I would take broken unbalanced pvp any day for a fun pve experience.

Honestly. If everyone was overpowered and having fun and pvp was broken for a while, this game would do a lot better. • Well, I wouldn't want the PvP players to have to suffer for my enjoyment...
Who am I kidding, that's what they did to us PvE players.
But I am tired of all these PvP-focused games lately. Give me an excellent PvE experience and I'd be ecstatic.

    • Me too. I didn't get into Destiny for PVP, it was just a nice additional, occasional distraction. Nothing more.

Prometheus Lens laser tag crucible was an absolute blast to play!!! Unbalanced as heck, but sooooooo much fun. Edit 1: mayhem is also loads of fun, and involves everyone having the power to lay waste to everyone else almost at all times.

Here's an idea: Make a gear set made specifically for the crucible and bar any equipment not from this new list from PvP. Shaxx could let us choose some Blues to start and we go hunting from there. There, sandboxes separated in a very simple manner. Any fine tuning needed for either mode won't wreak havoc in the other. And we could allow a much wider variety of perks and loadouts to PvP without plunging the crucible into chaos. Another possibility would be returning our class skill trees but limiting the selection available to PvP. If Bungie handled this right, PvE could see a return to form in the eyes of most players and PvP could see gameplay drastically improved by utilizing a set gear list designed with only competition in mind. Plus not only would this give an entirely new set of gear to chase after, but players who don't care for PvP don't need to worry about missing anything that will help clear a Nightfall any faster. And we wouldn't worry about our favorite new raid weapon getting nerfed to uselessness because too many players used it in crucible with reasonable success.

          • Which is how RPGs that have pvp tend handle it. They are contests of power among various builds not contest of skill at the game’s mechanics.

          • Yep. Destiny 1's broken and unbalanced PVP was the most fun I ever had in a PVP game. It's that unbalance that kept us playing for 3 years. When we got killed by an OP gun, we'd start farming for that gun. We'd play the story, strikes, PVP, Raids, Patrol, anything to find that weapon. We might have gotten a bit annoyed that it took so long to find what we were looking for. But guess what, we were playing the game. Destiny 2 doesn't have any of that. You're given the best guns in the first few hours after you reach max level. You never get killed by anything surprising, or OP. There's no reason to farm, ever, for anything. It's the most boring experience I've ever had in a videogame. Bring back fun. Please.

            • The popularity of sticky nades ruined pvp 4 me. All of it was tolerable. Fun even. But when pvp became -blam!-ing dodge ball I was done.

PVP’s cry babies was the biggest reason D2’s the way it is. So just keep crying about getting shotgunned, sniped, supered, wha, wha, wha, and balance this game into it the grave.

I'd just prefer it that way. The competitive scene is cool and all but I wish they would have left this game out of it... or the attempt, whatever's going on here anyway. D1 was competitive and chaotically fun...even if you died erroneously sometimes and it made you mad. It's a game, you have to try to remember that.

              • Yeah, let’s break PVP so we can feel strong running the same PVE content over and over... PVP is what sustains shooters after the campaign aspects have been played into the ground.

                  • Broken really stops being fun after awhile. How many people are willing to say they would go back to hunters spamming skips or everyone spamming stickies. That's not fun or skill based anymore, it's a pain in the ass. Fun can come from balance, anger and frustration come from broken.

But the pve is fine dude. Last week i took myself and 2 friends out of monster hunter for a Destiny shoot and super it experience and we all kept complaining about the time to kill for a lesser minion vex wielding a minotaur's weapon, the ridiculous to move forward you dont need legs, why do i even have legs? All you need is warp from minotaurs, the we are not even close to empty our stock from minion taken soldiers, the 3 hammers to kill 1! Yes one single only unique fire vomiting taken captain, then the vex boss... would it hurt if bungo puts a cool down on the almighty push from every single encounter boss? Damn i will never know. It could be my fault you know, cause im 305 playing a 270 power level activity, but what about my friends? They both own the season pass(idiots) and are max power level(think is 330?) Same as your power level on Destiny, it means nothing, who wants the power fantasy or being able to play wrecking AI's? All people want these days is the challenge, right? Thats why you are nerfed during activities in wich you surpass the power level, right? Long story short, we finished the 270 strike after 20 something minutes i ask em "changing character or what?" We all laugh and jump back to monster hunter.

