GUYS NEW LORE INBOUND
The reveal for the dreaming city shows the queens techuns are now taken. We are finally getting more taken lore. Also, we will see taken ogres more often. What do you guys think the implications of taken awoken could be?
Edit: I hope the big hive wizard they showed isn’t savathun. It is a nice character model, but it’s too soon for a big bad like her.

It’s not “Taken Awoken”. It’s just a Techeun corrupted with Taken energy. There was Grimoire back in D1 about the Techeun’s being a part of an R&D experiment to understand Taken energy better. Maybe this is one of the test subjects who’s escaped and ran to the Dreaming City for some reason? Maybe whoever’s commanding the Taken lead them there.

Something that always bothered me about the Awoken, they’re basically “half borns” touched by the darkness but saved by the light at the last second. I always wondered if the Awoken were what the darkness was trying to accomplish; it’s own form of “warrior” like how we are with the light.

3 RepliesThat the awoken is taken has huge repercussions in the destiny world. Does that mean that savathun can take humans? The population could just be taken and we would lose. So much lore in this new expansion I am so exited about.

the taken lore was suppose to be in there since TTK in d1.. oh wait bungie fired rehired fired then the guy quit, so no full detailed correct lore was givin then until now, where theyll make crap up just to keep the Pbase entertained

13 RepliesWe also have to remember that Savathun isn't as powerful as Oryx was, at least according to the Books of Sorrow. Savathun was all about cunning and trickery.

You DO understand that they are retconning lore right? This isn't them giving you new lore as much as it will be them adjusting all the old lore to match the upcoming narrative, which won't be a good one

Maybe a raid boss but not savauthan and tbh I don't think she has control of the taken just from what happened in the whisper mission I don't think she is the taken leader possibly something to do with them but not their leader I have a theory about that and I hope to god im right

You say that, and I think you are right because revealing Savathun would help sales and they didn't, but TTK came out around this time in D1, so I think the timing would be no issue.
