1. Hype up the game, market it like a madman, and wait for us hopeful gamers to buy it up (and let's be honest, we did).
2. Rake in the cash then maybe fix some things in 1-3 years.
3. Start over with Destiny 3 for the last part of their 10 year agreement with Activision.
They knew they were going to get blasted by the Destiny core players, but made D2 for casuals. This is purely a financial decision, not like the old Bungie of Halo that made games that were actually fun. Tetris is more fun and challenging that D2. So in short, since gaming is mainstream and business is all about profits, I wouldn't get your hopes up for any significant changes.
From a Frustrated Destiny 1 player that got suckered into buying this garbage, and since we bought it I feel I have to play it.

Oh yes, totally all bungie....not like activision is known for doing this with, I dunno, every other game they publish. Nah, that must be a coincidence, right. We all know the devs hate their own games and all.

5 RepliesPeople still play this trash?

7 RepliesThe Devil will be ice skating in Hell before i buy Destiny 3.

2 RepliesThey clearly never wanted destiny to be a no lifers game, get over it.

It's probably your router.

D2 is the first ever bungi product I bought and probably the last, can't believe I spent money on quarter of a game...

78 RepliesI tried to warn people man. I really did. I saw this coming since the DRE. The only reason I'm hanging around is the backlash has been so bad on this game that I'm kinda curious to see if Bungie will reverse coarse. If they don't reverse coarse, then D3 is toast. And Jason Jones better have a plan for what they are going to do after D3 because there will be no market blitz that can help this game if D3 flops like D2 - which it will if they don't reverse coarse.

PVE may have been made for casual players, but PvP is definitely the realm of sweaty try-hards that live on pizza pockets and live in their mother’s basement. I’m never buying another Bungie product, the hype is and always will be, lies.

You forgot one more step: Release bunch of DLCs and then re-release Collector's Edition with some emotes, in order to force consumers spend even more money.

Their plan ? Simple. Create a sequel without using too much resources. Market that sequel while ppl are still playing the original( that was a more than decent game, after 2 1/2 years) Quick cashgrab. Kill the sequel due to low player numbers. Launch new title created by same studio, stating they learned from previous games.

I didn't buy Destiny 2. I learned from Destiny 1 that getting excited for anything that comes from Bungie will only lead to disappointment nowadays. It makes me sad, I have been a fan of Bungie for longer than a large part of the player-base have been alive. To see Bungie as they are now, constantly rushing to get more content and being unable to upkeep this train-wreck of a series. I blame Activision mostly but I feel Bungie as a company have moved away from making a game they would enjoy to making a game that can bring in the most cash. I think it would be great if the original Bungie team that made the Halo series made a new company called Cord. Maybe they could avoid the publishers by going through crowdfunding.

Never buying a bungie product again. What a total waste...

1 ReplyThey should have just expanded D1 with graphical overhauls and mass content...but that wouldn't have sold like a sequel. Money and greed destroys everything we love, don't it?
-
I was deceived into buying this that’s why I don’t play anymore.
-
Yea this game SUCKS and Bungie HATES fun👎🏻
-
18 RepliesThey told us exactly what we are getting. What did they hype up? There was more info out on D2 before release than they ever gave us before.
-
Have to say I'm super curious as to what % of the budget for D2 was spent on marketing in comparison to actual game development. Man I'd love to know those figures!
-
All you have to see is Black Friday sales. Black cocks 3 held its value for two years whilst foreordination 2 is 30 after 2 months. I'm buying both wolfenstein games on Friday!!!! I can't wait <

Hype/fubar everything is that the answer

There were so many people on here warning players to NOT buy Destiny 2 until after it was released, so no sympathy from those of us who tried to warn you! Hopefully though you learned a valuable lesson that you will remember going forward.

3 RepliesThe bungie - Activision contract started in 2010.....so I think D2 is the final destiny.....no D3
