TL;DR - All supers, some grenades and some abilities need a buff. Make hunters good at what they're meant to be good at. Damage and speed.
Hunters are incredibly underpowered in comparison to the other classes.
I love playing hunter and I will never stop but man, you're making it difficult Bungie.
I and, I feel confident in saying, 90% of hunter mains believe we need a buff in order to keep up with the other classes. Warlock's recovery is crazy and the titan's supers are incredible.
What do hunters have? Fast strafe and fast reload. Of course, I understand that they're still trying to make them a lone wolf, considering 98% of their perks in the entire game don't help team mates but they've gone the wrong way about it.
I think a few things need a buff tbh but I'm probably biased.
Here are my suggestions.
- Golden gun needs a combustion perk on the bottom tree.
- Tripmine grenade could use a damage buff.
- Six shooter is stupid, I purposely didn't unlock it. To be fair, I don't know what should replace it that would be balanced, but it annoys me that I miss out on a perk because it sucks so bad.
- Arc staff needs a speed buff, that's all.
- Shadow shot needs to one hit in PvP and tether/suppress A LOT quicker. Basically do what it's meant to do. The fact that the titan's suppression grenade works better than shadow shot really pisses me off.
- The class ability/dodge needs a cool down reduction. I really enjoy using it but considering it does sh*t all, it should be available to use quicker.
- Mobility should do a little more to the jump. I love running high mobility for strafing fast as hell, but a jump bonus would be nice.
I might be alone in this next opinion but in no way do I want a better recovery and blah blah blah, I want the hunter to stay a hunter. I don't want to play a hunter and feel like I'm playing a slow ass warlock or a lanky titan. I just think that the things that the hunter IS good at, needs to be better at it.
Again, I'm probably way too biased but to me, all these would make hunters a viable option to play as.
Thanks for your time.

Six shooter is nice in PvE against non-bosses because it gives you the extra shots to deal with a few more enemies (I also like it because it fits with the whole "quick draw" motif for Gunslingers as a whole). I do agree that it's disheartening to fire off all six shots into the boss and do *some* damage and then see it lose all its health to... something (I think it's the Sleeper, because I see it fire at around the same time, but I have no clue), so a damage buff to the super would be nice. Also, think Hunters should stay Hunters, and not try and be Warlocks or Titans (at least, you should have the choice).

Yep, I 3 shotted a guard in a lost sectors area in the face with golden gun and it didn't kill him.....super not so super :(

2 Repliesbesides a speed buff for arc staff, i think they need to allow arc staff right click be able to hit people mid air like titan arc does

1 ReplyEdited by Danksley: 11/5/2017 8:42:09 AMMake stompee5 stack with the sprint perks. Same with dragons shadow

1 ReplyMarksman dodge + 2 rockets is quite invaluable in some niche instances in PVE content. Just like how empowering rift and rally barricade has their niche uses. Though not as damage breaking, pairing marksman dodge with a homing rocket like the Morrigan does quite wonders at a distance against yellow bar elite enemies. Really good for sending down rockets quickly, assuming youre not limited to something as small as a damage platform on the Calus fight. Other than that, i can see why most people see the marksman dodge as useless. Most people judge how poor marksman dodge is as an ability because they use it for primaries mainly. Regardless, i would like to see some extra love towards the Hunter class.

I never played anything but hunter in D1 and D2. I loved gunslinger and then nightstalker. Rolled one this time around again and something felt off. In pve i was pretty squishy and even stacking tons of speed boosting things i'm like a ms quicker then other players...odd. My biggest survival thing is so minor its stupid. But my dodge can reload my weapon and stuff! Then I rolled a titan two days ago after going into crucible and getting so many titans within an inch of life, they punch me, get full health and come out with an overshield on top and take out 1-2 more people... I see why now. Almost all of their supers are crazy good. Their solar is the weakest yet is still strong. Their mini shields are super helpful in pve and one even reloads their weapons letting them spit out crazy dmg far more then my dodge reload allowed me to. They can also close down lanes in pvp or provide insane coverage. Some of their subclass stuff gives them insane healing / overshields on punches, double grenades of one of the best grenades in the game etc. If it doesn't get better, some of their exotic armor allows some insane synergy with other exotics or abilities. I'm a titan main now - they are legit crazy.

