Bungie, you broke Mr. Fruit
Meh.
That’s the title of his latest D2 video.
Mr. Fruit, the Destiny youtuber known for being positive was finally broken by D2. He goes on to say that he was trying to do a video on the Origin Story auto rifle but fell into how bored he is with D2 already and is simply waiting for the DLC to judge if D2 is even worth it.
Never would I think Fruit would descend into this D2 is bad funk.
So yeah I guess you can throw “we broke Mr. Fruit” under your belt now too Bungie. When does the damage control start?

18 RepliesI'm disappointed in Mr Fruit. Yes things have changed in the crucible, however its not his job to endless whine about getting team shot and high calibre rounds. Its his job to show me stuff with a happy face and let me decide on the outcome, its his job to amuse me. Most of his million come from Destiny and he certainly shouldn't be turning into a whiney little bitch about it now. Even now Rabby's revenge 2 is his most viewed vid lately.

The live team and the DLC will sort out the content drought hopefully. That's not to say that D2 hasn't been a disappointment. I cant say I know much about streamers, but I can only stand some Youtubers (Jez, TV and Mightea). They have there place. Lot of followers and devs cant ignore them. Bit of a grey area as to their opinions but I've never watched Mr. Fruit so cant comment specifically on him... But overall I've enjoyed the game. But there's not much loot or goal incentive to grind the prestige raid or NF or endgame. So I'm recruiting a Guardian by helping my mate play through D1 so hes up to date when the DLC drops for D2. [spoiler]Its bloody awesome to see him experience it for the first time! Just got to the Awoken part and he was like 'watch me grey dude I'm a slay that Gatelord'[/spoiler]

8 Repliesok one mr fruit is one of the very few genuinely nice streamers who are just in this to have fun. but as to why people should care? like it or not they are INFLUENCERS..they have hundreds of thousands of subscribers and tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands views on a regular basis. if they all are saying basically the same thing, they WILL SCARE PLAYERS AWAY so, you dont have to personally care about their opinion, but their opinion holds far more weight and influence then you or I. ignore it and risk the games health /shrug

Just wait, with the PC release now here, many of those have seen the console player comments and videos, bungie won't sell as many PC copies as they might of, had D2 not been worse than vanilla Destiny.

That was "Ancient Fantasy" + "Hard Science Fiction". That is what it was initially advertised as and what Year 3 D1 was shaping up to be. The problem is that Destiny 2 has taken the franchise into becoming a game that I simply did not want. We got a standard FPS Skill based shooter with PvP set as end-game. It is trying to use the Halo formula to satisfy the competitive shooters. That design choice does not work with [i]Loot[/i] based games. You're fighting against human players in the Crucible and you're fighting an army of drones in PvE. What makes PvE fun is being a powerful badass what makes the Crucible fun is the competition and proving your better against a real person with access to the same weapons abilities. They're not the same and should not be balanced as such. It is trying to be a jack of all trades but consequently making it a master of none. There are games that do what Destiny does, and better. Making it a competitive PvP is the [u]opposite[/u] of what Destiny was supposed to be and shaping up to be by Year 3. This feels like a slap in the face to the people who stuck around and supported Destiny. Bungie should stop trying to make it Halo when that is a completely different formula. PvP does not work as a core aspect in Destiny. They took what could have been an amazing RPG and made it a simple shooter. Big middle finger to the fans who made the first game successful. [b]ALSO.[/b] The developers needed more time to deliver the game's scope and depth that they originally intended to make. Destiny is made by AAA developers, supported by AAA publishers, and is sold as a $60 game. They already have the money and support they need to make a complete product. The fact that it is not a complete game at launch, and is in reality an incomplete foundation that relies on content updates as well as paid DLCs to add things that should have been in the game in the first place, is unacceptable. [u]Stop making a standard shooter and deliver on the Epic RPG that was originally intended.[/u]

I care that I am not enjoying this game as much as I should have. However, I really don't care how random youtubers feel about it.
