So I've heard a rumor that our current weapons and armor may not be included in the mod and random rolls update coming in the September update/expansion. This sickens me just a little bit. I'm not ready to part with my Better Devil's and Manannannananannananan SR4 combo, nor will I be when September rolls around. So why is it that we can't update popular weapons from Year 1 going into year 2?? Why am I hearing that I'll have to leave all my favorite weapons from year one behind if I want to progress in year 2?? Are all my masterworked legendary favs only going to be usable in PVP like what happened in the year 1 to year 2 transition in D1, all made useless by power level limits??

If you really played D1 you would understand this already. They did the same thing with the TTK

6 RepliesIMO the gear in this game was cheap and lazy that they even used them again as "new gear" in the recent DLC. WTH were they thinking lol. A Titan is supposed to look like a Warrior, not Buzz Lightyear. So if they are going? Good! hopefully, they will create some actual gear worth grinding for.

Edited by FdYAcsoyPKN83gLE: 6/11/2018 2:18:31 AMI would like that! Its something I feel has to happen to work with the "new" system. I won't miss the old weapons that much, I felt like they are all pretty average, and are something I will not care about in the future.
-
1 ReplyI dont care. There is new and more then likely better loot to grabbed. Never get an attachment to my gear, aslong as my armor looks cool as hell. I'm good with any better weapons. Besides the GL I dont like it.
-
Would I care if all our weapons got left behind for Y2? Nope not at all. I honestly didn’t mind it when it happened on D1
-
6 RepliesIf we keep bringing legendaries forward one of two things will happen: 1) The new guns will have to be so good they make the game less fun to play. Or 2) The new guns are same or lesser than our favs and thus there is nothing to grind for, which makes the game less fun to play. I’m for leaving legendaries behind each year.

14 RepliesSo, just to be clear, you pulled this out of your hind parts with no actual reference-able and reliable source for the information? Cool. So just to be clear, you are the shape of a jelly doughnut. I heard it on good authority. See how dumb that is?
-
1 ReplyThis only happened in D1 because some weapons in year 1 were really powerful and they didn't want too powerful weapons, especially legendary ones that outclassed all exotics (original black hammer). I doubt they do it again in D2, but maybe.
-
1 ReplyD1 year 1 stuff did not move forward either after the year 2 DLC dropped. You’ll have to wait until year 3 to have your favorites return, but nerfed for unknown reasons
Fatebringer
-
1 ReplyI think they meant that they won’t be reworking the random roll and slot changes to the year 1 stuff. But you will be able to use all your legendaries and stuff. Just in the same slots they were.
-
This is why I stopped playing D1.
-
Back in the D1 days though you couldn't infuse.. That was something introduced to D1 further down the line.. But we've started D2 with infusion, so, fingers crossed!
-
11 RepliesBut we must buy previous dlc to play Forsaken, dlc that has gear which will be be obsolete in Forsaken. Let that sink in.
-
Just a rumor dude
-
Same thing when TTK dropped. But we had to re-earn some stuff; for example, hawkmoon didn’t roll over to the new light level. You had to get the year 2+ version. I think this is due to the major overhauls that happened at TTK and will be happening again with Forsaken. Don’t fret about it too much. It sounds like they’re adding plenty of things to replace what you have now. But I get it, what’s the point of grinding for things that won’t roll over in just a couple of months, right? I know. I know.

2 RepliesI read this in a comment from bungie on twitter, which makes the grind for escalation gear pointless...and that just came out. I got my rank 50 for the sunshot catalyst ill be putting the game down for other things until the forsaken release and reviews before I decide to purchase another expansion or log back on for that matter.
-
1 ReplyYou'll have to pry my old fashioned from my bloody dead hands
-
2 RepliesDon't know people are bitching about this. This happened in D1 when TTK came out. For some reason people feel like they have to carry the same weapon and gear set throughout a games' lifespan. Then complain about there not being enough new gear and weapons. 🤦
-
1 ReplyI'd you closely watch the reveal you'll see the legend of acrius and the character is around 562 ish so I think we'll be able to bring our shit up
-
9 RepliesIt would be nice to get clarification from Bungie. After all, they made out gear obsolete with The Taken King and Destiny 2. All indicators point to them doing it again.
-
Why are you worried? You know dam well we're getting reskins anyway...
-
2 RepliesI suggest to start saving gunsmith materials planet tokens and masterwork cores
-
1 ReplySo to be clear you heard a rumour This is how fake press happens
-
18 RepliesI’m indifferent towards losing all the stuff vs all new stuff. I can’t think of any legendary weapons in D2 that are iconic enough with their current rolls that they matter. Are there guns I gravitate towards? Yes, absolutely but none are Fatebringer, Hung Jury, or my personal favorite Cocytus. Hopefully, if the old guns do come back with random rolls that some will become memorable. I’d love to see a Frontier Justice with more exciting stats or at least a roll that makes it a gun I form a memory with in the game.
-
No one actually knows. Wait for Bungie to answer it. Just remember, though, that if Y1 guns go away or can't be infused to Y2 standards, that's a consequence of demanding random rolls, so, as always, be careful what you wish for.
-
Eh. Happened in Y2, May as well just expect it and not whine
