In the last month we have heard quite a bit from David and Emma. They have become the leaders of the never again movement. They are outspoken critics of the National Rifle Association. And they wish to start a voting movement to get rid of all Republican politicians and any Democrats that support gun rights.
They talk about the first amendment and democracy while at the same time suggesting that we move to a one-party system in order to achieve their goals of no more school shootings.
And the right, instead of going after their illogical suggestions, have chosen to attack them personally. We hear about how David is a crisis actor who is 26 years old and graduated in California. While Emma is a skinhead lesbian.
I want to make this clear right here and right now. Attacking these two young adults is only helping them and furthering their cause. Why? America loves the underdog. America also loves children / young adults who are trying to make a change. And the mouth pieces on the right are playing right into their hands.
In order to defeat these two on the political Battlefield we must address the fallacy of their goal. What is their goal? To make sure that there will never be another school shooting.
And as much as I hate crazy people with guns, inevitably there will be another school shooting. It is a fact of life. The only way that we could make sure the never again in the history of the human race there would be a school shooting is to turn this country into a police state and to get rid of privacy and gun ownership and to punish anyone caught with a weapon with a death sentence.
And that's not going to happen.
So instead of attacking these two for who they are in their personal lives, let us instead Focus on what they are demanding and how illogical it is.
Let us move away from hysterics and embrace logic and reason in order to defeat their message.

12 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 4/2/2018 7:16:31 PMActually the authoritarian aggression and histrionics being mindlessly hurled them IS the message. That we are up against people who don't have the ability to engage in a responsible and rational manner on this issue.... ...and therefore, compromise is not possible. So you leave us few options but having to resort to power politics as a matter of self-preservation. Or as President Kennedy once said about his counterparts in the Soviet Kremlin. "There can be no negotiation with individuals who's negotiating position is, 'What's mine is mine, and what's yours is negotiable." There can be no negotiation with those who believe that all compromise is capitulation. All regulation leads to confiscation...and anyone who disagrees with them is either stupid, evil, or a PAID provocateur. There can be no negotiation with those who cannot accept the legitimacy of ANY other narrative than their own.

7 RepliesPart of the problem is, when someone tries to go toe to toe with hogg, all he does is calls them child killers and then calls for them to be defunded for daring to argue with a school shooting survivor.

The real question, for me at least, is whether or not I get mid or rifle length gas system for my next M4 build? Then do I get a metal or synthetic heat shield? The old looking cool or do I want it to be lighter? Decisions are hard.....

229 RepliesActually, let’s focus on how even they and their posse were all bullying and ostracizing Cruz just like everyone else because “Why not? Have you seen the guy?” Makes me sick..

7 RepliesThey place human rights above gun rights, which is a reasonable cause.

8 RepliesRemoving guns entirely wont work as they are too entrenched in society - see 1920's alcohol prohibition for case study. Its that simple. However, clearly things cant carry on as they are. As always, gonna need the middle ground.

Ah, yes those two pseudo gun control experts.

2 RepliesSensible debate would be nice. In all honesty though I've been highly amused by watching the people who attacked them personally having to eat shit after it rebounded and blew up in their faces 😂😂😂

1 ReplyAttacking the person and not the argument is much faster, easier, and feels better for the person attacking, because there's very little to absolutely no effort required to do so. If anything, I definitely agree with you that questioning the validity of a person's stance is the best way to go. I also agree with you that America does take a liking to the underdogs and the young who want to make their voices heard. As of recent, many of my friends who I know don't support the movement have not questioned the movement at all, and all I have seen on my Facebook feed is stuff like calling Emma a "Cuban communist lesbian skinhead" or David the "R" word for not getting accepted into a UC (which is already hard to do for California students, given how competitive it has been to be accepted in the UC in the first place). If my friends who were against the Never Again movement were trying to sway me to go along with them, it didn't work. Rather, it made me look more into the Never Again movement and question how they could make their demands more appealing towards people who are on the fence about this movement, like I am. I'm definitely not on the "anti Never Again movement" train, seeing as all I'm seeing from that trainwreck is people insulting the people rather than the movement. I'd rather there be a place where both parties can come together and discuss how school shootings affect the population, and what can be done to satisfy both sides' needs.
