This game will not survive the release of COD WWII
Hardcore players have already hit the wall with this game. Intermediate players are just arriving there now. By the time COD WWII is ready to drop casuals will have hit the wall with D2.
D2 has very little PvE content and what is there isn't really replayable. There's no real incentive to keep playing the PvE content. Exotics are meh and don't draw players to them. The raid gear is awful. Static perks, limited class and armour customisation take away "the grind". You can reach max rank by playing patrols so there's no incentive to attempt the challenging end game content.
D2 PvP is the most barebones PvP suite you will ever see. 2 playlists. 5 gamemodes. No progression system. No ranks. No custom games. No theater. The quick play playlist and competitive playlist seemingly offer the exact same experience. A little too sweaty in QP to offer casual play. A little too casual in competitive to be played competitively(no ranks, no quit penalties, no party size matchmaking)
How is a game that essentially tells you to stop playing at the 30 hour mark going to compete against COD WWII?

The only worthwile fps this year will be star wars battlefront 2 open beta starts this friday. WW2 sucks it doesnt even have dedicated servers.

I will preface this by saying that destiny 2 was incredibly mediocre. So I won’t be surprised if it dies But. Let’s look at the other destiny disasters House of wolves. Not a lot of pve content. No raid. Ghost voices replaced by fallen npcs on a radio. Got roasted. Destiny still standing Taken King. Great expansion in many ways. REALLY roasted over the enemy just being reskinned classic enemies. Also complaints that I was planned or cut vanilla content being sold off in parcel. Angry reviews. AND the whole price debacle where people rages over the price. Destiny still standing Rise of iron. While ultimately a satisfying dlc people roasted it for just recycling zones and fallen. They roasted hard (until they actually played) Destiny still standing A mediocre relaunch might not be as deadly as people think. Especially if they can correct some of the mos steps Again. Still mediocre. I wouldn’t be surprised entirely if it did fail.

Oh shit I was meant to stop playing at the 30 hour mark? Is that 30 hours per character or across your whole account? I had more time invested into D1 than I did combined in Cod: MWR, Battlefield 1, Fifa 16 & 17, COD: BO3, The Division, GTA 5 and TES: Online but then again I wasn't an absolute retard who can only mentally process or afford to play 1 game at a time

I am a huge cod player and iv just stopped playing cod iw alltogether for d2. As long as theres some sort of updates for d2 il be on it as much as ww2.

1 ReplyYes, it will survive - and it will survive until the next version is released. I'm sure many of the features we had in D1 at the end of it's lifespan will be released into D2 as we move along. That is how Bungie keeps you coming back. If they put everything including the kitchen sink into the initial release, people like you would burn through all of it in just a little bit longer, but still a relatively short amount of time, and then there would be nothing left. As D2 sits now, it was a good start, but needs more. As we move forward with patches, extensions, special events, etc, the content will come. The changes will come. People will continue to play. Why you may ask......because it is a game and it is fun to play with friends. Those COD games are a dime a dozen. They do fine for a few months and then the users move on to other titles.
