreme hardcore only. A 19 hour raid is impressive for those that finished it, but it does not instill desire in players to even bother attempting it. It is no surprise that there are so many players that have never even attempted Spire of Stars. The 11 hours first clear on console contributed to that. Well, the 19 hours for this one, only 2 teams with Day 1, and the hyper complexity will ensure that even more players will claim this raid as off limits for their entire guardian destiny.
Bungie knew that not a single person would even meet the min. power req, so they should’ve just made it available a week or two later or made the power req more realistic. Sry disappointed in Bungie. I don’t understand what they hoped to accomplish by difficulty through level rather than by design. I think the design difficulty was there, and that’s what makes Raids shine. The power limiter is not an challenge with excitement.

Everyone is just under leveled for the raid, which as many people seem to forget is an endgame activity. Endgame meaning as in its one of the last things you’d do. Obviously it’s not going to be available to everyone when it was first released.

20 RepliesWhile I agree that the Light requirement was too high, remember the Leviathan and how many people hated it because of how easy it was and was aimed towards casual players. People wanted Bungie to make Destiny for hardcore players and make it hard.

Edited by Cinderchar: 9/16/2018 2:51:39 PMThey might as well have just given the title to Redeem without making them even do it. It’s not hard to be world first when there isn’t eve any competition because the only real requirement was being high level enough which required a 100 hours prep. They needed to make the raid accessible to everyone with the highest emphasis on puzzle solving for this to be anything special. It was basically just two steamer channels competing for it. But hey, they get to feel high and mighty with a 5th title that 1 out of 10 people couldn’t even tell you what it was. Glad that’s what this game has been reduced to. Basically a jumbled mess with little explanation from Bungie so that streamer channels can make guides on how to power level and beat things while offering free marketing to Bungie.

10 RepliesI’m pretty sure when everyone is max light and this is easy as fu&k to do, everyone will be doing it and nobody will bitch and moan about how hard it difficult it is. Vault of Glass when it first came was nearly impossible. Most brain breaking raid at launch EVER!! Got to the point where no one even needed a mic to run it. It was super easy, fun and people were knocking it out quick as hell. For Christ sakes let’s level up before before complaining about how it’s not fun. Everything is hard and shitty and BS when you’re 20-30 light under the recommended power level. The nightfall this week wasn’t fun for me, when I get leveled up a little bit more I won’t get one shot and we’ll run through that like it was nothing saying “remember when we thought this was hard”. LMFAO

2 RepliesWhy dont you hold on the complains untill you are around lightlevel 580-600 and still find it to hard. We are not even at the correct lightlevel yet.... Look at it as a carrot, maybe you are not supposed to break the raid at launchday, maybe it’s supposed to be a glimps of what to come when you actually has the correct level to do it. I was busting my head for four hours at launchday, i learned the mechanics but it was to tough for us to break at 530 lightlevel, it will get easier and easier thou the higher I become, that I’m sure of. Be a little patient.
-
4 RepliesYep, and the team that did complete it only got to that power level by exploiting the prime engram glitch.
-
5 RepliesSo, you are saying the raids aren't exciting because you can't complete it yet? That's completely logical... What is with all the cry babies on the forums in the past 10 hours?
-
I actually find the raids to be very exciting and even though I can’t do Last Wish yet, I’m getting pumped to try and get past the bosses
-
You salt babies are literally getting more ridiculous by the minute.

1 ReplyHonestly, I liked this World’s First raid. The absolute best PvE clans got to complete it the first two days, and we saw a very interesting race because of it. Clan Redeem deserves their title, as this was easily the hardest race yet, simply because of those mechanics. The only thing I ask of Bungie is to not go overboard and create a Naxx 40. That would be hell.
-
If the rewards aren’t worth it, no one will be playing it. I hope they bring back good guns at higher level. I have no doubts my clan would have been more interested in completing the Spire raid had the reward been more than a shitty sidearm.
-
Edited by countycheese770: 9/16/2018 3:00:56 PMI never attempted Spire because the reward wasn’t there. The first team to clear Vault of glass did it over the course of 2 days. But when I was READY I ran that damn raid every week on 3 characters and more because I had friends who weren’t able to to run with us at the time. Light level/gear score does matter, I don’t mind waiting to do something until I’m properly leveled for it. Not to mention, after a couple weeks there are plenty of videos about “How to complete the raid” and those help tremendously.

2 RepliesThey only had 12 jackets so they had to find a way to...make the first raid day challenging. Lbs..not only was everyone underpowered and unprepared. Bungie still released the raid, and gave players 24 hrs to beat a raid for a jacket and an emblem......I'm d.u.d. dead.
-
2 RepliesOmg boo -blam!-ing hoo. Play the damn game and have fun. When you get there you get there. You dont need it handed to you Nancy

Edited by RingersCheckmate: 9/17/2018 6:07:18 AMLast wish still excited me, I’m just not ready for it week 1. I’ve accepted that, I did the same thing for kings fall and VoG. Take a breather man. Remember VoG was 14 hours for a worlds first race
-
6 RepliesThey are completable by normal players.. just not on the first god damn day like my god. In 2 weeks half of the DPS check encounters like Molgeth and Kali will be so damn easy. Just THINK with your brain before you type the words out okay? Thanks.
-
5 RepliesWhy are there so many posts like this? It’s like people don’t know what “end game content” means.
-
Or you could just wait a couple weeks then *BAM* your high enough level
-
4 RepliesI stopped reading when you said the raid should have been 540 at launch.
-
I'm not even thinking about it for a few weeks. Seems like there's lots to do until then. We shall see.
-
8 RepliesWhy does not being able to compete for world's first, bother you so much? Just take the time you need for you and your team to be high enough, and run it on your own time. Does an emblem, belt, or jacket, really mean that much to you?
-
1 ReplyWell, i honestly don’t see the problem as i usually wander into a raid after it’s been out for four months, there will always be someone out there that will beat it day one, why worry about it?
-
1 ReplyOh god...someone put these kids to bed. No more threads about how you couldn't raid this weekend...