                    • Make PvP and PvE separate. If you make everyone and everything OP as shit, Trials will lose even more rep

                      • Ummm ... Broken is definitely not fun. Broken is, broken. Giving us more powerful weapons and politely asking us to stop team-shooting is terrible!!! I like the super and ability increases, but the weapons tuning is unnecessary. They should have focused on strict moderation of connection for P2P. If anyone falls under an acceptable connection threshold, they get booted. Lag/latency is killing PvP more than anything else. It was the biggest issue in D1 and while slightly better in D2, it still goes predominantly unchecked....

                      • Sorry that you can only shoot at predictable targets - real humans aren't so predictable. You might try to "get gud" as they say rather then cry about PvP. There must be a strike or raid you are having troubles with which is kind of sad.

                        • -Pretends that PvP isn't a major factor in the game being popular and staying alive to get to this point -Actually believes that the PvP community ruined the game (because that would assume Bungie listened to anybody in the community, and PvP players totally have to power to patch the sandbox) -Is willing to ruin the experience of the entire other side of the player base to improve their own -Pretends to be better that the people they are falsely blaming for the current issues. Bottom line, this game is the way it is because this is the way Bungie and Activision want it to be: simple, easy to maintain, high-profit for low continuing effort, and able to be worked on by 20 or 30 people as a hold-down. Meanwhile, all the ill-gotten profits from the D2 presale release are being poured into D3 and other projects, and 95% of staff are dedicated to -not this game-. Time to stop being a pawn and blaming your fellow players, all of whom just want to have fun. Start blaming the person driving this flaming bus, rather than the other passengers on it. If you're not holding them acountable, they win, and you lose.

                          • This has been Capcom's approach to their fighting games for YEARS now and guess what - it works beautifuly (barring a few glaring exceptions like Dark Phoenix in MvC3, who had to get nerfed lol). I'm not their biggest fan these days, but I've always admired that odd pearl of wisdom from them, that making everyone OP will invariably balance things out on the whole and it actually works. It's why I strongly feel Destina's Alpha test during E3 was sadly the best shape the game was ever in at least for PvP. Scout Rifles needed buffing desperately, but other than that things were largely fine; Just about every gun could wreck face in their intended ranges and yes, ARs had a bit too much range but their overall dps was perfect IMO; Holy crap do i miss being able to 6-shot headshot people in close range it felt so RIGHT 'cause y'know, walking up to a guy with an AR typically isn't smart (unless you're packing an AR yourself or a hand cannon). Really wish some of my suggestions weren't just being ignored :/ *sigh* It's honestly pretty tragic how close to perfection D1's PvP was initially only to see it gradually destroyed (I still maintain that Thorn was near perfect in its original pre-buff form, and Bungie should have just increased the potency of the DoT while leaving the gun's base stats the F alone). This is the sorta thing that still drives me to wanna be a dev, but sadly I'm just not cut out for it @.@ went to school for it and everything :/

                            • As would I, but we can have both. Just instead of this "let's muck up the radar" nonsense, competitive PvP should have been restricted to blue guns only. Those could be balanced as precisely as necessary, allowing Trials and competitive players the balanced, skill-driven Crucible they crave. PvE, Quickplay, and Iron Banner could still allow all weapons, and don't require balance in any form or fashion. The "blue guns only" solution, put up in multiple places, was win-win-win: it allowed a precisely balanced Crucible for competitors AND a fun Crucible for casual players. It made blue guns relevant, purple ones randomly rollable, masterworks customizable, and exotics potentially awesome because there was no need to make them balanced. I couldn't find any flaws with it, and never saw anyone else find any, either. So of course, Bungie ignored it and decided to force Inferno mode on people instead. Just like, when they merely needed to nerf shotgun range a bit, or reduce the pellet count from 12 to 11, they completely ruined D1's PvP with the special ammo nerf. There's an old saying about leopards and spots. At least I don't play competitive, so I'll be spared the brunt of this one.