4 RepliesI think golden Gun is mostly fine, but 6 shooter needs a longer duration. Arcstrider is flat out SLOW, needs a major speed buff Nightstalker needs ALL animations shortened. Firing the arrow, arrow speed, and making the tether. Also, I’d like it to be a little bit quieter. It’s supposed to be a stealthy super, but it’s like SSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH
-
Only thing needing a buff is the PvE damage of golden gun. The nighthawk makes it wonderful, but the inability to crit without he bottom tree makes me kinda sad and the damage is rather... lacking. I'm not talking a 200% buff, something just 10-16% just enough to finished off those captains/yellow bars
-
Yeah. There needs to be an armor buff whenever you pop your super in PvP
-
19 RepliesThe subclasses are fine, if you have the right weapons Nightstalker - Orpheus rig Arcstrider - raiden flux Gunslinger - Celestial night hawk Though I still think the hunters need a good buff. Such as a speed boost for arc strider.
-
2 RepliesI agree with you. You have to main a hunter to know just how crappy it is in destiny 2. I just want it to be able to compete with warlocks and titans not be better in some way. Right now it’s not even close.
-
2 RepliesJust do away with Hunters. Period.
-
you just suck
-
2 RepliesControversially, I like my Hunter in D2. I think if you get on a roll Arcstrider is really good. Great neutral game, super is good (outside of PvP). Void is good too in PvE and PvP (super sucks balls in PvP). The one subclass that really hurts though is Gunslinger. That subclass has been hammered in D2. High skill ceiling-I feel like I’m about to have a cerebral haemorrhage just trying to compete in PvP. Then along come a roaming fisting level 6 Titan noob and it’s all over...Gunslinger needs some work Bungie.
-
I used to hear back in the day of D1. Titan was trash and that class for noob ! and most of PvP top players were hunters.
-
2 RepliesPeople who are good with Hunters are so because of their skill, people who are good with Warlocks and Titans are so because of the game!
-
2 RepliesHunters are good the way they are. Only shadowshot delay is garbage. The rest is ok, But Its my opinion

Edited by KyriosYuudai.TTV: 11/6/2017 5:23:15 PMPlease bungie, hunter reworks are needed. Especially in pvp!. Titan Arc both super and healing from melee are far superior. Titan Ult is almost instant with increased travel speed and healing from shoulder charge. Titan melee heals on every kill ( no need for melee ability to be active) Hunters require wind up time and do not move as fast. (grant either increased movement speed or activate-able burst damage.) Dodging normally doesn't save your life ever. (i-frames needed?) Mobility is one of the worst stats. (strafing speed is definitely a plus but far weaker than recovery) Titans and warlocks can both hit 10 recovery. Hunters not so much Shadowshot Suppression speed is slow. Shadowshot Suppression is inferior to say titan suppression grenade. (by how effective it is) Golden gun six shooter is not great ( personal preference i guess havent figure out a use for it) Golden gun takes 2 shots to break a titan barrier. ( this seems out of control.. maybe one shot i dunno) Tripmine is incredibly weak compared to d1. The high risk high reward grenade should do more dmg. Both titan and warlock have better arc grenades that do full unmitigated damage. Most exotics are extremely useless the exceptions being (nighthawk, o.rig, and raiden) but the exceptions are only really useful in pve Several other issues but tired of typing
-
1 ReplyPersonally I think Hunters are fine. A plain Nightstalker with no exotics is still pretty versatile, able to compete in PVP and PvE with their invisibility alone. Also Vortex grenades are like the second best type of grenade in the game, imo. Arcstriders with a Raiden Flux (which you can get through the storyline and just upgrade it, or get a better duplicate) can literally stunlock a boss for a good solid 2 minutes. That's an extremely long time in this game. Even in Crucible, so long as you aren't an idiot you can do pretty well with your super. Gunslingers have the most versatile super in my opinion. It's pretty good in close up and long range, PvE and PvP equally. Yes we don't have healing rifts and we can't create cover. But honestly healing rifts are kind of overhyped, especially in PVP. If a wounded Warlock pops a healing rift behind cover, just rush him and smack him. They will die. And a Titan's barricade is also beatable as well. Either throw a grenade behind it or wait for them to eventually pop their head out from it.

12 RepliesEdited by STARWoLF00: 11/4/2017 11:53:56 PMThe hunter class is for people who like to throw dirt in your eyes in a fight. Streamers and tryhards don’t play hunters because they are the hardest class, they play hunters because they are the easiest class and basically every one of their abilities is a -blam!-ing cheat code. They are like mice on steroids running around infecting the crucible with herpes and Zika. Most hunters spend there time going invisible with heavy weapons and last hope. I used to hate titans with that last minute slam bullshit, and even with multiple -blam!-ing slams now, but I will always despise hunters with a passion. Like seriously I hate their character models I swear to god.
-
Reasonable thoughts on the hunter, completely agree. This gunslinger (myself) will fight along side you any day

-
5 RepliesTake invisibility out of the game
-
Definitely need to fix dodges cool down reduction.
-
3 RepliesI have an idea for dodge. For every 1 agility your hunter has, that decreased the cool down of dodge. So with 10 agility, the dodge would be 5 seconds( sense dodge has a 15 second cool down.)
-
Hunter jumps are perfect. jumps are great across the board. if i had one change it would be to double up on dodge skills. as in store an extra one so you can either jump in and jump out or roll away twice.
