Quit letting PvP dictates what happens in pve

I hate that bungie allow a PvP to dictate what happens in pve and I'm sure I'm not the only one that hates them doing so if anyone agrees with this please reply to this comment [spoiler]Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to #Feedback forum so that other Destiny players can weigh in. • This has been the problem since D1 launched. PvP players complaining caused auto rifles to be nerfed into oblivion. That was the beginning of the end of D1 for me.

Give me an example of a recent pvp change that negatively affected pve?

      • I’ve been saying it since nerf 1.1.1 on auto rifles, pvp should never effect pve, but bungie is too incompetent to understand. Too worried about eSports..... just pathetic.

        • Been saying this forever since D1. World of Warcraft has seperate weapons and armour for PvP and PvE. Never the Twain shall meet. Makes it so much easier to balance IMO.

        • The PvP part of destiny was a place to pass the time after you had exhausted all the pve main game content and were waiting on new content . Bungie then saw an easy method of changing the workload too PvP easier to make a simple small map. Lazy greedy attitude destroyed the legend of destiny. The ten year plan was flushed down the toilet .

          • I agree, if I wanted a PvP based game I would play those instead. I wanted a MMO type game where once I was done grinding I might take on others in a PVP arena -- not a "if you don't play this mode you're missing half the content" game.

          • Look I'm not here to s^*t in the PvP players nest.....they deserve a fair, balanced and enjoyable game as much as the PvE players do. Problem is balancing the crucible against PvE is like mixing oil and water. Bungie never have.....and never will....be able to find that happy middle ground until they finally realise both styles need to be balanced individually. I'm sure some players would rather it stay as it is but I get the feeling the majority of us want a PvP/PvE seperation after seeing how sanitized and dull weapons are in D2.

I think PVE is what ruined Destiny. No NPC computer generated AI is ever going to compare to fighting a human person with their own unique set of skills. If you want to play an MMO, go play WOW or ESO. Stop trying to ruin my PVP game with your PVE tears. Thorn deserved to be nerfed. And you know why they introduced Double primary. Because people were bitching about Shotguns and Snipers. Bungie did what you all asked.

                • I could not agree more! I dont think anyone bought this game for the PvP. In fact I didnt even touch the PvP until I have beaten everything else in the game to Ad nauseam. The fact that bungie has allowed "over powered" items from high end raids ect to be nerfed because they over performed in PvP is the exact reason I quit playing D1 cough *vex mythoclast* cough. You have players that have literally never run raids or only ran them 1-2 times crying that they got smoked by a guy that ran the raids dozens of times and had superior gear. They literally killed their own story by allowing these players to have on par items without having to play the story to get them. Im sorry but someone that has taken the time to get the best gear should have a edge over someone who only plays crucible day in and day out. Wake up bungie make the best gear only available in raids and make it A LOT BETTER. People will play your game more.

I’d prefer if PvP didn’t exist, but that’s just me. I don’t think a lot share that opinion and it shows in the weak endgame. Bungie occasionally plays matches in the crucible against players and you never see them doing Raids or Nightfall with players. Wasn’t one of the biggest goals for D2 to be noticed for esports? They’re very PvP driven unfortunately.

                    • Bungie should stop caring about PvP altogether. Let it simply be another mode to play in the freetime. Destiny is marketed as a PvE focused expierence and that's what I expect. "This would be great for PvE, but how would it affect PvP?" is a question that shouldn't need to be asked.

                      • Bungie needs to stop chasing the brand of success that Halo had. Destiny can be successful too, but not in the same way halo was. It can be just as successful but again, not the same way. It's just not built the same way. It has different constants just because of how the two universes differ from one another, and certain rules work for one, but not the other. The series of choices that let my beloved Halo flourish, are not compatible with Destiny. They can both be good, but they require different "recipes."

                      • I remember posting this stuff all the time back in d1 lol. I finally started pvp with regularity in D2 and liked it a lot until the latest crap update. Now I'm out. It really comes down to laziness. There should be pvp weapons and armor that are spec'd with different abilities than pvp. Money and time. 2 things Activision isn't willing to use.

                      • This has been the cause of the downfall of PvE since the very first nerf in Destiny. So many changes to try to balance PvP, with no thoughts to the effect it would have on PvE. Go ahead and nerf your precious crucible laggy shit-fest to the ground if you really want to. But separate PvE from PvP! Oh wait. That would require spending money and doing something the players have been asking for since the beginning of the game. And we all know what that means.

                      • I spend more of my time in PvP and direct most of my focus there (even though I love the PvE ... in D1). I sympathize with you, but I gotta say ... this PvP is trash lol. So let's not let this PvP dictate anything and just die and bring back D1 PvP. Also, if they do that, you can still have then decided separately, but it wouldn't be as big an issue if they went back to the right meta/balance (somewhre ~ late Y1 to Y2 before screwing over special ammo).

                      • It very much looks like a sizeable number of team leads are pvp orientated so not surprising. Pve takes time and commitment they simply don't have. Combined with thier rather moronic refusal to keep the sandboxes totally seperate handicaps any scope. This franchises epitaph will read "squandered potential", I doubt it'll be remembered for anything else.

                        • Why do you think PvE has never been separated from PvP. Bungie's sandbox couldn't handle D1 and nefred the most popular and called that "balancing" the entire game. Now they are working on the most watered down, dumb down game that Luke stated they made thing easier for them and they still are having issues just dealing with this game. If I were you, I would forget about this knowing Bungie's sandbox has avoided separation like the plague since the day D1 released.
