So I've heard a rumor that our current weapons and armor may not be included in the mod and random rolls update coming in the September update/expansion. This sickens me just a little bit. I'm not ready to part with my Better Devil's and Manannannananannananan SR4 combo, nor will I be when September rolls around. So why is it that we can't update popular weapons from Year 1 going into year 2?? Why am I hearing that I'll have to leave all my favorite weapons from year one behind if I want to progress in year 2?? Are all my masterworked legendary favs only going to be usable in PVP like what happened in the year 1 to year 2 transition in D1, all made useless by power level limits??

Don’t need a YouTube vid to tell you this. Reuse and reskin is the plan. Oh and don’t forget the engram system too, almost the same shit over and over again. I want to play this game again SO BAD!! But I’m not putting money on this. Not anymore.

2 RepliesThat would suck. What's the point if they're not carrying over the previous weapons? Also, that's what I ran for awhile but infused my Mananananananan into my Nameless Midnight and can't get another one to drop no matter what I do. :(
-
4 RepliesThey're rumors started by people with little to no information on the update. Guess who has little to no information. It starts with every and ends with body. We'll wait and find out more.

10 RepliesRemember this Deej Bungie Weekly Update 12/04/2014: "In the months to come, your quest to become more powerful will have more avenues that lead to satisfaction. The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected."
-
3 RepliesThey won't answer this question, because they don't want us to stop grinding stuff until Sept. They will play dumb about it, just like the end of D1 Y1 and the of D1.
-
5 Replies“We haven’t figured out a way to tell you that we’re resetting all your gear for the third? fourth? time, so we’ll kick that can down the road a ways to get as many pre-orders as we can before we piss everyone off.”
-
1 ReplyIt would make a mockery of the free update for all if that is true unless existing weapons could still drop with a god roll at existing levels in existing content? I have long argued as to how to random rolls will benefit those who don't get the xpansion but just been shot down in flames by the defenders. "Those updates are free for all players. Pay attention and stopping criticising BUNGIE for the sake of it"
-
I would say save all your faction tokens and gunsmith parrs..... but knowing bungie they will change the system just so we cant have a ton to turn in after the update
-
7 RepliesIf D2 year 1 items are left behind, I am done. I can’t imagine Bungie would do this again.
-
I hope so. I'm not a big fan of the guns and all now. I also like trying new stuff and not relying on the same weapons forever.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Turt: 6/10/2018 2:54:59 PMI’m glad someone shares my love for the Mannanananananannanananannana SR4

Nothings comfirmed yet, so don't go getting your hopes up.

Edited by R3_MlX_3D: 6/10/2018 5:59:25 PMThe weapons we have now suck so it’s not a great sacrifice for what we’ll get in return. They were super easy to get and they have static rolls and boring perks. The exotics will be brought forward and the armor is the most pointless shit in this game no perks just looks and they look ugly. If we have to loose the garbage from year one to get the new stuff then I’m more then fine with it and I pretty much have all the guns in the game except a select few. Let’s not loose focus on what is important. When taken king came out and did the same thing it wasn’t that big of deal and the weapons we left behind were insanely better like fatebringer, black hammer and vex mythoclast.
-
They are probably going to do this because year one weapons don't fit in with the new year 2 weapon system. The new system has a different masterwork progression and there's apparently new weapon mods in addition to them being able to be in any slot. It's more than likely just too difficult to apply all that to your year 1 better devils or bringing those weapons forward limits what Bungie can do creatively. If they are doing this it's for a good reason. Not the forum cynical "they're just trying to extend my grind/make us suck/ruin fun" or whatever people are going to inevitably going to conclude as a reason. Just go with it.
-
1 ReplyThat would require too much work by Bungie...they’re not into that. Much easier just to leave things as they are and just pile on new things. After all, we know full well that they did the same thing in Destiny and didn’t give two crap...much like the development of 2, they’re just not that interested in quality, just quantity.

This is what I've been trying to figure out. At first I was thinking old weapons/armor will not be effected by the changes. But they must if changes are available to everyone right? If you don't own Forsaken I doubt you'll have access to new weapons and armor or will you? So many unanswered questions.
-
10 RepliesYou already own them. Exactly how do you propose to give random rolls to weapons you've already got? They'll be infuseable so where's the problem?
-
5 RepliesI'm sure some players that have pre ordered the Forsaken and are reading this thread will be kicking themselves. You were warned.....
-
I am pretty sure it will. Random rolls are available to anyone regardless of what DLC they have.
-
1 ReplyThey’ll be able to be infused to max level, what people mean by they won’t be updated is you won’t be able to put a random roll on the current masterwork you have, you’ll have to get the gun again to get a new roll on it
-
1 ReplyI would assume that vanilla weapons will have random rolls AFTER the expansion drops EX: September 30th you get a new Better Devils. That one has the random roll but the one you’ve ad since CoO doesn’t get a new roll
i did not hit her I did not
-
3 Repliesmy opinion is that it is totally fine. looking at my inventory, i can’t find one weapon that im bummed about leaving behind; they are all lackluster guns with no souls and boring rolls. The current guns will be just reminders of a low period in destiny’s life span.
-
1 ReplyYou also most likely wont be able to switch your old weapons into the other slots. I think they are just going to introduce more weapons that can go in weird slots.
-
Honestly as they are already established they probably won’t be changed. More common knowledge than anything. A way to differentiate between paying customers for the next dlc and everyone else. While it will be in the “update” the new random weapon rolls will only pertain to weapons from the dlc and beyond. No current weapons will be random rolls.
-
Also curious about this. This is my single biggest question/concern regarding Forsaken, and I know I'm not alone.
