So I've heard a rumor that our current weapons and armor may not be included in the mod and random rolls update coming in the September update/expansion. This sickens me just a little bit. I'm not ready to part with my Better Devil's and Manannannananannananan SR4 combo, nor will I be when September rolls around. So why is it that we can't update popular weapons from Year 1 going into year 2?? Why am I hearing that I'll have to leave all my favorite weapons from year one behind if I want to progress in year 2?? Are all my masterworked legendary favs only going to be usable in PVP like what happened in the year 1 to year 2 transition in D1, all made useless by power level limits??

Also curious about this. This is my single biggest question/concern regarding Forsaken, and I know I'm not alone.
-
They wont be taking exotics out, only legendary weapons, and even that is a maybe. If they add a universal perk set for each weapon type and then the randomization algorithm they wont need to take anything out.
-
1 ReplyI seriously doubt the rumour is true, since we did see old weapons and gear in the collections during the ViDoc...
-
8 RepliesSo I grinded past 2 days for these armour ornaments that will be unusable in a couple months?
-
8 RepliesWhat they will probably do is leave current weapons intact, but limit how high you can infuse them or something stupid like that. Or maybe they will do like they did with felwinter's lie and just change shot package to some random crap... Mine got surrounded as the perk instead of shot package. It'll be interesting to say the least.
-
9 RepliesI am not down with leaving old weapons behind. I begrudgingly did it 9 months ago... not again. Bungie had to learn something about respecting their players' time and effort. Right?
-
No, but that's not a problem. Now that jellyhorn will make its greatest comeback ever!!!

Edited by kaleb730: 6/10/2018 2:54:36 PMI assume you’ll be able to infuse up to the new light level, but year 1 stuff will still have static rolls and just have the current mods. Or maybe we’ll have to get a year 2 version of Better Devils or Manannan to drop? Guess we’ll see.
-
5 RepliesNo matter what the rumors may be for now, expect a reset. If it doesn’t happen? Good. All of your Y1 stuff carries forward. If it does happen, at least you mentally braced for it. With all the changes going about, I wouldn’t be surprised if stuff got left behind. There’s a chance they’ll be reintroduced later, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
-
Well I don’t think any of us know if that’s true yet. BUT, if it is that’s lame. But you cans still use them. I would imagine you can infuse hem and bring them along. I’m just using logic here. Then again, Bungie does make facepalm worthy decisions so who knows. Just be careful. The criticism police are out in full force lately. Don’t say any mildly critical of the game or they will assault you with their feelings and nonsensical hysteria.

3 RepliesI remember posting about how dropping year one items in D1 was a mistake because it only limits the loot pool to a few items instead of expanding upon it and giving players more options to customize their appearance. Wanna know what happened? People called me a whiny bitch and told me to suck it up because other mmo games do that all the time. Can't wait to see the outrage if Bungie decides to repeat that same mistake again.
-
2 RepliesThe way I think it will work is: Year 1 guns will keep their static rolls. We will be able to use new gear to infuse the year 1 gear to a higher level. Year 2 guns will drop with random rolls.
-
1 ReplyI swear to God if they do it again....after letting players keep their gear from TTK to RoI back in D1? This would be the DUMBEST move they could possibly pull off. Even worse if they make endgame activities like EP or the Leviathan raids obselete too. Forsaken may not be able to compensate losing all Y1 gear and activities. Not to mention massive backlash.
-
3 RepliesThat would be a dumb move on their part. It would make all the catalysts and exotic weapon quest weapons (sleeper/polaris) completely pointless. It would make everything pointless. Then again, they did it in d1. I wouldn't put it past them to do it again in d2.
-
I’m sure you’ll still be able to infuse your Y1 gear to get up to Y2 light levels. They’ll just stay as static rolls though
-
6 Repliesif so, unlike i didn't in D1, this time it will be the end for me playing this filthy game...this game was never only about fun, but felt often like a job, when it was for the grind and now one has to leave all stuff behind one sweated his a** off to get? all the effort disrespected and getting a -blam!- you? if so, i'm happy to return it and say -blam!- you bungle!
-
1 ReplySo why am I even grinding EP gear, and weapons if I can't bring it forward to year 2?
-
Why did I spend 500 hours in D1 to have it all thrown away in year four of a ten year game?
-
3 RepliesIt's a conversation that hasn't happened yet, so all of this is just speculation. But then again that is how bungie do things so.

Would you look at that... someone finally looking through the cracks on this one. I’ll pop some corn and wait to see the shit show. I’m so excited for this expansion simply because i want to see all the people on this forum defending bungie off of one video realize how ridiculous they made themselves look.

6 RepliesThey haven't confirmed or denied it. Stop spreading rumors.
-
1 ReplySomeone didn't play The Taken King
-
1 Replythey did it before.I'll miss Uriel's and Last hope and that's about it.
-
10 RepliesHonestly, I wouldn't mind a bit. Our armor right now is lame and ugly, what i think when I see the forsaken armor is badass space pirate. And I'll take new random rolled weapons any day over static weapons
