Do you let customers talk to you..

The way you talk to Bungie? Could you imagine someone berating you for something you felt good about but didn't meet their standards? I can tell you it sucks. Imagine being the art director or animators, or any other part of development, and a collection of people are just foaming at the mouth with "everyone who works here is scum. Trash. Worthless. You should all be ashamed" I'd get fired for beating someone's ass EDIT: I never expected this much feedback. I was just venting at the time, but I like hearing the different stories and talking out the rationales behind business matters and why some people are the way they are. Thanks for the conversations, folks. EDIT 2: Since ive commented this a lot throughout the thread, I thought it'd be worth posting here. I don't think that Bungie shouldn't receive backlash or critcism... They've made plenty of bad decisions. But I don't honestly think anybody deserves to hear some of the ridiculous things said on here.

  • yes, I just finished up on a government job. over an 18 month period I and my union brothers told their suits and core of engineers about a lot of things that either wouldn't work or things that were potentially dangerous to everyone envolved. They didn't listen to input and laughed , shunned any outside advice so we ended up redoing the same project dozens of times .no one ever got hurt but it delayed the job from getting finished by 6 months,so we were the scape goats and the blame fell on us in the end. I take pride in my trade and craft and try hard everyday to prefect it but when i do make mistakes I own up to them and move on. ya, I would have loved to have told some of the engineers -dumbass go take your pen and paper and see if you and the good idea fairy can come up with something that's not completely idiotic .but I kept my mouth shut.

    What are you on? Thats how buisness works. You sell a product if the customer is not happy with it they have every right to say how bad they think it is.

      What are you even saying? You realize without customer your product is useless. This isn't some artist creating a piece of art to express something. When you slap a price tag on something and sell it to consumers then expect feedback if people don't like it or have issues with it. And while I'll never just leave a post saying this is crap or garbage. I will voice my frustration and point out exactly what I don't like and possibly leave some input on changes. But it cost bungie money to implement changes to the game and if all they saw on the forums was polite comments on their game, then nothing would ever get changed. Not in a reasonable time frame. The only reason we have the changes coming with the dlc next week is frankly because of the venom coming on these forums. They can see how much people are frustrated and know they need to implement changes quickly to save the game. Also I don't see anyone calling out the working staff at bungie. Luke Smith and the other project leads are the ones that get the heat. The only person I'm calling out other than the team leads is the artist who came up with the Titans armor. It looks like trash and I swear they are just trolling us cause they double down in the dlc with that dildo helmet.

          I agree with the sentiment I’m disappointed it fall son deaf ears. A lot of the replies show what kind of people they are in real life.

            Yes, because my paycheck is far more important than my pride. Wether or not they're in the wrong, I rather have a secure job over calling said shit customer out.

              • My customers don't speak to me with Salt because I give them what I promise them. I own a computer consulting firm. I am honest with my customers so we both know what to expect and the deliverables. Bungie has lied OVER AND OVER. Not justifying the behavior, just saying I can understand the frustration. The folk at Bungie Hyped this game so much and didn't deliver. Folks have a right to be upset. Have a good one!

              • Honestly, if I made clients as upset with my product as Bungie has, I would be out of work. Bungie has a large enough fan base though, that they can piss people off and still have plenty of people willing to pay for their products.

                • One of my first jobs was retail , And i did good work but occasionaly I would miscount change (we didnt have An electronic register) and I got cursed and yelled because if it. I deserved it however because my job is to make the customers transaction as simple and satisfying as possible, and didn't do that. This motivated me to do everything I can to please the consumer. Destiny didn't do this , they messed up a lot in D1 and we did our cursing and shouting. But with D2 they somehow made it worse. That's like me accidentally forgetting the 89 cent change for Dave, then the next time he comes back I miscounted again and instead of apologizing and handing it to him , I throw 89 cent worth of pennies in his face and say the true lesson is for friendship.

                    If the quality of my work/service was abysmal, I would [b][i][u]expect[/u][/i][/b] to be excoriated by my customer. [u][b]ESPECIALLY[/b][/u] after [i]three years[/i] of shoddy work peppered with “I’m sorrys” and “I’ll try betters” which turn out to be only so much lip service.

                    • I would never speak to people in a way I wouldn't want to be spoken to. However I've been critical of d2, yet in a respectful way. I finally traded it in today upon seeing nothing that makes this game worth coming back for imo

                            • I work at a large multinational and my job is to meet customers face to face, take all the shit they have to throw and send them away feeling better about my company. I do this by being honest (and boy have I been warned about that from various bosses 😂), approachable and making the customer feel that I empathize with them. This is perfectly normal. If a customer feels that they are not getting what they paid for or the service they were led to believe they would then it is up to the face man (me) to take all the shit and let the customer vent.

                                • I'm equally as critical of myself as I am with companies who make things that I like, so yes. But I don't go spewing vitriol, even on the forums, so... maybe not everyone who takes issue with D2 is a vile bastard and a half?
