Warmind will be a 20$ expansion, so don’t expect TTK-style changes. Jokes on you for jumping on those fake leaks and building your expectations on that. If we don’t get a new enemy race (which is still possible) later today, don’t be disappointed. “New enemies” does not mean “new enemy race”. It would be wasted potential, but I would be ok with it. It’s just a 20€ expansion. The big changes we need will take time, ok?! Bungie now has the feedback they need, what they do with that and how good the changes turn out is up to them.
And on old exotics returning: it’s ok. Never have old exotics been marketed as a prominent new features of the DLCs. It’s not like we get less new gear because of that. You still get all the new stuff you would expect from a DLC like this (wich you paid for) and old exotics returning are a bonus. They just briefly appear in the trailers, just to tease us. They are not a main feature.
If you think the game is dead, feel free to leave and maybe come back in September. If you still hate what you see, ok then let go. Let go of the game you hate with all your might. It will feel good. I’m looking forward to seeing the three maxed out characters from ya’ll in two weeks from launch, even though you keep saying how you hate everything about the game.
Bye folks
After stream Edit:
Yes, we got “reskinned” enemies. Again, it was never said that we would get a new race of enemies. Expecting that from a small expansion is too much. If this is justified or not is a different conversation, but the ice Hive are no surprise based on the past. 20€ Expansions have NEVER introduced something amongst this scale. Heck, even TTK “only” introduced the Taken.
Enough bad talk, Warmind looks to be a step in the right direction and a upgrade from CoO. Looking forward to explore Mars.
Stay active guardians, make your (constructive) voices heard.
Another update:(ignore if you don’t care)
Thanks for all the opinions, discussions and people proving my points. I had honestly lost all hopes for these forums after reading them today (which inspired me to try to make things clear from my point). But it’s good seeing people that think like me and being able to have normal discussions. I may make more posts if you’d like me to, don’t know about what, we’ll see.

1 Reply"Make loot easier to get. I dont have hours a day to play and I should be rewarded just like anyone else." Bungie: Ok bro, here you go, Destiny 2. "Theres nothing to do I finished everything and light capped in a week. Theres no rare loot to grind for." Bungie: Ok bro. Heres some rare-ish NF loot to grind for. "I've done the NF 100 times and haven't got the drop! Wtf bungie it's too rare" The community is the reason Destiny 2 released the way it did. You asked for casual BS, you get casual BS. No one is ever happy. You all complain about $20. It's more expensive to go out and eat. What do you get? 30 minutes of your taste buds thanking you? What about that gram you just bought? 2 hours of a high? This DLC will give you many, SO MANY more hours than that, yet you will still complain... about $20. Grow the **** up.

24 RepliesI always fine it interesting when I see post like this and come to find out. You just joined this forum for the first time today. Hmm

