DESTINY had 3 years of development, and what's hard to comprehend is how BUNGIE has taken a ridiculous amount of content and features away in D2 which does NOT make sense.
D1 was Bungies training course. D2 was supposed to be everything they have learned and then some. The strikes are not any better and other content is really not above par from D1.
Don't get me wrong I love the game and I invest a good amount of time with it, but entirely too much was taken away, and the mistakes that we see already in D2 should have been learned from in D1. How the F could BUNGIE royally F up the meta in the Crucible??? After 3 years of tedious weapon balance and they F it up first time around with MIDA at every corner. Test players??? Beta???
Rant is over. I am more grateful than bitter over D2 , but some things that were left out just don't make sense to me.
PS. I DELETED MY MIDA after a few days of using it. I didn't want to feel LIMITED by one gun that I had already used a lot in D1. In my humble opinion IT IS A CRUTCH for me and the vast majority that use it. They are comfortable with it and they haven't given other weapons a chance in D2.
I think it was a stupid move to bring back weapons and armor from D1 but they did. D2 was a clean slate but it wasn't taken advantage of. If all else they could have reskinned the MIDA and called it something else Don't think there would be so much negativity if that was the case.
Edit: been using SEVEN SIX FIVE SCOUT RIFLE w much success countering the mighty MIDA.

8 RepliesThere's nothing wrong with the mida, so sick of posts like this, you ruin pve play!!!

1 ReplyIt's a sequel in the same way madden 18 is a follow up to madden 17. It's not a sequel. In fact the yearly madden etc iterate more on what became before rather than bafflingly take features out. It's a sequel to destiny vanilla not the final version that ended with ROI and age of triumph. Very little innovation across the board to be honest. It's still fun to play but people cannot pretend that its sequel.

As a person that's loved Destiny i still knew many of its issues. So much so I had a low expectation for Destiny 2.... and somehow I am still disappointed.

5 RepliesEdited by NORKIE: 9/24/2017 2:22:06 AMBungie took away my LMG's wtf is with that... The amount of money they made and yet poof we get even less bullshit than destiny 1. all the basic emotes are filler for microtransaction rng btw just gonna throw that salt in there. if they wanted to they could make many good things but filler is what they need and it works because I see many whales/pigeons buying a ton of loot boxes. Destiny is the most expensive dancing simulator/showoff game ever made and it's amazing how little they give a -blam!- about the actual game... for example, this... and yea the list goes on and on and on... I guess we all know where all that money and time went now... https://ebgames.com.au/loot-230851-Destiny-2---Christmas-Bauble-Decorations-6-Pack-Loot

5 RepliesI've been playing since launch and just out of the blue today, I realized I already hit my wall. I think I'm already done. It's the exact same thing it was the last 3yrs. And knowing that about Destiny 2 after a few weeks of playing, I see absolutely no point in grinding for power level anymore. I mean, what's the point?
-
1 ReplyFor the last time, its Destiny too.

Destiny 2 is wank already bored i say there is less content in this 1 the story is better only because there wasnt one in d1 one freind of mine was saying get destiny 2 it's going to be so much bigger but it's not the planet's seem the same size if not smaller. I have all 3 characters at lev 20 in the first 2 days of realise they need to follow gta with there free updates I mean how much money have these guys made for a game with cartoon graphics when I'm on a planet it like playing a ps3 game the scenery in d1 was better. Ps stop stealing other ideas from film's etc.

3 RepliesNot 3 years of dev only around 1.5 as your very biased assumption is based on the fact that as soon as d1 launched d2 was already being worked on. In actual fact it was only just before taken king and after that some ‘thought’ went into making d2 then post rise of iron it was all hands on deck. Also most of this is based on opinion. Yes in trials mida is the only gun you see but trials has always been cancer so what did you expect. The strikes are an improvement there just aren’t very many of them so it’s the tediousness of doing the same strike 3 times in a row that’s bad. The raid is a work of art and one of bungies best to date. Story was much better than d1 and still haven’t done all the side quests. I’m happy with my purchase and I intend to keep playing
-
Remove the mida and a new gun will take its place and everyone will cry about that one. I only want to see it nerfed because it was in the Meda in D1 and don't want to use it for another 3 year and not use something new.

2 RepliesAgreed. There is a massive improvement in places, but it’s the playability that’s the issue for me. The game is good don’t get me wrong and my dissatisfaction is genuine not here to bitch about it just my playin experience so far. I miss strike selection and strike specific loot. The amount of Omnigul strikes I did are insane for a perfect grasp, but this is what kept me playing. Omnigul is not the only strike I selected just in case you wanna pick up on that. Also the heroic strike mode dropped loot at you’re light level out of the strike chest, real good reason to do the strikes. On a positive not I did join two ransoms off the recruitment last night who wanted a 3rd for no rush strikes and really enjoyed that lots of tokens and leg engrams but all 10 light lower than me, which is frustrating. I miss bounties both crucible and normal bounties and Petra ones too. POE yes I still ran it every week even to the end, even skolas forever eater etc Factions are coming so I’m only hoping this brings at least some more playability. So wether we play for the enjoyment of it or to find good loot all this stuff was in place in d1 by the end to cater for how we want to play. It seems idiotic and insane to take that basic playability out of the game with the new one at launch. There’s really no logical explanation as to why bungie have took everything good out of d1 and left it behind it should have been a continuation. Light should have been harder to obtain at max and everything should have been in place to make us play and put the hours in to reach max light. Shit my mates were near max within 24 hours, absolutely ridiculous. It took me 4 months of doing Petra bounties and playing every day to get a full set of queens guard hunter armour. I love the game and I wanna play it not walk around scratching my head thinking oh that tree over there looks nice. I don’t want to go back an play d1 or some other game I want to play this one I want it to engage me grab my attention make me excited about what’s to come. It has to have playability, it as to be engaging, it as to create memories, and have the wow factor and lastly it as to be better than what it was. My 4K telly is better than my old hd one it’s basic progression. Sadly it as none of the above, but it does have positives it’s not all lost or doom and gloom. Here’s hoping that bungie as all this under control and with each it gets better and starts to shine and destiny 2 becomes legend

Had a run around in quickplay and I was beating mida with an auto often enough, against better players too because we were getting whipped. I've found high impact scouts to be hard to get kills, and pulse rifles are tough (for me). Killed by plenty of handcannons, sidearms, subbies too.

3 Repliesif you were a fanboy you would have your facts straight before posting such nonsense.

1 ReplyThe mida, its the easiest exotic to earn and by far is shittest. There are other weapons out there for pvp. P.s. stop running down the middle, getting baited, having stupid thoughts. Stay with your team and learn to flak. Use the radar and pay attention. Pvp isnt all that bad.
-
7 RepliesJust because Mida is the most used gun in crucible doesn't mean its the best. Ive out gunned loads of Mida users with the Tone Patrol scout.
-
3 Repliesi think strikes are amazing! way more fun than d1. just no reason to play them bc the loot sucks
-
1 ReplyCan you guys shut up and do something else? Vanilla D1 didn't have much meat either, but it slowly got added to keep us entertained and content. Yet everyone still complained. Give it time to filter in to keep the game world fresh instead of bitching like entitled little turds immediately. Waaaaaay, I burned through the base game in a week. Losers.

“Wahh wahh wahh I hate this game! It’s so stupid! There’s timed nightfall! I played 40 hours straight and got all the gear and I’m bored!” Stfu you whiney bitches! It’s been 3 weeks so chill TF out! Give them time to address some complaints or just -blam!-ing stop playing and sell it to gamestop for $3
-
I share your frustration but it makes perfect sense. This is a calculated strategy from Bungie and all of the things you mentioned will be sold back to you through DLCs.
-
8 RepliesI stopped playing D1 before its first dlc. And I came back to see what D2 is about. I don't really see the difference from D1 to D2. The story and maps are new but gameplay is exactly the same from D1 with some minor tweaks. Im already pretty bored with the lack of content. Strikes are the same. Nightfall is the same but this time it's timed! Ooooo. Crucible is the same but less noobs with shottys on every corner. Patrols, public events and challenges are still the same. Tell me if I'm missing anything new cuz this game got old real fast.
-
Its almost like they forgot to make an exotic scout rifle, and autorifle for D2 so they were like "eh, just put mida and hardlight in there, f#@$ it.".. I am more annoyed this is the third time I have had to get both. I had them in year one, then in year 2, after the taken king "expansion". And now, in a totally new game, again. I am so sick of the noise mida makes. Poing poing poing poing poing poing.
-
2 RepliesI think the main take away is: Destiny players will complain for any reason. D2 IS better...they DID fix a ton of stuff. Hell, the world could be completely open and you'd still have threads about "Destiny is too big! Wtf Bungie!". Play; don't play--thats what it comes down to. The devs are super sensitive to criticism...which is why so much DID change. However, like anything, you never noticed the good but hyper focus on the bad.
-
6 RepliesYou had 9 months of development in your mother's womb and probably around 8 years of time to grow, and you're still this stupid.
-
Truthfully my only complaint with Destiny 2 is PvP. I don't want to use the Mida but in order to compete with players it almost feels as if you have too. I've used A LOT of kinetic weapons and the vigiliance wing, Lincoln green, origin story are good but not as good as MIDA. Also it's so easy to obtain the weapon it seems as if it forces players to use it.