Ah, a realist. It's been too long since I've seen one of your type around here

I was pretty impressed actually with the stream. I was figuring we'd be fighting Vex or Cabal, but to instead see a new breed of Hive made me pretty happy. (Both because it shows creativity on Bungie's part and I love the Hive. And when I say creativity, I mean new ways to show the enemies considering some Knights now carry large shields. Again, not a big change, but it will make things interesting.) Plus there is a lot more open communication. Sure everyone wants to complain about the NDA, but that was about the Comet expansion. Every Youtuber and streamer I've so far heard has been openly discussing what they know about Warmind now that it's released. We also have pictures of most if not all of the new exotics coming in, and we know the two (three if you're on Playstation) Strikes coming in. Escalation Protocol is going to be amazing. Unique loot, rotating bosses, and the ability to activate whenever I want? Maybe it's because I could kill Hive all day and not get bored, but this just sounds like an amazing end game activity for me personally. Sure I'll probably get burned out eventually, but then I'll have raids, strikes, and the weekly milestones. I love how open Bungie is being about the Exotic buffs, drip feeding us all the new changes coming in. I'm still waiting to see how DARCI is being changed up because right now she's more useless than Legend of Acrius against Argos. But so far looks like I'll have a reason for Skyrburner's outside of Calus's Throne Room, Tractor Cannon outside of trolling in Crucible, and maybe even an actual reason to give Fighting Lion another go. I will admit to being hesitant about the Claymore reward from PVP, but with Bungie confirming it's a guaranteed drop, and you get it once you're about 40% to the max valor rank, I'm feeling a little better. It'll still suck to grind for, but for such a weapon being hyped up to be given out at a reasonably low milestone, it feels like Bungie recognizing there WILL be a problem with cheaters and trying to make it as easy as possible for honest players to get it. (Not excusing any cheaters out there, and I hope Bungie really gets to work on cracking down on them) From a lore stand point it's also a huge surprise Nokris and Xol are being alluded to being the primary villains. Nokris is a more minor Hive character when compared to everyone else, but Xol is one of the Worm Gods, one step beneath the Darkness itself. I have a theory I'll post later about this, but it's pretty cool to begin finding out more about these mysterious creatures. Was I perfectly happy with everything announced? No. Do I believe D2 has pulled itself out of the dumpster fire? No. But I think steps are being taken in the right direction, and unlike CoO where I was a little excited, Warmind has me counting down the days. Hopefully as Season 3 goes on there will be better and better changes being released.

I was pretty ok with what I have seen in the reveal stream. A 20$ for several hours of stuff and things to do (weekly rotating escalation bosses etc) seems fair. A new, bigger, destination (the map has already been shown), new „story“, new strikes (too bad one is exclusive). Many new weapons, gear and so on, new crucible maps + the update improvements. And who knows, maybe some secret stuff they haven‘t mentioned. Seems fair to me. Have payed more for less, in the past.

1 ReplyTL;DR: Don't expect a $20.00 DLC to be a TTK expansion. Nor is the Warmind the Silver Bullet for all that ails Destiny 2. Just have fun with it. Gotcha.

1 ReplyTtk, I thought you meant time to kill

5 RepliesAll these excuses for defending mediocrity, I just don't understand. Who cares if they actually said '' New enemy race.'' or not. ( Sighs ) We have been down this road, over and over, and over again. Court of Oryx, Archons Forge, old exotics..I mean what is this, the third time now that we have to grind for Suros Regime? Warmind is not a step anywhere from what I have seen so far from this reveal. It's Bungie still walking in place. Mindlessly reusing old assets, placing old enemy types that have not been on that particular playable space before, and then calling it new. Why are players still falling for this parlor game? Why are players ok with the same old song and dance just because this thing is twenty dollars, and to be honest, technically it's more. Because most of these players probably purchased Curse of Osris, not to mention the dollar here and the dollar there they sunk into Eververse. Let us not sit here and pretend that players are not investing more then twenty bucks into this nightmare because they almost surely are. At some point it's ok for players to expect a return on that investment. And so far, this an't it. Not even close.
-
10 RepliesWe travel to the "New" location of Mars, to fight the "New" Hive threat, with "New" weapons like the Surros Regime, a "New" game mode the is oddly reminiscent of POE with "New" exotic buffs.. C'mon, man. You say $20 expansion, I say I'm $100 in to D2 paying for the same shit I paid $150 on in D1! Stop. Giving. Them. A. Pass.
-
5 RepliesLets be real - Majority spent 120$ total so far + Eververse...
-
9 RepliesYes let's be real. ALL OF THIS ALREADY HAPPENED IN DESTINY 1 FOR THE MOST PART AND HERE WE ARE AGAIN ARGUING THE SAME THING SOME YEARS LATER. ALL OF YOU WHO ARE COMPLAINING ARE IDIOTS.

I prefer crazy land
no spoilers
3 RepliesLower your expectations and D2 isnt a bad game. Dont expect the expansions to be the all sing all dancing Dlc your expecting it to be. To much expectation as resulted in this game feeling a failure because we compare it to D1 all the time.
-
6 Repliesgo check out the "destiny community" ...when people bring up the truth, that this game screws most players who buy it, the destiny fanbois just hunker down, get defensive, and become toxifyingly insular. They are like losers I went to high school with. Regardless of talent, their butthurt is undoing them! it's called narcism/codepency complex with borderline
-
2 RepliesCommunity - "Bring D1 to D2." Bungie brings over some D1 armor and weapons... Community - "Why are we getting stuff from D1?" You reap what you sow.
-
6 RepliesThey "now" have the feedback they need? i figured three years of feedback was enough.
-
5 RepliesLet’s be real here? Ok, I’ll be real here. Bungie ain’t listening because they care. They’ve let the game reach such an abysmal state that if they didn’t start listening now, they’d go out of business next year. They aren’t listening because they care. They’re listening because they have to. And as soon as they give us a “better DLC than Curse of Osiris,” they’re gonna troll us again next Fall. They’re probably gonna make everything useless, and only the new content is relevant. Maybe not, but I’m sure they’ll find some brand new inventive way to f*ck shit up. Bungie is 100% garbage. My faith in Bungie was hanging by a thread last Fall. The Curse of Osiris was going to redeem it, but instead they blew it. I’m done with Bungie. They are not the same company that created Halo. That Bungie is long dead.
-
With the Protocol event thing, people have regularly asked for a horde mode, and some kudos to bungie they were smart enough to realise that if they built it and the rewards were trash then nobody would bother playing (despite getting what asked for) so they did ok on that one. Negatives if I'm being a jerk; - it is Court of Oryx in a more open space, really - only one destination - one on each world would have been good! I'm interested to play it, can't deny it.
-
This game is in a death spiral. I’d rather spend 20 bucks on a fortnite character with a fish head, at least I’ll use him. I haven’t played d2 in a while but I still have the app on my phone and was hoping I would see some new content ( like actually NEW) what a disappointment. Any paid release will just further divide the small community that’s left and drive more away. Been here for 9 years or so, it’s really disheartening to see the decline of bungie.
-
1 ReplyEven CoO was worth the money compared to TDB from D1. And it looks like we are getting more than HoW gave us for the same price... So I don’t see any problems so far with the new expansion.

Edited by What I Look Like: 4/25/2018 12:35:39 PMI don't get why people expect a brand new random enemy type to just fcking appear lmfao. Let them do that, see how quick yall bitch about the lore or something. Yall are searching, mining, DIGGING for the salt now. Get yer pickaxes, boys!

2 RepliesEdited by Enochua: 4/25/2018 7:16:27 AMmy favorite complaint is the one about why dont we have new enemies...like OMG ...Do we know the whole story of each enemy race or the "factions" within those races we are currently fighting? Expect to see the same "old" enemies until we do know the whole story of each enemy and their "factions" within each enemy race. And the one about old exotics, like would a game involving swords and magic be the same if the Excalibur wasn't present? All the old exotics have too much lore around them not to come back.

1 ReplySomeone who understands basic economic workflow in a company and seemingly understands the development conundrum Bungie is in. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one.

I'm looking forward to having something to play again. I'm so bored atm. I've just been going around picking on haters for some fun.

9 RepliesYour post is a Bungie apologist post. Only $20, come back in September after another $20 etc etc. Ok , yes re-skins but hey we were never promised anything. Jam tomorrow maybe so stick with it . I have no idea when it became acceptable to purchase a base game and to have no expectations from it but fully comfortable with the idea that it would be 2 or 3 dlc down the line before I should expect a game I thought I was buying in the first place. Basically when Destiny 3 launches no one should buy the game until a year after launch , try the base game after all its "free" improvements and then decide whether to get the expansions. Wonder how that model would work for Bungie but that is essentially what the Bungie apologists are advocating if taken to its extreme. I actually quite like that idea as it goes :)
